He then comped my repair because I had (incorrectly!) thought that his battery replacement had caused the damage and he (correctly!) stands by his work. When I realized my mistake and apologized and tried to pay for the repair, he refused to let me and said that he hoped he'd see me again as a customer. I will not only be back, but will share this story with anyone looking for a place that operates with both skill and integrity. He never offered to order the band made for this brand watch, but then jimmy rigged a large men's regular band to my watch that didn't line up where the band attached. The band was clearly too large for my wrist and I was told to break the band in. $80. The receipt said no refunds. Store credit within 10 days. I went back day 5. Upon showing him the ill fitting band, he became enraged, yelling and telling me to break the band in. I told him the band was too big and I didn't want the band. He then removed the band and pushed it towards me. I pushed it back. He then threw my $600 watch at me on the floor. He told me to leave if I didn't want to be tazzed. I was shocked at both his yelling and violence. As I was leaving he hit me with the door as he slammed it. I called the police. I believe elieve this guy is dangerous. While there are good reviews the bad ones are true. This man stands out with consistency in horrible behavior.

Needed a new battery for my watch of many years. Since my wife and I are new to San Diego, I went to my computer and looked up Jewelers in the surrounding San Diego area and began reading reviews. I eliminated most for various reasons...some were seriously bad reviews, but at the end of one bad review, the writer then said he found Del Rancho Jeweler and mentioned the owners Steve and Connie were very good, honest and fairly priced. I drove from Mission Valley area to Del Rancho (near Fwy 74 and Avocado). Wow...the writer of that review was so right...Fast friendly good service at a very fair and low price. They were so good in fact, that the next day I took my wife's Cartier watch for a new battery expecting it to cost more than my battery did. Nope...same low price and done quickly. (I was told unlike some other jewelers, they do not charge more for the more expensive watches. All are the same low price. The owner turns out to be a master goldsmith and makes a significant portion of their exquisite jewelry on display. You will be pleasantly surprised if you go to Del Rancho Jewelers. Dan bought the business from the previous owners over a year ago. I have worked with him on multiple occasions for both repair and design work in both gold and silver. He is a master craftsman who not only takes pride in his work, but he delights in the creative process of making jewelry beautiful, personal and sturdy enough that even someone like me who is very hard on my hands doesn't have to worry about losing a stone. Not only has he been able to work on my modern jewelry, but he was able to restore a beautiful antique setting for me. And speaking of hands, I have very misshapen knuckles from my rheumatoid arthritis, but my fingers at the base are much smaller. Dan has done some ingenious things to weight and adapt the shanks of my rings so that they fit over the knuckle but don't shift around once they are in place. Monday before Christmas, my son went to Plaza Bonita Mall to have his girlfriend's Christmas gift sized and was told it "Could Not" be done because the ring was hollowed out at the top and the diamonds ran down the sides. Immediately I told them that I was going to call Danny, that he can do it!! My son could only purchase one size at the store and was devastated. He loved that ring!! Knowing my co-worker's husband, Danny, who I used to depend on was at Plaza Bonita Mall, could help us. I immediately called them after hours; sent Danny pictures and the next day my son took him the ring to be sized down two sizes within a DAY!
