It is about 15 years old and the felts…read moreneeded work (he did a 're-shape and decompression' - i.e. he sanded off the wear marks on the tips of the hammers and did with the pokey thing. I cannot really expressed how much this improved the sound. Here are a few impressions: the tone is smoother, and also more focussed. THe accents are very clear and defined without having to hit the key too hard. The soft parts are more singing and colorful. It is easier to bring out the voices. The leading voice is very clear and bell-like. I could just go on and on - as I play it I keep hearing more good qualities. I am working on an Impromtu by Schubert, a Chopin Ballade, and Beethoven's opus 109. It is like being a painter and being handed a pallette of bright pure colors, where before you had only a selection of dull and dark.
