On Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 6:00PM, I attended Clementine's September Chef Night. Clementine partnered with Little Friend, a pop-up by chefs Andrew McQuesten and Stephen Sternkopf, both former chefs of Downtown's now-closed north. I was lucky to have tried North when it was open so when I saw the former chefs were preparing the meal for Chef Night, I knew I had to sign up and was so glad I did. The meal was stupendous! The first course was shrimp and corn fritters. The fritters were filled with shrimp and corn and you can visually see the shrimp and corn. It wasn't overly doughy and the sauce was delicious! Chef Andrew described the dish and he told us that the shrimp was locally sourced from Dune Brothers. The second course was noodles with tomato and pepper dashi and grilled fish. The noodles were fresh, but it started to get a little clumpy. The dashi was really flavorful. The third course was miso tres leches cake with sakura whipped cream. This course I was the most excited about and it totally blew my expectations. Chef Andrew told us that they hand picked sakura petals and made their own whipped cream. The tres leches cake was moist, dense, and airy. The dessert was definitely the star of the show. Bravo to chefs Andrew McQuesten and Stephen Sternkopf for a wonderful locally sourced meal. Jean-Marc and the other bartender were also very friendly and accommodating. They checked on all the customers throughout the night and made yummy drinks. I had the Toasted Venture. This is one of the signature cocktails and has Toasted Pumpkin Seed-Infused Misguided Spirits Red Sky Silver Rum/Cynar/St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur/Rosemary Elixir/Mole Bitters. It was very good. Cool bar. Seating is limited but I have never had to wait too long for a seat. The cocktails are amazing. I talked to the bartender about a few drinks on the menu I was torn between and he made something not in the menu that was a blend of everything I liked! Truly impressive and delicious. read more

Last two times we have been in Providence we stopped in. Both times very satisfied. This used to be the space for "Birch" which sadly closed during Covid but we are glad this place took over and became somewhere we want to stop in. Cocktails are great and service is the same. We were here a few weeks back and it was busy. Alot of people showed up close together which is never fun if your a solo bartender, however the bartender was polite and held it down very well. I wish I took better photos, but will make sure to do so when I am back. read more

An awesome cocktail bar! I usually make a reservation to guarantee a spot for any weekend night, but I was able to sit outside with a larger group of friends last minute. The servers were also very kind and turned the heaters on outside for us. Even when seated outside, the servers checked in with us frequently. My personal favorite drink is the Aviation, but honestly all of the drinks are delicious. The craftsmanship of the drinks is also amazing. The bartenders are so talented and can make any drink you request (highly suggest the off menu French 75)! We also ordered some dumplings and fries as snacks for the table. The highlight was the slightly spicy aioli that came on the side of the fries - it was delicious! read more

I truly appreciate any cocktail bar that pays homage to some of the lesser known but still highly revered classics. The square configuration of the bar allows for little creativity in the ways of seating arrangements. Either you sit at the bar, or you don't sit at all. The lofty ceilings amplify the din, so when the bar is full, it can get unpleasantly loud inside. Finally, I must mention: They have castelvetrano olives on their menu. Yes. Correct. Used Opentable to book a reservation for two at the bar, and was surprised to realize how vital it was that we did that - the space is intimate, seating just 12 people comfortably for the entire place. Tiny, but mighty. The space is designed beautifully with edgy artwork, a U-shaped bar, and bold paint. The inner console had **just** enough space for the two bartenders to pass back and forth around each other, and they maneuvered so with ease and sophistication. Like a dance, they moved back and forth around, mixing craft cocktails with precision and skill. We ordered from the premium collection, and were not disappointed. Is this the best cocktail bar in the US? Quite possibly. This is an intimate, beautifully designed, space in Downtown Providence that is ideal for date night or a 1:1 friend catch up. The cocktails are absolutely outstanding- made with the freshest, highest quality ingredients. Even though I wouldn't consider myself a "cocktail-person," I blown away by the craft. I appreciate that you can pick cocktails based on ingredients or their taste profile. The official menu changes seasonally- but you can always order your fav classic cocktail off-menu. If you are don't love cocktails, there are beer, wine, mocktail options. We love coming when Christian is running the bar, but they frequently host "guest bartender" nights so you can try award winning drinks. Lastly, this is definitely a cocktail bar but there "nibbles" are great. Best cheese, olives, fries and crab Rangoons! Great cocktails where Birch used to be. The set up is still very much like Birch: central bar, limited seating in a horseshoe shape. It's intimate and warm, a NYC meets PVD vibe. Our bartender, Christian, was incredibly knowledgeable and talented. My husband doesn't drink, so I was happy to see some creative non alcoholic options as well. The Morning Dew was my favorite (I tried all three!). They can also add alcohol to any of the non alcoholic options, which my friend did by adding vodka to the Sunset Limited. I tried the Fumo Bianco and really enjoyed it. I like the smokey taste of mezcal but I'm not a tequila person, and this struck a very nice balance. Plus, dehydrated red pepper as a garnish?! Very creative. I also tried the Sea Gibson, essentially a dirty martini that tastes of sea asparagus instead of olives. This is a perfect place to start or end the night! read more

Clementine is quickly becoming my favorite spot for a pre-dinner drink or nightcap to end the evening. Located in the former Birch (RIP), this small cocktail bar is a chic, contemporary, and more upscale alternative to the some of the rowdier spots downtown. Seating in the horseshoe shaped bar is limited and if you're like me and don't enjoy standing and drinking, best to come back in 30 minutes or so as the guest turnover rate is relatively fast. The bartenders here are very attentive and knowledgeable and it's clear they take the art of the cocktail very seriously, employing all types of impressive techniques into their drink making. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Fumo Bianco, made with mezcal, luxardo bitters, dry vermouth, roasted bell pepper, and white peppercorn and thought it was very nicely balanced. We had reservations next door at Gracie's and stopped in here for a drink before but realized we didn't have much time so we came back after dinner. Super cute, sophisticated, and sexy little bar but the drinks were a bit disappointing. Maybe it was the drinks we ordered 1. Fast Forward 2. Oaxaca Old Fashioned. From experience, the drinks were not very balanced, could not taste the alcohol at all, and did not have much flavor. The staff, although friendly, were not very helpful either and did not have much personality. You would think at this super quaint and cool cocktail bar that they would be having fun. Tried the mezcal-based Fumo Bianco and the gin-based Sea Gibson. Loved both of them though I liked the former better. The dehydrated red pepper on the Fumo Bianco is an added delight to the otherwise well-made drink.
