I couldn't sleep and 3:15 am is too early to drive so I popped into the nearest Waffle House - open 24 hours! - and I was the only person in here. Definitely one of the nicest Waffle Houses in town. The staff at this location are a little more with it than at some of the others. Nice big windows give you a great view of the sunset if you come in the evening. read more

Wish I was able to, but unfortunately, I cannot comment on the service because it was literally nonexistent. There were 2 other tables that were being taken care of and we sat there for 10-15 minutes, making every effort to make eye contact with the only server, who was doing everything BUT acknowledging us - cleaning up dirty dishes from another customer, standing behind the bar, etc. with ample time to take on another table. We ended up getting up and leaving because the server made it more than obvious that he had no intention of waiting on us and making an extra tip. read more

The bathrooms here are generally in bad condition. I've gone here one week to see the men's toilet in an unusable condition, covered in human waste. I came back the next week to find what looked like the same material stuck to the toilet seat. And they go too far with the "no to go food" policy. I was eating here with my son and tried to order more food when our initial orders arrived. I didn't even say it was to go. I just said I wanted to order one more meal and was refused. read more

I was so disappointed this morning when I went to Waffle House on Epps Bridge. Seems they have a special menu for take out and they automatically charge you 20%! Hey I typically tip higher than that but I was put out they had the audacity to automatically charge me. I wonder if the To go menu prices were higher. I walked out in disgust. read more

I tried to eat here tonight, but was told by an incredibly rude employee that they weren't seating customers because 'there [weren't] any clean tables.' There were multiple other tables seated and four or five employees just standing around doing not much of anything in particular. Me and my sibling came to eat at this waffle house and as soon as we walked in it was freezing!(bring a coat) and as soon as we walked in we were instantly seated and quickly attended too. They spared no time coming to serve us, and as we were dining every few minutes they asked if there was anything we needed. Overall a great establishment. read more

These employees need and deserve a raise They go out of their way to be accommodating with their customers. They are always working and cleaning even without the big bosses there. Waffle was good and hot and quick. Sausage could have been drained of extra grease. Silverware was clean and water was decent. I would vote to do away with plastic straws!! I came here on Christmas Eve with a party of 6. It was madness -- one of the only places open, and completely packed. Brooklynn waited on our tables and she was a complete delight. You can't live in the South and not eat at a Waffle House at some point. Well, you can. But why would you? In general, Waffle House is a great breakfast place. In fact, it's my favorite "eat out" breakfast place. Specifically, this Waffle House in Athens is my favorite Waffle House - period. My husband and I eat at this location 2 or 3 times a month. We are on a first-name basis with several of the wait staff. The service is prompt and always friendly. Many of the servers not only remember our names, they remember what our regular orders are. Pretty impressive given the number of people that go through this place every day! The food is always well prepared and very tasty. And, if for some reason on the odd day you don't agree they will remake it for you. No questions asked. So, if you are looking for a tasty breakfast prepared by some friendly folks, head to a Waffle House. If you are fortunate enough to live nearby, make it THIS Waffle House. read more

Unreal. Why is it I keep going to waffle Houses. One is just as bad as the other. Waitress got our order wrong. Chili was cold. No crackers, no spoon. Asked for Hot Tea. Got ice Tea.. No jelly for toast. No check back. Asked for a second cup of tea. Im told I have to wait, she has to call in an ordet. What the..... then she brings me just hot water n tells me to use the old Tea bag. Im like no, can I please have anotger Tea bag. She says its an additional. $1.85. Wtf.. no other one ever charged me for a second cup. I'm done. Staying far away from waffle Houses. Not that Huddle houses are any better, but yes... they actually are. Was visiting Georgia and decided I had to try the Waffle House. I didn't know what it would be like, but was very pleased with my visit. I loved my simple, but tasty pecan waffle. I know that most Waffle Houses get a bad rap, but this one is exceptional with their service. They greet everyone with a smile and do their best to ensure that you know you are a valued customer. Kristy, please excuse me if I misspelled, is ALWAYS the most pleasant person that you can ever meet. I have only been here 3 times and she remembers my favorites. I've had one of my most horrifying meals at this place. The food was terrible. Everything was bland and rubbery. Which is a shame because I've eaten at other Waffle Houses and they were much better than this one. Also, the service was absolutely terrible and horrendous. The servers all seemed miserable, and none of them seemed very clean. What really disturbed me, though, is that I watched two servers bickering with each other right in front of my table. I've been to probably 200 waffle houses and plenty of high end restaurants. This place is typical of all WH. Good food, busy as can be, underpaid staff but friendly and hard working. Lauren did a great job serving us. No health rating posted but the place is clean. The bathroom was clean. I've been in other WH before that had flies coming out of the toilet with a health rating of 98. Ridiculous. I think some of these reviewers have an ax to grind. read more

Please save yourself and go to the other waffle house across town. This is the most dirtiest place I've ever eaten at. My steak literally tasted like rubber and green salad looked more like a brown salad. The service here is as bad as the food. read more

Four stars because they are normally the best. I usually go on the weekends but being off work for Christmas break I decided to go today. The server was woefully unprepared for a packed restaurant. She was moving slow and was obviously very unhappy. We stood there for 15 min with a table just needing to be cleaned so we could sit down. When questioned as to when we might be able to sit down the waitress said she was sorry but they were very busy. All tables were filled, except for the one that needed busing, but I would hardly call it busy for a waffle house. Two other tables became available, but no sign of being cleaned. Despite the poor performance on the part of the waitress, the restaurant was not staffed properly for morning on a holiday week. 2 wait staff and 2 cooks is not enough. We left after another couple who had been there longer and had a table gave up after not getting any service themselves. Not the friendly fast service I am use to at this Waffle House. read more

visited on a Tuesday nite. we were the only customers. staff was working on a to-go order. we waited 35 minutes for our order to be completed. order was incorrect and eggs were cold inside and whites were still clear. food was not eaten. I asked a staff member if he had an attitude problem and he said yes but it wasn't us. seems to me that if they were crowded they would have a huge problem since they can only produce one order at a time. btw. health score was not posted. wont be back. ever. read more
