I have used this company for our last 2 houses. The first experience with them was wonderful. This 2nd house we wanted to do a new roof then Solar, air conditioners, heaters, ducting. Whole house fan, attic and garage insulation and a generator to run everything if we lost power. Jason came out again. We talked about our very long list. Soon we were scheduled. We worked a lot with Derrick, he was awesome. He always called us back. The workers were always polite and kept our property clean. Kept us in the know on what and when was happening. After 22 years, it was time to replace our HVAC system and our builder recommended CES. They were very professional and accommodating as they scheduled around our busy summer schedule. Jessie was friendly and helpful when it came to setting up the job and later the required follow up inspections. Derek determined and explained the scope of our project and he was always available by phone. He was on hand to introduce us to Andrew & Eric who did a great job swapping out the units/compressors. They patiently installed, linked and explained the new wireless thermostats so that we could adjust all 4 thermostat zones from anywhere with our cell phones. I can see from other reviews that many of you received prompt service (even during busy high temperature time) and the problem fixed. Unfortunately that is not the case with me. Last summer had a problem with one of the wall mini split units in a bedroom. Initially promptly came out but blamed issue on maintenance-- after several visits over several weeks turns out it was a bad unit. They did eventually fix but no air in bedrooms for a good portion of summer. Moving on to this year. I have the ducted heating/air in living areas. It hadn't been on for over a year because of a remodel. When it was on for less than 2-hours it leaked--ruining my new ceiling not to mention no cooling. Called but couldn't get an appointment for almost a week. Reminder the Chico temperature this past week in the 100s. Again repair person initially said a maintenance issue related to "condensation from freezing". When I reiterated the unit was just turned on--no time for condensation to build up, he looked further and found a leaky cap in the line. He "assured" me problem fixed. Next day (yesterday) started leaking again--after hours so left message--they did promptly call but no appointment for nearly a week. So once again no cooling!! Initially (summer 2018) when this company put in my heating/air and solar panels they were good--easy to work with and a decent price for what I had done. Probably would have rated at 4-5 stars. They did leave some unfinished work where they put the return air but not a big issue for me because had planned remodel anyway. It just seems that when something goes wrong they want to blame the customer--their go to is maintenance. Also be aware , what they put in their documentation didn't match what they told me. I was never given a copy. I found out what was documented when called company with concerns. If going with this company be sure to ask for a copy of what they are documenting. This whole situation is so frustrating!Congrats to all that is receiving good service--a hassle but for me looking elsewhere. read more

We rent a duplex and our landlord finally decided it was time to replace the 47 year old central HVAC that was original to our unit (seriously, it was that old). The duplex had two HVACs, one for each unit in the building. They each had an indoor furnace with a separate outside cooling unit for the AC that was connect to the furnace with coolant lines. Climate Masters came out and had the central heating and air units pulled out and replaced in both units in under a day. They replaced everything but the coolant lines, rewired the units to be up to code and everything. Left the place clean and were very nice. Great work. Five stars just for that. About 10 months later our AC started to fail in the middle of the day. It was well over 100 degrees out so we at first thought it was just the heat and the poor insulation in the old building causing the problem. By that evening it was approaching 90 degrees in the house and the AC clearly wasn't working correctly. Because we have a family member with breathing problems that can't handle the heat we made an emergency call to Climate Masters and they sent a tech out *that night*. He worked in the dark to get our unit cooling again and was very nice and did a great job. He even checked up on us a few days later to make sure everything was okay. I can't overstate how pleased I am with them. read more

Believe me, you are really vulnerable when you need a new H/A unit unless you do the research and compare. Company A promised a lifetime guarantee, but that catch was parts only, they still charge for the labor. Company B said I only needed to fix leaking vents to the tune of $5000. Not true and they were not even certified by PG&E for the rebate and it turns out the vents tested out to be just fine! Finally I found Jason at Climate Masters. I can,t count the number of e mails and phone calls but every question was answered to my full satisfaction. So I got a top end unit at a fair price and since everything was done strictly to code, I got some healthy rebates. The unit he recommended is the American Standard, quiet, efficient and he gave me a 10 year parts and labor warranty. The unit was very neatly installed, on schedule as promised. I am totally satisfied. Oh, and when a trouble light came on after I had the unit for a year, there were going to have a tech out that day. (The light went off on it's own) I also appreciate that the company is local and supports community arts like the Northstate Symphony. read more

Our AC Died Earlier this year and we ended up needing a whole new system, Jason the owner came and gave us an estimate, he was very nice, happy to explain and teach us about the whole process and what not, and after we got a few estimates, they actually ended up being significantly lower than everyone else. Install was fast and the new system is much more efficient than our old one. Now, for the reason they didn't receive a full 5 stars, their secretary, Tawnya, was a VERY nice lady, however, she was completely slacking in doing anything, every time we called. If i had a question, she would have someone call me back "in a few minutes", which ended up being the next day, basically any timeline she gives you should be multiplied by 10. Other than that, they are great guys to work with. read more

It's been a year since Climate and Energy Solutions installed solar on our house, and we couldn't be happier. We saved thousands on our utilities over the year. We were afraid our "true-up" statement from PG&E at the end of the year might be thousands, but it was only a few hundred. Jason, the owner, is a man of high integrity and great values and it is reflected in his entire company. We had a tiny ripple with the placement of the solar panels too close to the edge of the roof, but as soon as this was brought to Jason's attention it was corrected immediately. Fantastic company. Do not recommend. The technician came out promptly and did get the unit started. A few short hours later, the unit quit working and had the same problem. A call to Climate energy to report their failure to fix it correctly, resulted in being told the unit had to be replaced and couldn't be fixed which prompted me to ask why they would charge me to fix something that couldn't be fixed and had to be replaced. I decided to get a second opinion before spending thousands on a new unit and the new technician found that the relay switch was bad, something that climate energy solutions completely missed. They disconnected the capacitor climate energy installed and instead replaced the relay switch. The diagnostics this new company ran, were totally different from the ones climate energy did and gave a different impression on the over health of the unit. Is it old, yes.. does it need to be replaced, NO. My call to climate energy prompted a call from the owner, Jason, who launched into a long speech about it's an electrical unit and things go wrong all the time, if the unit quit working after their tech left, it's because different parts broke after their tech left and not because they did a poor job. I told Jason that I had hired another company to come out and give me a second opinion and reported their findings and asked how their diagnostic tests could be so different from the ones their tech reported. Jason's response was that it's an electrical unit, things go wrong and change all the time. They are unpredictable and not their techs fault if their readings or results on their tests were different or inaccurate. In the end, Jason's position was " that their job was to get the unit started, not to fix it." " After all, that's what the customer wants, and their fix can last days, weeks or sometimes months." In Jason's opinion, even though they failed to fix the unit, not only did they do the job they were hired to do, but they did it well. I disagree. In the end, the unit was fixed by the second company and for a great deal less than what climate energy solutions charged. It's unfair and in a sense, dishonest to charge for a job that was not only faulty but was also inadequate. read more

All of the people at Climate Solutions have been great to work with! As a Realtor I use them regularly for HVAC inspections and work. They are always on time, reasonably priced and friendly to work with. As a landlord I also use them on my personal rentals and they are quick to help in an emergency, like this week's very hot temperatures and a renters A/C going out. We live in Studio apartment and had climate masters come out today. The AC seemed like at times it would not produce much cold air. Wes came out and turns out it was a dirty air filter and other parts of AC that needed some cleaning. Wes was very friendly and when I asked questions about products or what he was doing he was very personable, explained things well, and told me to clean the filter about once a month. So, its 106F and both my AC units are down. I have been paying for maintenance on both units every 6 months for 2 years with Climate & Energy Solutions. Suspicious, I called a different company to come out which is when I found out my concerns were warranted. The maintenance was not being done and directly lead to the failure of both units. In the past 2 years using this company, I was charged a second service call to flip a breaker which the technician had (deliberately???) left turned off after a service call. I have had a unit stop working within 24 hours of service and was charged a weekend emergency call when I called them back out. The technician said, "The new part caused another part, that was probably worn out, to fail." Okay. I paid the bill. Twice, I have gotten double billed for services and had to prove I paid them. One of those times they threatened me with sending my account to collections. Beware! I won't be using this company again and I am warning everybody I know. read more

Jason and his team did an amazing job with our difficult project. My Mother's house has never had heating and cooling and also has no crawl space or attic. Jason suggested split units in each bedroom and a few larger units for the main living space. He also upgraded our pool pump and water heater to make them more energy efficient! We also got solar to help off set the cost of the new HVAC unit and the fact that my Mom has never paid a "normal" PG &E bill and would probably freak out when she saw a bill for more than $100. Jason discussed all the options and walked us through the project. We just got our first "bill" and she used half as much power as she used this time last year, mainly due to the upgraded pool pump and that she only has to heat the rooms she is using daily! CAES is also the ONLY company contracted with PG&E in Chico so they help you get all the rebates from them! Couldn't be happier and I look forward to doing other projects with Jason and his team in the future. read more

My experience has been horrifying. Told by sales rep and owner, we'd receive rebate from PGE under program, Jason. Derek came out and we saw a reference to rebate going to Contractor. Asked him about it as rebate goes to us when job complete. He explained what that meant in contract, was they would lower our loan amount or send us the full rebate once PG&E let them know what it was. I specifically asked if the amount would come off the financed amount; he said either that or they would send money to me. Okay. I told him that if that is what it states; that we get a reduced financed amount or the rebate, then we would sign. After job done, was told all rebate goes to them and none to us. After explaining, for hours, what was sold us and what transpired. Jason, decided to tell us they wouldn't know the amount until PG&E gave it to them, but they would call and find out how much it would be and cut us a check. They came out with a check in amount of $907.00 and some odd cents. We found out when QA inspector came out, the rebate was $4,350.00. That was all to come to us; They lied to get the job. When confronted with the promises and explanations, they were even more devious by rushing a check to us well under the full rebate. The crew was great; they are not. They did not do services promised and basically stole our rebate. We did not sign a contract for the rebate going anywhere but to us. Horrible Do not trust. Do not use. My husband works with contractors and he is horrified of how we were treated. Bait and switch. read more

RIP OFF COMPANY...had them come out and fix the hvac. They came out in December but tenant said never came back. They are trying to charge me for a new part that was never put in. Had another contractor come out and they said who ever serviced it bypassed the relay circuit. Had the other company put a new one in because it was no good. Now 6 months later they are asking for payment and threatening to put it on my credit report by strong arming me... BEWARE STAY AWAY!!!!! read more
