Zero stars if optional! I walked in and immediately smelled the stench of bird feces which was everywhere. They allow the parakeets to roam freely, which is not safe for them or us. The room was filthy , especially the bathroom. Seriously, it has to be a health hazard. It was very hot and humid inside, no ac running. I was greeted by an older Chinese man with trembling hands who wanted to cut my hair. Edward scissor hands came to mind. I give this five-star review based mainly on how they treated my daughter after she received a terrible haircut at another salon. She had asked for a razor cut and the lady that cut her hair did a horrible job and she called us in tears. We looked online and found that this was the closest place to her. We called the salon and asked if they had a stylist that could do a razor cut. Varanee was the one that answered the phone and said she could do a razor cut since she had been doing them for years. She fixed my daughter up with a great haircut. My daughter called ecstatic about the way her hair looked. Her day changed from bad to a good with a few snips of the scissors. My wife and I both decided to get our most recent haircuts there and have been very happy. Varanee cut her hair (which is very curly) and did a great job. It's hard to find a stylist that can work with her curls. Alam cuts my hair and he is great too. Crisp lines and he makes sure everything is just right before taking off your cape. This is the only place I will go. My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing and a 1-star rating is terrible read more

Extremely unsatisfied with the fact that I was robbed for an extra $15 when I went to go pay. Walked in asked for a shape up only and was told it was $20. After it was done and processed to go pay. I was told it's $35 not $20 as the barber said it was a "haircut". Even though he did not cut my hair all he did was shape it up. I will leave zero stars if possible would not recommend. read more

Came to this place yesterday for the first time. I urgently needed a haircut before I got to work. Saw this place on my way to Publix and decided to give it a chance. The place is nothing fancy, but for sure you'll get great service. Ms. Varnee is the sweetest. She noticed that my hair was uneven and she corrected it. There were other members of staff sitting outside and none of them acknowledge the presence of a customer (me), so that was a first bad impression. The good news: I requested a simple style of cut, and I pretty much received exactly what I asked for, and they were willing/able to take me as a walk-in rather quickly. That was the positive part. I had done zero research of this salon prior to going in. It is located immediately next door to the grocery I've been using for double-digit years, and I did it entirely based on convenience, and nothing more. Once inside I immediately began to question my decision, but decided to get past some of the visuals and accept that I'd only be there for a short while. In these unique and challenging times we are in, there simply MUST be full compliance regarding mask wearing and sanitation. Beyond those problems that were observed, I was somewhat aghast at the amount of 'stuff' that is piled up here, there, and everywhere. There are people who can easily assist businesses with getting a place organized and then keeping it that way, Heck, there are free YouTube videos that would be a big help. For some of us, it is a huge turnoff of see extreme levels of clutter. Each stylist has there own choice of audio entertainment playing at their station, all 'blending' together. Now you have to add the free-roaming wildlife that takes place daily. There are birds wandering about, occasionally squawking and flapping for attention. My stylist would shoo one of them from under my chair by using a hair dryer. Had I experienced one flying over, or landing on, me it would have been a Game Over situation. I did not see any bird poop, but I can't imagine that doesn't regularly occur. On the initial start of my cut by using the clippers, it was quickly obvious that the blades were dull enough to create an uncomfortable pulling of the hair. The noise should also indicate a few drops of oil might be needed (perhaps even new clippers altogether). I knew I could put up with it all, and will NEVER complain to a person who is currently cutting my hair. That would not be smart at all. I admit I did not ask about the price of my haircut prior to her getting started, but anticipated it would definitely fall into the range of what is displayed on the window signage, on their entry door, and even on their business cards. Nope it was higher than the top-end of the advertised range (and then had additional tax as well). I chose to not say anything, as I did not confirm in advance (which was my error). I left a nice gratuity, and I think that's where my stylist, Varanee, assumed I was totally pleased with the experience, leading her to begin STRONG instructions of writing a positive review of their business online. Although there was no 'Thank You' or 'Come Again' message whatsoever, I was handed a business card with the names of the review sites I was expected to visit. It did seem a high priority for her. I nodded and did a quick exit, after signing a receipt on a counter filled with papers and doodads. This salon might be just perfect for some, and meet their basic needs, but I can simply not get over the overall business process. To be honest, I'm a bit clueless how they continue business these days. My cut did meet my expectations, but nothing else about the service did. A simple 'Thank You' would not have created a repeat customer (nope, that ain't happening) but it might have avoided this honest review. read more

When I arrived at the place I thought the attention had been good, as time passed it was from acceptable to worse. When the Asian Mrs put the tweezers on my head to start blowing dry my hair, the phone rang and I she was talking on the phone for more than 15 minutes!!!! I told her more than 3 times that I had to leave and I couldn't wait any longer and she continued talking on the phone, at the end when she starts to blow dry it I didn't see myself in the mirror until it was over and the blow dry was so bad! NOTHING similar to the photo I showed her at the beginning!!!! When she said she could do it. And when I went to pay, she has the nerve to ask for a tip!!!!. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's not a "fancy" salon. It's a mom and pop shop with a very friendly staff! Varanee is the only person I trust cutting my hair other than my best friend who lives up in Boston. So, for me to say that, is saying a lot. She cuts in the same exact manner my bff does. And the end result is identical. My bff in Boston charges people $150 for wash/cut & blow dry as do other more modern/"fancy" places charge. So to pay $65 for that package and walk out extremely satisfied is a steal!! I have long hair and always have it cut in a V shape with angles and layers. If that's your style of cut, put your trust in Varanee's hands completely, she will not disappoint! read more

Been over 5 years since I first stepped through their doors and got my first haircut. Always completely satisfied when I leave that salon chair knowing I can just walk in and have my hair cut perfectly without having to explain how every time. V and her staff of stylists always seem to have a customer in their chair and very busy especially during the holidays. So either come on a weekday or be prepared to wait a little. Would have given 0 stars if I could have. To begin, the place looks like a garbage tip. There are stray birds in there. However, I looked past this because I didn't want to hear my boyfriend tell me "I told you so", as he called it early that this place would be a dump. As I walked over to the dirty looking sink and chair, I coached myself, "it's okay, just don't think about it", but the regret started to set in. As she savagely washed my hair into an array of tangles and knots, she kept rubbing her grubby looking sleeve and bangle over my face and eye lids. I feared contracting pink eye, but I was committed to my cause. When she took me over to the station to blow dry my hair she tells me, "your hair is very tangly. I will have to spend a lot of time combing it so I will have to charge you extra". Just wanting this experience over and done with I offered to brush my own hair, which I did in under one minute. She then retrieves two dirty blow drying brushes from a drawer, that look like they haven't been cleaned since the store opened. After I watched her spent a couple of minutes plucking other people's hair from them I finally called it quits. . The service here is horrible. It's started out that I was charged 20 bucks for a basic wash and trim that's only 15 at Haircuttery. I understand this isn't a corporate hairshop so prices might be more, but at least the service should be up to par to make up for the expense. That was not the case. They washed my hair in cold water as she complained that it was still too cold and they ignored me and continued to wash it. They got water all over my face and i had to ask for a towel to dry herself. The stylist that cut my hair was rough and careless and complained about my hair being too hard to brush. At the end of the cut the stylist asked for tip even though swas unsatisfied with the service. Completely rude and unprofessional. Guess we should stick to the corporate places. well... my previous hair stylist opened another business and i came to this place to give it a try. She is not professional at all and CAN NOT DO ladies hair. when i asked her she said she will do it. She is the owner of the place and the place was opened for a very long time. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt and i never though she would charge me $245 for just putting a color into my hair. She did not dye my hair properly and it looked a mess. on top of that she had a nerve to give her a tip. I did not have time to fight her in a court or deny her the payment. I just looked at it as i have been robbed in a day light and just to let it go. I do not know why this place still is open. while i was sitting she charged people outrageous prices. For just a little touch of one's man hair she charged him $25 dollars . The man was shocked and probably will never come back again. since the area is very populated new people always come she really doesn't care for customers to come back and she knows it. she was doing one time hit with outrageous price. I left and cried in my car. I went there for a very simple request. Re touch the back of my hair that was already shaved and raise up the shave a bit more. A girl that didn't speak English helped me and I thought showing her a picture with EXACTLY what I wanted wouldn't be a tough request. She asked me if it was a number one and I said yes (I even told her all of this in Portuguese) but I wanted a fade JUST LIKE IN THE PHOTO. She just shaved the whole thing in a number 1. The picture there was obviously a difference in size where the bottom was number 1 and the top part was longer (2 or even a 3) I am not a hair stylist or barber and I knew this but nope she just shaved the whole thing and then asked me what's wrong? When my hair did not look at all like what I showed her. The very rude Korean lady wanted to charge me 15 for it. Now their hair cuts go from 12-15 being the most expensive..not only was my hair cut really simple cause it was just a quick shave on the back but she didn't even do what I wanted.. read more

Absolutely disgusted with this location and it's service provider. To begin the signs state they charge between $12-$15, even their business cards state $9.95 to $15.00. However for ME, $18! Rather than cause a scene, I politely accepted her service. I was not provided the service in which I asked, and she argued with what I wanted or what I should agree with. It's my hair and my look, I'll look the way I choose. Neither here nor there, she attempted to fade my cut as request and failed and failed again. Vs arguing and or cause a scene, or refusing to pay, I said it was fine and proceeded to pay the inflated cost. Then she ask me to tip, I disagreed and then informed her why I would not tip. I informed the owner I now have to find another barber to fix what she did and then couldn't do. So, she stated she had to charge me a 10% tax. I asked her she could charge tax on services to a person, being I'm not commodity or property. This is a service on my person and you cannot charge me a tax. I felt discriminated against with the additional cost and then retaliated because I wouldn't tip. Horrible service! And yes, she kept my money as a tip or tax. i had my hair done by a wonderful lady who was kinda new to the salon. i forgot her name but she is light skin and she has curly hair but its short. she makes sure u are comfortable and tries to find out what is better for u. she is also gentle if u ask her to be, she did a very gud job with my hair.. i had a huge knot; birds nest coming into the salon and she cut it out since it wouldnt budge and made my hair looking healthy again. im happy with my result because before i thought all my hair would've been gone but luckily she was able to save it. i truly recommend her and will be more than happy to have her work on my hair again in the future to make sure it stays healthy. read more

I went here last week to shape up my beard, and bought my mother to do her eyebrows the Chinese lady messed up my mother's eyebrows and had to go to a different salon that KNOWS how to do eyebrows, and lady would not Comp the mistakes she made and charged a crazy amount for crap service. The guy, on the other hand, did an OK job with shaping up my beard. Do yourself a favor, avoid both the Chinese lady, she does NOT know how to cut hair, just avoid this place overall! read more

I went for a haircut last night right before they closed... when the owner decided she was going to cut my hair I was kind of hesitant but didn't want to be rude.. she's very arrogant and terrible at cutting hair.. yet I figured I would give her a chance.. she said to me it's been about 3 months since you've had a haircut... I said no it's been a month-and-a-half she was insistent that I was wrong so she decided to scalp me and screwed my hair up so bad!!! she cut my hair in such a way that it's going to take months for it to grow back to how i usually wear it.. after I asked her to stop cutting it because she was obviously was more worried about leaving then doing the correct thing she just started laughing...
