Clocked is a nice burger joint. The staff have always been super friendly. I would recommend the Parmesan fries. The bacon jam burger is pretty good as well. 3 stars because of the service- we came here on Friday and the restaurant was full, but it looked like people were finishing up. Despite this, the hostess told us it was a 45 minute wait and basically asked us to leave. They should've told us to leave and come back and have a better wait management system... On Saturday night, we returned and were able to get a seat. We had the bacon cheddar egg grilled cheese, bacon cheeseburger, fries and chocolate milkshake. Bacon egg cheddar sandwich could be improved by cooking the egg less or scrambling in my opinion. The fries were perfectly crispy and the chocolate milkshake was like a fancy frosty. Hmm. I just came home from dinner eating with some friends at this restaurant and my experience was below average. Firstly, the waitress is SUPER nice and has a wonderful smile that you can't help but smile back. She took our orders promptly but it was the wait for the food that took forever! It was at least half an hour before we (party of 5) got our food. Which was bearable since we chatted the whole time but if your party lacks good conversation--prepare for awkwardly long drawn out silence because you Will have to wait. We were lucky to get a table tonight because I saw a number of people come in and leave because there just wasn't enough seats available. Food-wise, I ordered the Mushroom & Swiss grilled cheese sandwich was average. Waaayy too many mushrooms in it (don't get me wrong I like mushrooms, but that was all I was tasting) but my sweet potatoes fries were perfect! But at $3 for an average portion of fries was saddening..I thought there would have been more to share with friends! Maybe my mistake was not ordering a hamburger like everyone else because they all LOVED their burgers. So make sure you check out their burgers before you take a test on their other menu items.. And maybe my second mistake was not ordering a milkshake! We were eye-ing some leftover milkshakes these kids left at their table, thinking what a waste! We might have taken one off their hands if it wasn't socially unacceptable behavior..I think ordering your 7 yr olds tall milkshakes knowing they can only stomach 1/4 of it is a socially unacceptable! This place is fantastic and a must visit while you are in Athens. They are open super late and have great burgers. The fried pickles are also a must order. With friendly service, cheap food and Bells Brewery as their official house beer this is definitely a place to check out. My review in a nutshell: eh. I had heard good things about Clocked, so I figured I'll check it out finally. Walking in, I liked the diner-feel and artsy decor. Simple, small, and cute. We ordered the garlic Parmesan fries and hummus & chips to share, and both were tasty. The fries, however, were $3.25 for a small portion and really not anything special. If the fries are made in house, you can't tell. The hummus and chips were good. For my entree I got the regular burger with "fresh" jalapeños and an onion ring. They forgot the onion ring but brought it out very quickly once I mentioned it. The jalapeños, though not pickled, are not fresh. They are wilted, cooked, and not spicy at all. I was disappointed. Although the burger looked really good, it lacked flavor. The service was good but the waitress was stretched thin. Get her some help!! I will not be going back. There are plenty of better places in Athens to get a better burger. Oh... and it's not a diner -- it's a burger joint. read more

I visited for lunch on a weekday and was impressed by the attentive service we received. Be warned that clocked is pretty small and we shared a large table with a a group of strangers to accommodate the crowd. We had no problem with this, but some people might be hesitant. My dining companions and I each ordered burgers and were impressed. These were classic greasy spoon burgers that hit the spot. The waiters kept our drinks filled and the food came out quick. Had Ahi Tuna Sandwich, sweet potato fries,and a salad The sandwich was meh. It was not seasoned... at all and it was cooked a little too much. About what I expected for Ahi Tuna at a burger joint but I figured I'd try it. it would have been a disaster if I didn't get the honey wasabi sauce on the side as it was like green, watery, cake icing. I do not recommend this sandwich. The sweet potato fries were wonderful. They were done and seasoned perfectly and I will probably dream about them tonight. They were made even better by the raspberry dipping sauce. I really like that this place does fries well. The house salad was also surprisingly good. I had it without dressing because it had some fruit/ possibly pickled or candied veggies in it and tasted great as is. It was nice and fresh. Our server was kind of a dick. Everything was a chore for him. However, I don't think he was doing it on purpose. He seemed tired. Whatever. At any rate, I will be back to try the place again. It was 90 degrees outside and there were ten of us who just wanted to sit down in an air-conditioned place to eat some lunch. No can do said the snotty young hostess. We don't have a large enough table. No problem said I. We'll sit at two different tables. No can do said the increasingly snotty young hostess. The two available tables are in different sections so they have different servers. Again, no problem said I. Each server can write a separate check and we'll pay them separately. No can do said the now infuriatingly snotty young hostess. I'd like to speak to your manager said I. Ms. Snotty points me toward Ms. Nosering behind the bar. Ms. Nosering promptly turns her back on me and pretends to be busy wiping down glasses or something. The only person remotely interested in assisting me, we'll call her Ms. I Deserve A Better Employer, notices my predicament and asks if she can help me. My family had had enough. They're already out the door in disgust and choosing Plan B. Never again Clocked. To anyone with more than four people in your party, I recommend you look elsewhere for your Athens nosh. read more

A true college town restaurant. Warning - there isn't a lot of seating so make sure you come at off hours. We arrived on a Saturday at 530. It was when school was out for the winter break. We got the last seat. It was crowded. The onion rings are good but greasy. They are hand battered. If you are going to splurge they are worth it. Pimento cheese burger is greasy as well because of the cheese. But the burgers are good. The only complaint is the sides came out prior to the burgers. I buy them for the house and have eaten them out plenty times before but, the way they cook their patty was more like they grilled it on each side for 30 seconds.
