In my 66 years I have never heard "Shaved" in relationship to sizing rings. I can assure you at $5,000 per once, they didn't sweep it into a trash can. I had many rings sized, designed and casted. If I had extra gold left over from a project it was returned or credited. If I was short I had to ether provide more or pay the difference. I would advise that if you have a ring resized make sure they understand YOU WANT THE GOLD THAT WAS REMOVED, you can save it for a future project or they can credit you the weight after identifying the kart of your ring, 10.12,14,18,22 etc. even though the ring turned out well, that bothered me. I give them 4 stars because they did resize and polish my ring, they did it in less time than expected, and it turned out great. I'll chock this up to a learning experience to be absolutely clear in the future no matter where I go, if gold is removed, I ether want a credit or returned.
