We enjoyed our first visit to this unique restaurant, and we definitely want to return soon. It is on the campus of the University of Georgia, inside the Continuing education Building. Once you are in the building -follow the signs to locate the restaurant, just past the cafe. The dining room is quiet and the tables are well placed, not crowded. There are tables for large to small groups. Menu was moderate size, with some seasonal specials. The food was well prepared and tasty. We had heard the strawberry pie was a special of theirs and it was good. The service was efficient and pleasant. Location -Use your gps to locate it. The Parking is in a university garage -you get your parking ticket and the restaurant will cover it for you. Get it verified before you leave the restaurant. read more

Service was good-- I asked the waiter to suggest what he liked and it was a good salad! He recommended I have some protein with it, but I didn't take him up on that. Kinda regretted it, but that's not his fault. It was a nice dining experience, but the tables had a weird brown paper on top of the cloth. I didn't even know the Georgia Center had restaurants. I came here with my friend and her family, and having never been here and celebrating a special occasion, we went all out. They have a limited variety of wine (no moscato), but can make cocktails and cocktails. Also, as a PSA they have seasonal menus so what I ordered today might not be on yours. To start, we ordered the truffle fries and they were so good!! As a fries lover, I highly recommend this if it's on the menu. For my entree, I got the salmon risotto which was flavorful and perfectly paired with each other. For dessert, we got the chocolate cake and bread pudding which were so good, but couldn't finish because of how full I was. Our server was super nice as well!! My family of four including myself had reservations Saturday night at the Savannah Room. Each of us had a different entree with the brussel sprouts and fried green beans as appetizers. The meal was wonderful. My daughter and her husband just returned from their honeymoon abroad and both commented this was the best meal they have had in a month even though they honeymooned on the French Riveria and in NICE. My first visit to The Savannah Room. It won't be my last. Food was excellent, service was great, it was Athens Restaurant week, so prices were great. Nice calming background music playing. The Steak Frites (skirt steak) was cooked perfectly, sliced, lots of flavor. My appetizer, Brussel sprouts, were sweetened with Balsamic glaze, cooked crispy, mixed with pecans, and pomegranate seeds on top. Definitely enough for several people to share. Relatively formal spot in the hotel. Had the angus cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. The fries were perfect and crunch and my burger was fantastic. It's located in the Georgia Center Hotel complex and is easy to locate. They do lose one star for the service. My dinner wasn't at a busy time but my waitress definitely seemed preoccupied with other things rather than checking on whether my meal was good and water was filled. The manager ended up doing most of the work and should have received the tip. Expect UGA students to be running this place and sometimes the inexperience shows. This place is as much as you could ask for from an in-hotel dining experience. Not only is it inexpensive, the plates are delicious, and the service is quick. They hand out these great cheese breads with honey butter to start within a minute or two of seating, and it's clear that you are a priority in their book. I stayed the night at the Georgia Center and had brunch at the Savannah Room. I had the French Toast which was amazing! You could tell it was made fresh in house(not store bought French toast).
