I really like Dr. Crear and some of the PAs so it's a shame that the messaging service is not held to a high standard. Honestly, it's like talking to a child...but one who clearly uses AI to polish their grammar. The level of incompetence - with incorrect prescriptions called in and incorrect information relayed - is concerning. I hope they don't have these medical assistants completing tasks that require common sense, like relaying important test results. I know practices are trying to increase profits, especially those practices that are owned by private equity (which this place may be--IDK). But please consider your patients. Don't run a competent practice into the ground by having these assistants do what medical professionals should be doing. Employ some actual nurses to answer patient questions for god's sake, not just "medical assistants."

I'm surprised there aren't any reviews of her yet - she runs a small practice but she's a big deal. My first appointment with her was last fall. I was overdue for my annual and, like any normal human being, wasn't looking forward to it. A good friend recommended her with a glowing review. My intention was to call the office, just to ask if she was accepting new patients (she only accepts 600-800 so I figured my chances of getting in were slim). Much to my surprise, Dr. Sorensen was the one to answer the phone! That impressed me enough that I scheduled an appointment for the next week. My first impression of Dr. Sorensen was excellent, and things only got better from there. She literally does everything - she is a one-woman staff, which means she does everything from checking your vitals to dealing with insurance. This approach means that you get to spend more time with her, which means that you feel like anything but just another patient. She also takes a conservative approach to medicine, so when I told her about my occasional anxiety, she recommended things like yoga instead of jumping to more invasive/expensive treatments. Best part of my experience with her? I ended up having a bit of follow-up work the next day, and was obviously concerned about the results. She got back to me the next morning to let me know all was OK and thoroughly explain everything. And the day after that, I got my pap results back. That's right...TWO DAYS after my appointment I got my pap results! I'm used to waiting a minimum of two weeks. She called as soon as she got the results because she didn't want me to worry longer than I needed to...wow. If you are looking for a doctor who uses modern technology (online scheduling, mostly paperless, etc.) but won't provide you with the typical, cold doctor's experience, I strongly recommend Dr. Sorensen.

My initial visit was very through and the Dr took as much time as was needed to understand my medical history, make suggestions, ask questions and actually sit down and have a conversation! That is impressive in todays world. Her practice is purposefully small, self-managed and her interest in medicine and people is clearly visible in how she runs her business and treats her patients. I nearly fell out of my chair when I called to schedule an appointment and Dr Sorensen answered the phone herself. Unheard of! She also makes herself available on nights and weekends to answer calls or come to the office in case urgent issues arise. I believe she truly cares about her patients and wants to manage her practice with the best technology and information available to her. She leverages technology to allow her to have the time to treat the patients, rather than using technology as a crutch to fit more patients into her day. I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. Sorensen, her sense of professionalism was first rate and she has a compassionate manner that is ideal for families looking for a Family Practice. If all small businesses could be run in the same manner Dr Sorensen is running her business, we would have a true sense of what community really means.

She put me on GLP1s, scheduled me with their Health Coach and washed her hands of me. I never saw her again. 6 months later, the 2nd ultrasound revealed there was never a nodule and that it was just a vein. Scumpia never reached out to me. Rhonda at the front desk stated more than once that they would only collect the $250 fee when I saw Scumpia. They collected it each and every time I went to that office, and Rhonda denied ever saying the Health Coach wouldn't have the fee. I moved over to MyBSW because I stopped trusting the care Scumpia offers at this office. ALL Health Coach appointments are FREE through them. Additionally, Scumpia's office inactivated my portal access when I canceled the continued care for GLP1s (not endocronology) so now all the tests they have on file are hidden. Avoid this office at all costs. You'll be put through the ringer and charged for no reason.

She looked at me and smiled like I said something funny, and told me I'm not diagnosable unless it's 7 or above. I said "my information is from someone who was in the medical field," and she immediately snapped back "well then you can go talk to them." She then tried to tell me that my symptoms aren't from my thyroid and that I don't have a hormonal imbalance, which is false because I have recent bloodwork showing hormonal imbalance. I brought this up and she said "well you refused my treatment for obesity", which was completely unrelated to what we were talking about. Side note here: if you're remotely overweight she will bring it up multiple times. I declined scheduling a next appointment and she seemed confused and asked me twice why I was "so upset" despite calmly holding my ground. Maybe she's a good doctor if you keep your mouth shut and don't ask any questions about your treatment, but I'm not that kind of woman. If you disagree from a professional standpoint, that's normal, but a patient shouldn't be spoken to like they're stupid and don't know the first thing about their own body and family history.

My prescription was suddenly revoked after it had already been sent in and paid for, and I was told she could no longer continue my care. It felt like I was being punished for being honest. I was mischaracterized, dismissed, and made to feel like I had done something wrong just for asking questions and advocating for myself. My baby is now healthy and thriving, and I'm so grateful for that, but the entire experience left me traumatized and afraid to go through pregnancy again. From the start, there were warning signs I should have paid attention to. Every appointment involved waiting four or more hours past the scheduled time, which showed how overbooked the practice was. At my 20-week anatomy scan, the sonographer mentioned seeing something on the baby's brain. That comment caused me immense anxiety, and I later learned it was unprofessional for a sonographer to share findings before a doctor reviewed them. When I asked to meet with Dr. Wang to discuss the results, she brushed me off and treated me like I was overreacting. That day I waited four hours to see her. After the scheduled C-section, I fainted when my catheter was removed due to blood loss. My hemoglobin levels dropped dangerously low, and I later realized I had been hemorrhaging. Dr. Wang and her nurse practitioner saw me once the next day, barely acknowledged what had happened, and discharged me less than 48 hours after surgery. Two days after returning home, I developed severe swelling and bruising across my abdomen. I had to leave my newborn and go back to the office, where Dr. Wang told me I had a "mango-sized" hematoma and recommended another surgery that same week under anesthesia. She said if I didn't do it, I might "look pregnant for months." She was cold and dismissive when I told her I was terrified, and when I begged her through the patient portal to call me afterward, she refused. But after spending at least an HOUR every year playing mediator between the doctor, insurance company, and lab, it's starting to feel less like "oops" and more like a seasonal tradition. Usually they eventually fix it after I call enough times. Other times I've honestly just paid it because I value my sanity. This there were two tests I knew insurance wouldn't cover, paid for them upfront with my credit card, had the doctor separate them on a different form, AND asked for a receipt. The receipt only had the amount paid -- no description. Which already felt a little "interesting." Convenient that for some reason they have no way of putting a description what I paid for on this but every time they send me a bill it has a very accurate description of what they are billing me for. It's sad that it comes to me having to cord this interaction to protect myself. So I asked on video: "So these definitely will not be billed to insurance since I'm paying here?" Receptionist: "Yes." Fast forward to this week: guess who just got billed $36 for those exact same tests. At this point I'm not even mad about the money. It's the principle. Because I know a lot of people probably just sigh dramatically, pay the $30, and move on. But no. Not this year. This year I will be returning like a low-budget legal drama with my receipt, my credit card statement, AND my little video clip. Honestly the phlebotomists are sweet, but the front office acts like kindness costs extra. They are shockingly rude! So if this place keeps overbilling you too: fight it. Even if it's annoying.
