Came here after walking downtown Neenah. The name Copperstill Bourbon Bar intimidated me a little bit inside we were met with a friendly tattooed guy behind the bar. This became a serious decision because there are soooooooo many drink choices. And lively boozie concoctions. So many carefully poured glass bottles with expensive whiskeys ryes bourbons Canadians scotches single Malts and Irish whiskeys. There is beer too, on tap and in a bottle. And there's wine too. Omg! I only give 3 stars cuz I did not try the food. I saw people eating what looked like flat bread pizza. They did not give me a bite. Finally. I met an old pal at this gorgeously 1940-1950's reminiscent bar where I had the first autheniic Old Fashioned since my late uncle, a professional bartender from the era, was mixing up a little bit of Heaven. Perfect ambience especially if you want to have real conversation over a real cocktail. Kudos and I will be back. read more

Stayed in Neenah for some work and this place was right next to my hotel. It was fairly busy around 5 but the owner waited on me quickly and answered my question. They had a rare Jack Daniels find and I asked him about. He did caution that it was fairly hot and it'd probably need some ice to dilute it a little. I ordered it with the ice on the side. As I was bringing it to my mouth I could already tell what he meant. A couple ice cubes later and it was much more drinkable! I can't say enough great things about this bar! We love it and we are weekly patrons. Their happy hour specials are fantastic. The cocktails are wonderful and who can beat the price of their freshly made, delicious pizzas? Their bourbon selection is the best outside of Kentucky and they know their stuff. What a great place! A bourbon bar in the heart of Wisconsin with great service, good people and delicious flat bread pizzas and owned and operated by two local Neenah brothers with decades of experience in the bar and restaurant biz. This place is definately set apart from the other local estiblishments in the Neenah area with thier wide selection of whiskeys and whiskey related cocktails. I have to say that the Bourbon Mule is one of my favorite specialty cocktails that they offer. If you are not a whiskey drinker, don't fret as there is a full liquor selection, 6 beer taps and a good selection of domestic and premium bottled and canned beer. They sport a unique "jukebox" as well. A whiskey barrel full of vinyl albums that you can pick through and hand to the bartender to play. The decor is very old world pub like and they have a great patio that is directly across from where the Neenah community summer concerts are held every other Wednesday night, which also happens to be the Neenah harbor for anyone who wants to sail in. They also provide occasional live music events themselves. If you have a chance to stop by, I doubt you will regret your visit. If you are a visitor to the area, you should leave with great memories and if you are a local, you may have just found yourself a new favorite hangout. read more

Was looking for a place for a night cap after watching college football. This place was perfect! Very quaint, warm and inviting. Spacious bar and several tables inside. The drink menu had a nice variety. My first drink was an old fashioned which was very good. Classic cocktail for a cold night. Enjoyed one more drink which was the Honey bee. This was my favorite. Sugared rim with honey whisky and a good mix of others. My husband had coffee and Baileys which was served in a nice big mug. Had a big screen tv on which was perfect to finish college games. This bar has the perfect location but the owner is such a jerk! People have said this but I've never experienced this until tonight. The patio is empty because there is a storm coming. My friend reserved three tables for our bunco group and this jerk came out and dismantled our group of tables saying that you can't reserve tables. There is no one else here!!! When my friend complained he said we should go somewhere else. I don't think I'll be back. read more

I quickly fell in love with the Copper Still upon arrival at the Riverwalk Hotel for a weekend in Neenah. This place is in a beautiful historic building. They have an excellent selection of whiskey of which the bartender is very knowledgeable. The prices are very reasonable. Both bartenders we encountered, Tom and Tony, were very friendly and welcoming. I felt right at home here, it was great. read more

Love this location as it is perfect to listen to music set up by Future Neenah sponsors but the owner is very rude and actually nasty to his customers. I had heard this from MANY people before but actually experienced this myself last night. He actually told me he didn't need my business to go elsewhere when we were simply moving tables to accommodate our friends. No waitress service outside either and when you go in to get a drink, they are very crabby and unfriendly. Yes eight of us left and took our business elsewhere and will never be back! read more

This is a great "neighborhood bar" where you always feel welcome. It is a smaller intimate bar that has great drinks and even better service. Tony and Tom are open to when we had specific requests for a Christmas party and were very accommodating of our raucousness. Copperstill has an incredible atmosphere: the wood paneling makes it warm and inviting, the low lighting offers a comfortable mood, and the music always suits the vibe of the interior. Their cocktails are wonderfully crafted, and truly the only place I trust to make a great goddamn drink regardless of who is serving it. Plus they've got DELICIOUS flatbreads. I was unsure the first time since I was unaware that they make them in-house, but they are honestly some of the best in the valley. Their staff is unique: they all have different personalities but are all attentive, care about their craft, and make you feel at home. The food and whiskey were great but the customer service was not. Came in on a Saturday evening with my brother and 81 yr old grandma. Place wasn't busy yet, and we sat at a table for 15 minutes w/o service before I had to ask if we should be doing anything to get some drinks. After being told we needed to order at the bar (like my grandma should have to walk up and order?), I gathered our collective needs and went up. When our drinks were ready, the not-busy bartender called to us telling us to come get our drinks. Even if you're not a fan of whiskey, Copperstill Bourbon Bar is a great place to check out. They have an excellent selection of signature cocktails bound to please a wide range of tastes. There is of course a wide range of whiskey to choose from. All the regions are represented. Their made from scratch flat bread pizzas are delicious with tons of options to choose from. If you stop in for lunch they offer grilled pannini sandwiches and a soup of the day. All their food and drinks are very reasonably priced. I'm not a fan of whiskey but this place is slowly becoming my bar of choice since opening recently. Atmosphere is great at this historic property. Music is good and not too loud. And there isn't an overabundance of TVs everywhere. Just a small one in the corner. Their specialty cocktails are very creative and taste great. The selection of bourbons and whiskeys is extremely impressive. If you're hungry they hand make pizzas starting at $5. They're big enough for one or two people. They taste great and aren't greasy at all. The staff is friendly and familiar with the locals. Quality of the drinks are better than most local establishments and the prices might be a bit higher because of that. But I think the prices are extremely fair for what you're getting. And they constantly seem to be having great happy hour specials/service industry specials/etc. Live music is played a couple nights a week as well. This place seems to get busier and busier as word spreads about this great new bar. read more

If you want a review about their whiskey selection, move on. I was in Neenah to be with my wife at her father's deathbed at a nearby hospital. We had just arrived from out-of-town, hadn't eaten anything, and were facing a night of sleeping in a hospital room to monitor her dad's decline. The hospital cafeteria was closed and we wanted something more substantial than vending machine fare. It was about 10:30 PM on a Wednesday and, as we had no transportation, we searched for somewhere within walking distance from the hospital. As you can imagine, it was slim pickings at that hour in Neenah. We called a different establishment, but their kitchen was closed, so they recommended The Copperstill. I tried phoning in a carry-out order, but no one answered. Their website advertised that they were open until 2 AM, so I decided to take my chances and walk there from the hospital. After making the trek on foot (in the rain) I arrived and told the bartender my situation. He joked about how wet I looked, and politely informed me that, because he closed the kitchen early that evening (due to a lack of customers), it would not be possible for me to purchase food. He also mentioned that the kitchen was normally open for another hour (good to know because....?). Apparently re-opening the kitchen that evening to make flatbread pizzas was asking the impossible-- even for the sole customer in the bar. I suppose that the inference here is that they must do pretty decent business every other night of the week (and/or perhaps he was simply too involved in his text messages to be bothered making money). So I walked back to the hospital, soaked, empty-handed and hungry-- much to my wife's disappointment. Ultimately, it is up to the Copperstill management how they conduct business, even if that means being (in my opinion) uncompassionate. All I can say is that I have no intention of going back when I visit. read more
