HONEST businessman. Our sewer was backed up. We called Clogs For Us, and Jarod immediately picked up, told me he was at a job, and would call in about 20 minutes. He did so, said he would be here shortly, and the price was $75. He arrived within 10 minutes, checked and said it was most likely a backup. After confirming, he snaked it open, and did not try to convince us it was something worse or more costly. He was fast, clean, friendly, polite, and HONEST. I called last night late and was told that I should wait until the morning as long as there was no real emergency, that would save the Night Charges. There was no real emergency so I waited for the AM. He showed up at 8AM as promised and had the clog done in 20 minutes with no problem. What a pleasure to have a repair guy come on time and fix my problem quickly and at the advertised rate. I would recommend these guys to friends and family. PS: His telephone voice is a little rough, but that is no reflection on the man or his work. This guy is a plumber not an opera singer read more

Update 10/19, well the pump in my basement went bad again. Combination of stuff that probably shouldn't have been going down the drain and a shitty pump. Called Jarrod came literally within 30 minutes and resolved another nightmare of a situation. Called today to schedule a service call and encountered very rude man who made it very clear through his tone, questions and responses that the call was just a bother to him. I eventually pointed this out, that he was sounding like my call was a nuisance to him and if he did not want the work I could call someone else. He got very angry and defensive telling me that he's very busy and going to the North Shore is inconvenient for him. I explained that I was calling because I believed we had used his service once many years ago and his the website says they serve Nassau and Queens. He did not respond kindly and told me to go ahead and call someone else. Lacks professional communication skills. Blatantly rude and then angry when that is pointed out. read more

Been meaning to write this review. On Sunday, October 22, 2017, I had an emergency sewer drain clogged. I looked up companies on Yelp and found this company. I called up and spoke to Jared. I told him the problem, he quoted me a fair price and told me he would be at my house in 45 minutes. He came and did the job and was helpful and professional. Called him Saturday night, gave me the option of coming out at night for a higher rate or he said that if I can wait until the morning it would be cheaper. I opted to wait until the morning. Showed up on time 8:30. Went to the main trap, put his hand in and pulled the caps out and then pulled a clump of toilet paper from the house side of the trap and the clog was gone. Took maybe all of 5 minutes, but man was I happy I can use water again. Paid and thanked him. Would definitely use again. For me, it was worth it, because no way I was going to put my hand in there. read more

Harold came through and had a difficult time getting the cap off because DEP put the water line directly over it. After much effort he was finally able to get the snake into the line but it drew out roots. To get the line flowing he had to use a Hi Pressure water jet to clean the line. When you have a Brown Water backup in your basement, Call Universal. Harold made sure it was flowing properly before he wrapped it up. Technician Ray came out to the house and completed a job that I've yet to receive an invoice for my record keeping. Ray initially stated that he would send the invoice over via email or text message once the work was completed. He did not. When he and I spoke telephonically multiple times two weeks later, he was once again sending the invoice over where he then stated he was on the way to a job sight and then once again when he stated he was at another job sight. Ray reiterated he would be sending it immediately when he was done with the job he was working on and once again no invoice. Two weeks later. I am not understanding why. Now when I've tried to call it appears that all numbers listed on your web site are all 'unavailable'. Later, when I thought I either overheated and ruined the fan motor or the fan motor was defective they walked me through the options for testing the motor and started the warranty process just in case the motor was defective. Because the fan is on a high roof and difficult to get to I went ahead and bought a new start capacitor and a new motor to only send the repair person up there once.. As it turned out, the motor was fine. The fan was turning very slowly because a paper towel got sucked up the flue and was dragging on the fan slowing the motor way down. YAY, I did not need the new motor. Volco was great. I was allowed to ship back the expensive motor for a refund and received the refund very promptly. Capacitors, of course, are never refundable. The fan works great and keeps my covered and mostly enclosed patio smoke free. I will never deal with any other company for high temperature exhaust fans and fan parts. THANKS VOLKO!!!!

Kitchen sink was suddenly not draining at all. Got Jarrod on phone early morning and he came over mid-day as we asked. The clog was deeper and more congested than expected. He worked hard at it and didn't rush, eventually drilling for access at a second section of that the line in the basement (and getting gook on him the process.) Price was naturally higher than the normal advertised price for a single drain, yet reasonable. Water going down well now but Jarrod advised very limited use (if not elimination of) the garbage disposer unit that has been at that sink for about 20 years He also left us with a supply of special enzyme fluid we can pour in to continue reducing the sludge that remains or at least to keep it from building up again too easily. read more

Had a clogged sewer issue. Called Citywide and Harry came over to give me an estimate. He first sneaked a camera in the pipe and told me the pipe was cracked which would cost me $6k to replace it. I told him I needed a 2nd opinion. He was not happy at all. I called up Clogs for us and spoke to Jared. He came over after a couple of hours and unclogged the sewer line for $75. Jared told me I didn't need to replace the pipe. Citywide tried to take me for a ride. Can't beleive there are so many con men out there. I will definitely use Jared's service again. read more

To say that I was impressed by the dedication and honesty would be an understatement! I received an immediate response when I called and scheduled a same-day appointment. Jarrod was involved in a car accident in the morning. Despite this, he returned with another vehicle within an hour of our original appointment.
