Trouble with the big stores is I can never find the little parts I need. The bins are a wreck and nobody has a clue. At Do It Best Hardware, everything is in its place and the staff know every item in the store. Don't spend 30-minutes looking for a 20-cent washer in one of the big discount stores. Pay a little more, maybe a nickle, and cut your frustration exponentially. It is worth all five pennies.

They're also incredibly informative and helpful. I recently purchased some herbs from Ed's and their team meets you at the entrance to try to guide and assist you. It's a nice touch. Once you move on to the area where the herbs are, other folks will assist you there as well. Additionally, the selection of herbs is superior and more varied than what you'd find in the nearby home stores. Ed's also carries a ton of flowers - fortunately they are around to answer questions because the selection can be overwhelming. Bottom line: there is no better place in the area for landscape that beats Ed's. Even for Christmas trees or herbs.
