I had some black spots on my relatively brand new car. It was only about 5 months old so I wanted the car to look flawless. I went here because it had many good reviews and was one of reputable places in town. I showed it to Cliff to make sure he can get rid of these spots and he ensured he knows how to deal with new paints. He charged $150 for basic detailing and interior vacuum. The result was sloppy at best and there were water marks, swirls, and black spots were still intact and all over. I've done many detailing and waxing before and this type of work is probably worth $30. I would probably stay away if your expectation is high. read more

Brought my car to Cliffs today. They did an amazing job detailing the interior. My car was covered in my dogs hair. The short stiff kind that once embedded refuses to leave. The backseat and floors were especially bad with six years of dog hair. The team at Cliffs did an amazing job at a reasonable price. The customer service is top notch as well. Cliff was recommended by a close friend of ours--the car was long overdue for a good detailing so we decided to make an appointment. It was a quick and easy process and we were able to get the car scheduled in just a few days. We made sure to ask Cliff if he'd also be able to clean the front headlights (over the years they had gotten a bit dull) and he said no problem, he could buff them and would only charge a bit extra for it. When we got the car back, it looked like the day we bought it--it was super clean both on the outside and the inside (and the headlights were nearly shiny again!). He had his mask on and stepped away from the car he was detailing to perfection to help me out. It was a challenging mess to clean but he figured it out. I wanted an interior detail done on my 4runner. I called Cliff and he is very friendly and personable. He is a very accommodating with his schedule. The reason I gave 1 star is because I paid $150 for the interior clean and had to clean 3 separate locations when I got home (spent 2 hours of my own time). I have pictures of the areas (before/after). They weren't hard to clean. They were just missed entirely. I basically paid for a full interior clean and feel it was not done completely. He came highly recommended and I feel let down. He is a nice guy, but if I have to clean something I just paid to be cleaned, I feel ripped off. I will not recommend nor be back. I feel I would have gotten a better job from Splash for less money. read more

Short version: Five-star review for Cliff and I absolutely recommend him. He was friendly, did a good job, and was reasonably priced. Perhaps most importantly, he made a mistake - and corrected it the right way when I called him to ask about it! Long version: I have never had my '96 minivan cleaned, so it needed it. More importantly, the back seat folds down into a "stow and go" compartment for a larger trunk. A few weeks ago, I lifted up the seat - and discovered that it was soaking wet with an inch of water in the compartment. For $250, Cliff detailed the entire interior, thoroughly cleaned the ruined trunk, and replaced the insulation below the carpet. $250 is a lot, but not for the hours this kind of job would cost. (Just detailing would have been about $150, if I recall correctly.) Also, Cliff came to me, picked up my car leaving his in my apartment parking lot, then swapped them back at the end of the day. So helpful and incredibly convenient! Initially, it seemed Cliff did a great job. Unfortunately, I found the next day that he had not put the back seat down again after cleaning the stow-and-go compartment, leaving a major stain in the folded-down floor. I texted him a picture and called him about it - and he was embarrassed to have missed it and very apologetic, and I didn't even have to ask if he would clean it as part of the original fee. As soon as our schedules aligned, he had it taken care of. My motto is, we all make mistakes - what matters is how we handle them. And Cliff handled it perfectly. That gets anyone an extra star in my book. Thanks, Cliff! Hopefully I won't need another detailing, but I'll recommend him to any friend who does. read more

I used this place twice to get my car detailed. Once to get out a stain and once before it back in. Cliff is so incredibly nice and his prices are very reasonable. I think it was 50 for a complete car detail. He opens really early so you can drop off your car before the work day. You can also wait at the garage. I have never met Cliff, but he knows my car more intimately than any stranger should. He has had hands and brushes and cloths in places that no one should ever go without at least buying the car a drink first. Should this sort of behaviour be rewarded? I say yes! Cliff is willing to pick up my car from my house as early in the morning as I can leave my keys for him, he keeps it at his shop for about 2 hours and returns in in gleaming, showroom condition. He works hard, he is honest, and he delivers on his promises. If more businesses ran like this there would be no poverty, the world would be peaceful and loving, and we would be able to stop global warming. As it is, I'm really glad my car is clean. read more

Cliff is incredibly polite, does his job really well, and even was nice enough to drop me off and pick me up at my apt 10 mins away from his place so I could do other things while he was cleaning the car. I had never had my car detailed before, so he walked me through the various options and told me exactly what he was going to do, how long it would take and what it would cost (he ended up being a bit faster than he had thought and was honest enough to charge me less than he had originally quoted :) ). He did a full interior detail, and after 3.5 hours of work, the car was spotless. He shampooed all the seats, vacuumed every square inch, cleaned the windshield and all the windows (on the inside) and found nooks and crannies to clean I didn't know existed. I probably wouldn't use this service more than once every year or two since its not cheap and only necessary after a lot of hard use and abuse, but next time I need the inside cleaned I know how to go to. I know its cheaper at Splash or other chains, but they clearly don't have the experience Cliff does, and I feel more comfortable and happy supporting a local business whose owner I immediately trusted than a chain where the employees are different every time I go. Two suggestions: - call in advance. When I called it was a week until he had the next spot open. -Unless you like sweet chemical-y smells, ask not to have the air "freshener" put in at the end. I never use those tree things--and for good reason--and he left one in the car after cleaning it. At first I thought it was the cleaning supplies he had used that left the smell and I wasn't thrilled, but once I threw out the little tree freshener, the smell was gone almost immediately. This place is the best. You should never go anywhere else but here. I called on a Tuesday because I would have a second car, and be able to get my truck detailed, and he took the truck to detail the very next day! Then, I got caught at work and he literally stayed two hours and waited for me, even though it made him very late for church. How sweet is this man, to give up his own needs to help me? And let's talk about the quality. Excellent. Extraordinary. It's like a new truck inside. It had been disgusting- I have two kids. Cheerios, sticky hands on the windows, melted ice cream, muddy foot prints, sticky cup holders, just, nasty. He had the whole thing ship shape in one day. Cliff is a genius. I brought my brand new red mini cooper to him because a fruit tree had dropped its fall berries on the car and had practically eaten into the paint. Nothing I did could remove the berry stains. Cliff gradually tried one product after another until he got a combination that removed the stains while not damaging the paint finish. He then completed the job with a wax to protect the car not only from the cleaning it had just had but the wax will last through most of the winter. He was thorough, professional, and really nice. I've never been to a detailer before, so I cannot compare prices. But I do know that his gracious, helpful and professional service is worth every penny I spent. And speaking of pennies, as I was driving away after having received the estimate, he called after me because he had just thought of a less expensive alternative. Saved me $30. My husband runs a nature park and his Prius is used like a pick-up truck, carting lawn equipment, mulch, bird feeders, etc. Between the caked-on dirt and grime, sunflower seed shells, and spilled coffees, the inside was a mess! Cliff returned the call within minutes and talked me through my options and all that's included for the price quoted. They took great care of me and my car, chatting with me as they worked, and ensuring that I was comfortable, safe, and had whatever I needed. I've never paid much mind to auto detailing, etc., which is probably why my car needed so much attention. I was searching for a good place to get my car detailed (about to take it in as a trade-in so it needed to look it's best!) I live mid state but the best reviews were for Cliff's in New Haven. I was doing this very last minute and I called on a Friday to get in on maybe Sat.. they were too busy but he offered to come in on Sunday to do it for me! Unbelievable. The reviews are totally accurate;they did an awesome job on the car (I have dogs..German Shepherds so the hair was terrible) It looked brand new, and the price was extremely reasonable. Cliff and everyone who works there were incredibly friendly and helpful and professional. I took the car in to the dealer, and I know I got at least $700 more for the trade in than I would have. I bought a used car from a friend and it was incredibly dirty, especially on the inside. I called Cliff and asked if he did green detailing (with all natural products). He said he could. He picked up the car from me (one of the absolute BEST parts of his services). He got the car back to me later that day. The car looked gorgeous, but it smelled like Windex. We called and talked about it and it turned out we had miscommunicated about exactly what "green" meant. Because I need my car to be totally chemical free he agreed to re-do the job at no extra cost with seventh generation products! The result was totally scent free and safe for a friend of mine who is extraordinarily sensitive to scents and chemical residues.
