They used high pressure tactics on my husband and I. We were made to feel like we didn't have much of an option other than to purchase a new AC unit that was twice the price that Air Repair HVAC provided us with. It turns out that their competitor was also charging us more than double for the biannual maintenance check than Air Repair HVAC charges. Last year I got a new system for my house and everything went smoothly and my new system has been working great. By 2:10pm I called the office since there had been no call or update. I was told the tech was out on another hi that had taken longer than expected and he should be able to get to my home "soon." I expressed my dismay at the fact I had not had any communication from the tech. I also asked how long the service would take once the tech did arrive. I was told it would take about 90 minutes. I had already waited all day and now I was expected to spend another 90-120 minutes waiting for the tech to arrive and perform the service!! I found this unacceptable! I said i would need to reschedule but would need a morning appointment time. I was told they could come the next day, but, once again, I would have to be available between 8:00am and 2:00pm!! However, he brought back down from the roof, pictures of rust, oil leaks and a few burned-out resistors along with detailed explanations of where things were headed with likely steep replacemet/repair costs in the future. Not only so, but the refrigerant in my a/c unit was no longer a legal replacement in California, should leaks occur there. The motor bearings were becoming noisily worn as well. From the very first Saturday contact with a call from James within 10 minutes of my YELP request, to the field visit from Marlon on the same day, to the installatin of a brand new heat pump system only two days later on Monday by two guys up on the roof enduring the at-least 106-degree brutal temperatures, and the skillful crane operator who clearly knew what he was doing, the professionalism, great care and willingness to get it all done right was seamless and unwavering. This time it was a tricky intermittent problem with the fan running constantly. The first time he came out in started to work properly. He spent several hours in the heat testing everything. It took a second trip while the problem was continuing and again after more time on my very hot roof he figured it out. He didn't have to because he had a date for tomorrow, but he made sure it got done because we have a baby in the house and a breed of dog that is not heat intolerant. Regardless to the confusion that happened with the insurance company walter stayed in touch with me every step of the way and he made sure that I knew what was happening every step of the way.
