We've done all the rooms at this location over the course of the year and had a great experience every time. The games are the right length for the 1-hour duration, the puzzles are sufficiently complex, and the rooms are very well designed with high-quality props. The staff are all very friendly and attentive to the games, checking in at an appropriate frequency. My favorites in order were (1) Medusa, (2) Three Kingdoms, (3) Back to Childhood*, and (4) Frankenstein, though all of them are worth doing. You can ask for a discount code on future games after you complete your first one. *Back to Childhood was different from the rest, definitely on the easier side but more focused on the fun theme and nostalgia elements. read more

Did an escape room here with kids, not teens but 8-year olds, my nephews and nieces to be exact. The place offers quality sets and props, with clever puzzles for guests to solve and the feeling of being immersed in the storyline. "Back to Childhood" consisted of a couple of rooms with a fun transition between the two. The theme and decor was nostalgic for me and my siblings and exciting for the little ones as they gave their best efforts in their very first escape game experience. "Back to Childhood" is supposedly one of the easier rooms here, but it was challenging enough for us grown-ups. It provided the perfect balance of difficulty level and entertainment value to fit a group made up of both youth and adults. We appreciated Clockwise being able to accommodate our large party of 8, including the kiddos. Our game master, Elizabeth, was friendly and gave clear instructions in the beginning as well as helpful clues during our session. We didn't need many hints, but liked that all players had to wave their arms in the air to agree to getting each clue. We came here for a work related team building event. I've never been to an escape room before, so I have nothing to compare this to. The place has a nice waiting room, where there are various board games (e.g., Operation). They have 5 different escape rooms. The one my team did was Three Kingdoms and it was a lot of fun. There are 3 rooms to explore, each with some good clues. We didn't ask for any hints, but once in a while a voice would interject to help steer us in the right direction. The room had a Lord-of-the-Rings vibe, which is right up my alley. This is a great event for team building. read more

Came here earlier this afternoon (party of 4, $40 per person) to do the Back to Childhood escape room (which per the game master's description is their easiest, but mid-level compared to the ones at Limitless Livermore LOL). Pricing seems to get cheaper the more people you have in the room. We finished in 40 minutes and used 2 clues. Most of us aren't escape room enthusiasts but have done a few here and there, so this was like the perfect level of challenge/engagement without being too intense. Pros: - The back to childhood escape room was super well themed, clean, and really enjoyable. Even parts of the room not directly related to the puzzles were really fun to look at and enjoy (as a millennial, I felt very seen with the pop culture references - they were very 90's baby centric and I loved it). - Danielle our game master was super helpful and had pretty funny commentary. I liked the system of her not giving hints until all 4 people in the room waved their hands, so cooperation was more naturally incorporated. - Fun photo-op at the end! - Easy parking outside either on the street or in the lot - was open on July 4th holiday! such a fun holiday activity - Props in the room were not cheap, and very well decorated. - Water available in the lobby as well as hand sanitizer - Dedicated space to put personal belongings. - Without spoiling too much, really great 2nd room in the Back to Childhood game! - Wide range of available game times, from like 10:15am ish to 9:30pm Cons: - I think having a timer on the wall in the 2nd room would be helpful, but you can always ask the game master how much time you have left. They ended up catching us with a 20% discount for a coupon without an expiration date, so our group planned to meet up later this year again to do another one. I would say this place is much better than Limitless in Livermore based on the one room I've done there. Overall, a fantastic place with easy booking options, and you can fill out the waiver ahead of time for efficiency. Will be back! read more

I did the Saving Frankenstein room with one other person. The puzzles were fun, the hints were helpful, and the whole place is family friendly. There was easy parking right outside. We were able to complete the room with more than enough time for us as intermediate escape room enjoyers. The room was decorated well, and it was definitely a really fun experience! I would rate this place 4.75/5 if possible for two reasons: our game master had changed in the middle of the game and I usually enjoy developing a bond/relationship with the game master by the end of the game. The second reason was that even though we completed the easter egg mini event (you were supposed to find all easter eggs in the room while completing the game), we weren't given any prize or anything. :( I think that's because our game master changed and they had forgotten, but I realize now, as I write this review, I will never find out what those eggs couldn't gotten us. This egg easter hunt didn't alter our experience in the game though, we still had fun! I would highly recommend this place for families for a PG experience :) read more

Came for my birthday hoping to recreate a great experience at the Oakland location, but unfortunately this one fell short. My group of three did the "Revenge of Medusa" room, which had strong reviews, but we ran into a few issues that dampened the experience. The start: Our reservation was at 7:45, we checked in at 7:35, and didn't begin until around 8:00. The big one: Shortly after starting, we discovered that a lock on one of the boxes had been left unlocked, something I've never encountered in 20+ escape rooms. When we flagged it to our game master, she told us to just pretend it was locked. We tried relocking it, but it required the correct combination to reset, so we had to solve the puzzle just to be able to solve the puzzle again. It was a small thing operationally, but it broke the immersion pretty significantly. Game master check-ins: Every 15 minutes or so, we got an intercom check-in asking if we were still having fun. I understand the intent, but for players who prefer full immersion, unprompted interruptions like this are a bit of a distraction. Most rooms I've done only have the GM speak up when asked. Puzzle design: A few puzzles felt overly finicky. We correctly solved two of them, but the mechanisms didn't register, requiring us to redo them. One had very small printed symbols that were difficult to read with only one lantern, and another had a physical component that wasn't intuitive given the standard "no excessive force" guidance. To their credit, our game master gave us extra time since we were the last group of the night, and we did escape, just 3 minutes over. The set design was also genuinely well done. I'd still like to try the "Back to Childhood" room someday, but this experience gave me some hesitation. Hoping these are just off-night issues, because the Oakland location set a high bar read more

Beautiful set, carefully thought out storylines, great photo op at the end. l love that they have well thought out storylines, puzzles, challenges of various levels. The revenge of the Medusa is so fun. The rooms are stunning and there are quite a few fun puzzles : made use of locks, maps, lights, house made props, and "digital magic". Was very impressed. Our family successfully completed both the Three Kingdoms & Back to Childhood rooms on the same day! Neither were scary, our 9 year old granddaughter had a blast doing both. These were our final challenges at this location and they didn't disappoint. Three Kingdoms is reminiscent of Lord of the Rings. Your party members get to portray an elf, dwarf or human as they find their respective legendary weapons to defeat the forces of evil. Great set design, tech effects & variety of clever nonlinear puzzles that fit each character type. Didn't need any clues and finished with over 26 minutes to spare (faster than their final special effect had time to recharge LOL). I'd say it's medium level difficulty, their Medusa room was a tad tougher. We took a brief dinner break before taking on their adorable childhood themed room. You start in a child's bedroom tackling hilariously appropriate challenges. Then move into the playroom which is filled with childhood nostalgia. We had so much fun playing with the props that we didn't want it to end. Again solved it without any clues and over 30 minutes to spare. This is their easiest room at this location and great for folks new to escape rooms. Kudos to Danielle our delightful game supervisor for both! She provided hilarious commentary & cheered us on to a double victory. We can't wait to try their totally different themed rooms at their Oakland location, next time! Our family has completed over 50 escape rooms successfully and Clockwise Escape Rooms is by far one of our favorites!! read more

Highly recommend this place! Very family friendly rooms. Also heads up, they offer same day booking discount only on weekdays but because we went on a weekend, they didn't have any discounts. It was still very affordable at $40 a room for 4 people. That's around the amount we're use to so it wasn't a big deal. Our group is crazy about escape games and can't just settle for one so of course, we did all their rooms. Our game master was Rhiannon for all 3 games and she was awesome! Clearly loved her job, very enthusiastic with great energy, and a great sense of humor. Can't wait for their new Three Kingdom room coming in fall! Anyway, they offer 3 rooms here. I would rank in order my personal favorite: 1) Revenge of Medusa 2) Childhood 3) Frankenstein Revenge of Medusa is supposedly their hardest room. I would say it was at a decent difficulty - definitely not easy for beginners but it had a good amount of puzzles, some harder than others but very interesting puzzles and had a lot of fun hands on puzzles. Childhood was definitely the most fun room out of the 3 but on the easier end except for 1 or 2 puzzles. It was more light hearted and playful so definitely the best room for kids. If you want a fun room without too much challenges, I'd recommend this. Frankenstein to me was harder than Medusa only because the mechanics of some puzzle were different than what we were use to. We also had an issue with one of our locks and our game host had to come in to help us. Rhiannon made our experience worthwhile because she was able to communicate with us by talking through some speakers. A lot of places has hints on a screen or no actual person talking to us live time. She nudged us at the perfect times when we were overlooking something or just off track without giving it away completely. I also appreciate their system where you can't ask for hints until 10 mins has passed and then you can ask for however many hints you want. Your whole group has to agree to wanting a hint too. It's really nice that way because I'm sure you all have that one person who loves getting hints and others want to challenge themselves more. We went to celebrate my birthday and our game master knew it was my birthday and wished me happy birthday at the start of our game so that was really sweet of her. Rhiannon had a great sense of humor and put up with our craziness. I'm a firm believer that game masters makes the experience more than the actual rooms and Rhiannon definitely did that for us. read more

I had so much fun doing the escape room with 9 other friends. We did the Medusa's Revenge and I was impressed with the room decor and the props. It was nicely set up and organized. We did the hardest room but we were glad we received some tips. There were a few details that you might miss like positioning a prop a certain way or placing a puzzle piece a certain angle. It helped having a large group because there were 2 rooms that needed to be solved. The puzzles and lore were written well. Some of the props were duds which was also challenging. The main staff lady was very kind and patient with us. She took our photo at the end. read more

I did the Revenge of Medusa here last weekend and it was the most challenging escape room I have played so far. The room was creative and had things I haven't seen before so it really kept me on my toes. The props were really well done and professional, much better than I have seen elsewhere. It was an awesome experience. The gamemaster Taj was attentive and helpful (and he gets extra points for humoring my wife when she made a joke and none of us laughed) My team was able to complete the escape with more than 10 minutes to spare but it was a tough one for sure. We had the BEST time at Clockwise Escape Room today! We were a group of 5 meeting for a little birthday celebration and we played Revenge of Medusa. It is their hardest room and was honestly one of the tougher games we have ever played. The clues were more elevated than other escape rooms we have done and the decor was as well. You really have to work hard to solve the puzzles and work together and the quality of the props was room design was top notch. Our gamemaster Taj was awesome! He was ever-vigilant and super engaging. He really made our whole experience great. We can't wait to come back when the Three Kingdoms room is finally finished and I hope Taj is our gamemaster again. I was trying to find something fun for my family to do indoors to beat the heat wave today and I saw this escape room online. They had a fun room that would be good for kids and the price was reasonable so we booked it. Upon arriving the place was clean and welcoming. It's a small place, in an office building like, but that doesn't matter because it was very fun! We managed to escape the room in 56 minutes and it was fun and stressful lol to see our family try to learn to communicate and work together to solve the problems. When we solved each one, it was fun to see how excited the kids were and we gave each other high fives and all screamed. You can ask for help if needed and we did have to twice but it was still a very fun experience and we will do another room for sure. read more

First review check :D I had such a great experience with Clockwise Escape Room! My family and I (a group of 9 people) booked a room here last minute on Mother's Day. I was a bit weary since this place had no reviews yet. So I gave the place a call to confirm if they were open, and luckily they were. The worker who helped over the phone was super nice and informative so I had a lot of confidence in trying out this place. Clockwise is located in Downtown Pleasanton so the streets can get a bit busy! Plan accordingly for your arrival times. They do have a dedicated parking lot, so you probably dont have to worry about that :) There is a small waiting area with some games upon entering. My group and I did Saving Frankenstein. Overall, I really enjoyed the room! With my group of 9, we were able to all split up and work on something individually. As someone who has done a fair amount of escape rooms, I would say this room is about a 2nd gen room with half tech and half lock and key puzzles. The overall setting was really immersive and I was impressed with some of the details. I experienced some puzzles that I have never seen before and it really tested our communication as a group. Additionally, there was not one puzzle that I felt was irrelevant to the theme/story of the room - everything flowed well and made for a great escaping experience! Will DEFINITELY be back to try the other rooms, super excited to have more escape rooms to try out in the Bay Area. We came to Clockwise on last Saturday night after dinner. We did the 90's style room called Back to Childhood. Taj was our host. This was a super fun themed room to try and get out of. Now it was just my wife & myself, so with 2 of us, it was hard and we almost didn't make it out, and 100% wouldn't have made it out without asking for a few hints/nudges in the right direction. They've got 3 rooms currently with a 4th they're working on. I believe on Saturdays & Friday nights I would guess, these fill up fast. Book your reservation early. We for sure would love to go back again, next time bringing my kids to try it, or with a group of friends. read more

My friends and I wanted a fun activity before our Friendsgiving dinner, so I thought of doing an escape room. My friends had yet to do an escape room, and I wanted to introduce them to this fun activity. Our team did Revenge of Medusa. The rooms were well-designed, and the theme and details were immersive. It made all of us move and contribute. The puzzles were challenging and will make you think and work together as a group. We managed to escape with almost 6 minutes left on the clock. They did not give hints for the first 10 minutes, but we had unlimited hints after that. Our gamemaster, Danielle, was excellent too. She explained the rules to us very well. She was straightforward, especially when we touched things we weren't supposed to touch. She was very helpful in assisting us when we were stuck on a puzzle and engaging when we wanted a hint on what to do next without revealing too much. I also love that we had to do something as a group to get a hint; it was clever. Overall, we had a fun night. I will be back for sure and try out their other rooms. read more
