Formal Complaint Regarding Choice Home Warranty and Clockwise Plumbing I am submitting this complaint regarding the unacceptable handling of a plumbing claim by Choice Home Warranty and their assigned contractor, Clockwise Plumbing. A technician named Jeremy from Clockwise Plumbing was dispatched to my home to diagnose a leak beneath my kitchen sink. At the time he arrived, the leak had temporarily stopped. Rather than performing a thorough inspection, Jeremy briefly crawled under the sink, looked around for only a short period, and concluded that the issue was simply a "caulking problem." This diagnosis was completely inaccurate. Caulking does not cause water to pour from the plumbing beneath a sink. Less than 24 hours after Jeremy left, water began pouring from underneath the sink. The leak became so severe that I had to call the Fire Department, who responded and used a T-wrench to shut off the water supply from outside the home because I could not stop the flooding myself. I immediately contacted Choice Home Warranty to report that the diagnosis provided by Clockwise Plumbing was incorrect. However, Choice Home Warranty repeatedly relied on the false information provided by Clockwise Plumbing, insisting that the issue involved caulking despite the obvious plumbing failure. During this process, I was provided the cell phone number for Sharon at Clockwise Plumbing by Choice Home Warranty. When I called her seeking emergency assistance, she immediately became rude and asked how I had obtained her personal cell phone number. I informed her that Choice Home Warranty had provided it to me. Instead of showing concern that my home had no running water and had experienced flooding, she simply instructed me to call the warranty company and request a recall. She made no effort to dispatch a technician or assist with resolving the emergency. I followed her instructions and contacted Choice Home Warranty again. Rather than resolving the issue promptly, I encountered repeated delays and unnecessary obstacles. I specifically requested that Choice Home Warranty assign a different plumbing company because I no longer had confidence in Clockwise Plumbing's ability to properly diagnose or repair the problem. It appeared they were more interested in collecting a service fee than performing a competent inspection. Despite explaining that my home's water had been shut off and that I had no running water, Choice Home Warranty informed me that I would have to wait yet another day for Clockwise Plumbing to respond. This was completely unreasonable given that my household had been left without water due to an incorrect diagnosis and the failure to properly inspect the plumbing system. The actions of both Choice Home Warranty and Clockwise Plumbing demonstrated a lack of professionalism, poor customer service, and a failure to respond appropriately to an emergency plumbing situation. A competent inspection during the initial service call likely would have identified the actual source of the leak and prevented the flooding, the involvement of the Fire Department, and the loss of water service to my home. As a result of this experience, I am requesting: A full investigation into the conduct and workmanship of Clockwise Plumbing and technician Jeremy. Reimbursement of my service call fee because the initial diagnosis was negligent and incorrect. Immediate assignment of a qualified and competent licensed plumbing contractor to properly diagnose and repair the issue. Compensation for any damages and expenses resulting from the delay in repairs and the inaccurate diagnosis. A written response from Choice Home Warranty explaining why an obvious plumbing leak was incorrectly classified as a caulking issue and why I was left without water despite reporting an emergency. This experience has been unacceptable and has caused unnecessary inconvenience, property damage, stress, and loss of essential water service due to the failures of both Choice Home Warranty and Clockwise Plumbing. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Clockwise Plumbing today through my Choice Home Warranty service. A technician who appeared to be very young (likely early 20s) came out to look at a simple bathroom sink issue. He spent roughly 15 minutes examining the sink, then called a colleague and admitted he did not have the proper tools for the job. After that brief inspection, his diagnosis was that the entire sink needed to be replaced. That conclusion seemed excessive given the minimal troubleshooting that was done. It felt more like a quick dismissal of the problem rather than a proper attempt to diagnose or repair it. Concerned, I called Clockwise Plumbing to discuss the visit and ask for clarification. Unfortunately, the owner refused to take my call. When a company is sent through a home warranty service, homeowners expect competent service, proper tools, and a willingness to stand behind the technician's work. I have not, until now, posted a bad review. However, I feel the need to warn my neighbors about Clockwise Plumbing. Bottom line: I suggest you look elsewhere! The first plumber they sent broke a toilet's flush valve and mis-diagnosed a problem regarding a dripping faucet. The second plumber brought a faucet that was not the finish/color I had specified (Home Depot had both finishes available at the same price). At least he installed it correctly and fixed the dripping faucet. Communication was very very poor - I was not informed that I would be presented with a bill over and above the warranty company's coverage. Clockwise Plumbing (substantially) marks up the parts they install - had I known, I could have bought them myself. (Neither they nor Choice Home Warranty informed me of the $70 coverage limit for a faucet). Also, I was told on more than one occasion to expect a call from a Clockwise Plumbing supervisor which I had hoped would be an explanation, apology and/or refund. I never got a call. read more

They were contacted through by my warranty company for sprinkler repair. For a small valve fix they quoted over $1000 and left after they dug up my yard. Once the claim was approved by my warranty, they never showed up to fix the valvue. They are not responding to calls either. After the technican left the place where he dug up also started leaking. Looks like he had broken a pipe, and they want to charge an additional $250 to fix it. I do not recomment this company. read more

Now it's a charge for repairs and labor to fix a problem that was broken at first. My home warranty company sent clockwise plumbing out when my hot water heater started leaking. This was the first time I used my warranty and the first time I have dealt with clockwise. They came out and said that the hot water heater could not be fixed. They said that they would have to bring it up to code because there wasn't a drip pan. I asked how much the additional charges would be. They said they would email me a quote. When I received the quote it said I would have to pay 801.00 for a new hot water heater. I asked the warranty company why it was so much money. They told me I had to call the plumber. I called Janice at clockwise and she said that they had to pay for a city permit, an extra helper, and additional charges to bring the heater up to code. I asked what kind of hot water heater I would get because I saw Lowes sold basic ones for around 500.00 plus 350.00 to install. The other lady in the office said they were very good hot water heaters. They told me that Lowes would also have to charge extra to bring it to code. I was in a difficult situation and I agreed to the price because I had already paid for my warranty and they made it seem like it would take quite a bit of additional labor to bring it up to code. Two men came out to do the job. One of them was the owner's son. The hot water heater they bought was dented along the bottom and where it was welded there was an opening. I brought this to his attention and he said that it was only cosmetic. I googled it to see if this was true and I told him that it said it could cause a problem because the insulation could be damaged. He said they would get a new one for me. They were polite and installed the new one. They added a drip pan and PVC pipe. My husband told me that he saw the helper lift the new hot water heater by himself and put it into place because the owner's son told him to. Overall they did a good job. I do think that 801.00 plus the reimbursement from the warranty company was too much for the hot water heater I received and the "additional labor for bringing it up to code". They never used both men to do the lifting. If they would not have needed to drive and get another heater because of the dent it would have taken 1 person about 2 hours to complete. When they were done I asked when the city would be coming out to do the inspection. The owner's son said ,"you want them to come out?" I said yes. I want to make sure everything is up to code. I had to call the office twice to get my inspection date. The city came a week later and signed off on the job. I wanted to post this review because even though they did do the job I think they eggagerated their prices. The city inspection cost 100.00, the drip pan and PVC maybe 75.00 and the additional labor to bring this up to code was maybe 15 minutes they did not need two men. As for the quality of the hot water heater...it is a 6 year warranty heater so just a basic 500.00 one. I don't mind paying for an honest price but in this case they left me feeling like they took advantage of me. read more

We rather suddenly had our kitchen sink back up. This is a shared drainage with dishwasher (which I had just started) and washing machine. Well, they set an appointment window, 11a - 3p for 7/9. I had to keep calling them (as 3p started to get close) and ask what's up. Finally at 4:09 I called again, quite irate. I get that in the service business things can happen that slow you down. But when I had called early in that window i was told there were THREE plumbers servicing our area. So - all THREE got so backed up that none were free to hit that window? Here's my biggest complaint: ZERO CALLS FROM ANYONE. When a service company sets an appointment, and it is becoming obvious they're not going to hit that window - CALL THE CUSTOMER. That's called, "Customer service" and it seems Clockwise is clueless. I was 3-way'd to the manager who showed no sympathy and just repeatedly told me, "You can wait for him tonight or reschedule for tomorrow". Now, once the plumber finally arrived this morning, he was fantastic - very thorough...willing to make sure all lines on that side of the house are open. But I simply can't give more than 2 stars...just can't do it. BTW, Choice Home Warranty is who sent my claim to Clockwise. I'm switching from Choice (have already paid for a new one but have to keep Choice for 30 days till the new one is in full effect, so I'm not just talking...I'm DONE with Choice) bc this isn't the first time they have proved they don't have very good contractors. read more

He came out to check my water heater. he was slamming door in my home and at the end he said i have to pay service fees but this service call was from my warranty and it was clearly mention that this fee will be waived. So when i said let me talk to my warranty company, he said i can't wait. We called them Thursday afternoon. They scheduled us for between 9 and noon on Friday. They sent a text saying they were on the way shortly after 9. Dustin and Hayden arrived a few minutes later. They unclogged the drain and were finished in less than an hour. Their price was very reasonable. We highly recommend them. read more

A part needed to be ordered and according Clockwise Plumbing, the manufacturer sent the wrong parts. Clockwise Plumbing did not let us know until after we contacted CHW to let them know they were a no-show. It happened again. Even though there have been good reviews with this company, mine is not a good experience. The left us with holes in every room, exposing us to freezing temperatures. They left drywall and installation all over floors, counter tops, and dishes. Their rerouting sucked so bad, another company came out to reroute. read more

After coming out a 2nd time they finally cleared my stoppage via a method that was covered by my home warranty, go figure. Because, The owners ask friends and family to post good reviews, so the bad reviews are ignored. I was told this by another customer of theirs that had bad dealings with Clockwise. It's a shame I paid them $9,000 to end up with having the same plumbing issues I originally hired Clockwise Plumbing to repair. The owner brags about being a master plumber and having a licenses which makes no difference to someone if you cant do the job he ( the owner) promised he would do, the correct way. So expect several more good reviews to make up for this one . This is how they keep a good rating . Most of the jobs they do are through a homeowners warranty company . So beware home owners. The ladies on the phone are on top of things, it's the people in the field and their practices are just shady. First of all, if they give you a time window, best be assured they will come 2-3 hours after that window. Secondly they prioritize their visit based on their view on how much $$ they will make out of that project. Clockwise was consulted by American home shield to check for a leaks at my property and after 3 weeks of run arounds and not following proper procedures they submitted a quote that they knew was not going to be covered by the insurance. They wanted to install a "shut off valve" outside the house, any plumber would know that the city has a shut off valve 10 feet away. I had 2 other master plumbers come out and give me a second opinion and that's how I know this company is shady. I would stay far away from this company. read more

This is by far the most unprofessional and unorthodox plumbing company I've ever encountered. I was set with this company by my warranty company and was throughly upset. I was scheduled for my services to take place on today between 12:00 and 3:00 pm after not hearing from them at 2:30 gave them a call only to be informed that the tech was running behind and the new " appointment is after 3:00( pretty wide window). So this place is a joke. I didnt pick this company my home warranty did. Funny thing is when I talked to them Thursday 5/2 and tried explaining to them issue they talked to me like I was ignorant(I was a licensed claims adjuster and home inspector) and treated me like I knew nothing. Said they didnt trust a leak detection test done by someone with over 25 years experience. After we finally got me in the books their "master plumber" ended up hanging up on me. Well today their window was between 9am and 12pm. Its 525pm and I haven't received a call and no one has show up. I never in my life would choose a company with these kinds of standards. We had a leaking shower head and call our warranty company sent Clockwise plumbing. They replaced the cartridge and left telling us that the leaking would stop in about 10-20 minutes. The leak never stopped. We called them back, but they wanted us to do a recall from the warranty company, which we did. When they went the second time, they made a report to the warranty company that the valves were rusty and corroded and needed replacing. The warranty denies coverage for the valve. I called another plumber to come out, he replaced the cartridge with the manufacturer brand, which costs $20 more than the generic one. And the leak has since stopped. I called to notify them of this, but the office lady brushed me off like that's not their problem, she says " they don't cover manufacturer's parts." I told her I would of paid the extra $20 instead of having to hire a new plumber. She didn't care and hung up. Don't trust this company, they are just trying to get as much money out of you as possible. I will let the warranty company know about them too. read more

I was schedule by my home warranty this Plumbing Company Clockwise, the tech was scheduled to arrive between 12:pm and 3:00pm I receive a call he will be 35 minutes past 2:pm, He did show up by 3:pm, his comment was he is not able to perform the job because he does not see any issue, he did not even bother to take off a single screw or bring a tool, the moment I explained the situation I knew he will not be able to either not do his job or does not want to do it, since he is getting pay any way.
