These people are straight crooks. The moment I asked for an itemized bill so I can have a better understanding of what I am paying for, the tone changed in the conversation. The answer? Uhhh no we don't do that. When I asked why not I was told because we just don't. I called an honest plumber and got the work done for the same price BUT I was given an itemized bill of exactly how much everything costs including the labor. Before you read further, be aware that the owner responded to this review with my full name address and phone number. He also did this to another negative review. He is literally doxing anyone that says something negative. That is unacceptable and tells you everything you need to know. This company can not be trusted. Period. Owner is one of the most unbelievable people I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. Last summer I had called and left messages about emergency service needed. I never received a call back and left a review based on that experience. But before I continue I recommend Proactive Home Services or T.F. O'Brien. Both are polite, courteous and get back to you. The owner then called me and verbally berated me for the review and said that it was my fault because I should know that HVAC companies are busy during the summer, as it that's my fault. He was so aggressive to the point that I was left speechless on the phone. He then begged me to remove my review of my experience after continuing to attack me. He knew he was in the wrong and how bad his rude responses looked so he even offered to do the service for free if I removed the reviews. I figured we'd let bygones be bygones and I removed all reviews. Well obviously what he did to service my machine did not stick because once again my unit is not working the next summer. I contacted the company again to have it serviced, perfectly willing to pay for the service, and the owner calls me to decline. That's fine and he has every right in the world to do so as a business owner. I just feel like I should let people know about this company because the owner seems to like to attack people if you don't leave a good review, and then holds grudges. He even threatened to sue me and to post my personal information everywhere if I reposted a negative review. I have the texts to prove this. We got screwed by another company. I was hit, pregnant and miserable in the middle of a heatwave. Brian got someone to our house ASAP and helped us. A few weeks later the unit was busted up again, also super hot out. He came on a weekend and helped us. They wound up replacing our unit (we knew it needed to be done) and gave us a reasonable price. They worked quickly and cleanly, and really went above and beyond. We are a little outside of their service area, and we were desperate. They didn't hesitate to help and they didn't give us some crazy price for service (which we probably would have paid). read more

Replaced our compressor for a 3 zone mini split. Fast forward a year and a half and system can't be pressurized. Ask for possible solutions almost weekly for 2 months only to repeatedly hear our manager will call you back. I'm $10k into a POS system and I'm running $50 FB marketplace window units all summer. UPDATE- about a dozen calls ended with "my manager will call you back" for months. The call never came. Bad review on yelp gets a response in under 12 hours. Our 7-year-old Fujitsu mini-split air conditioning system was giving us, what we thought, trouble. Able was fully transparent. They stated there was a minimum charge to show up and check the system. And that sometimes may be up to 2 hours for their technician when he is on hold with Fujitsu service. Thankfully the tech who showed up was very friendly he hooked up a computer system to the unit did a bunch of scans. He stated that the unit was functioning properly and that the problem, which is elevated humidity in one room, is probably due to poor insulation in the exterior wall. I'm just thankful that the unit is functioning properly. Again the technician was very friendly and cordial. They arrived exactly when they said they would on time. I would recommend Able and use them again in the future for my air conditioning and heating repair needs. read more

We had Able come to our home for an estimate for split units mid July. Two young guys came and were very knowledgable but we never heard back from anyone. We called and called and left multiple messages. Pregnant customer in the middle of a hot summer looking to get some relief FAST so unfortunately we were forced to go buy a window unit. We spoke with receptionist after receptionist to confirm that they had our email and phone number. At one point we got in touch with 1 of the 2 gentleman that came to our house and they said they were waiting on the electrician to quote us. It is going to be a month now. Zero stars. I had no hot water in my Navien Combo Boiler. The technician told me it was the 3-way valve. He made it sound like it was a big job and said it was $585 plus the $155 service call fee. He was done in 30 minutes. The bill came to $840. I went to my local plumbing supplier with the old part. They said it was a $40 part. So I paid $800 for 30 minutes. Let's say they had 90 minutes travel time round trip (which was probably way less because they are local) so that's $800 for 2 hours work. I feel that they ripped me off. read more

Then I told him it was replace 6 years ago and he repeated the same answer and said only your lawyer can tell you what to put. Great customer service with a very helpful and honest technician. We called last night as one of our HVAC units stopped working. We initially spoke to someone that gave us wrong information. Within five-minutes of hanging up we received a call back from a Manager to explain the communication breakdown on their part. We decided to schedule the appointment for this morning between 8am and 11am. The technician showed up by 9am with a smile on his face and a friendly demeanor. He immediately went to work, diagnosed the problem as a loose wire, fixed it and REFUSED payment of any kind. He would not even let me tip him. He stated that the Manager that called us back last night was adamant that he wasn't to accept payment of any kind. Mistakes happen. How a company handles it screams volumes for customer service. Just had Brian from Able Air and Heat leave my house. Had a bad leak last night coming down from the light socket in my kitchen....NO BUENO! Brian came this morning, located the leak (upstairs behind a wall) and replaced the pipe. It was fast, clean, and thorough. He also took a look at my burner and noticed a very small leak that could have caused a major issue. That will be fixed tomorrow and I have no doubt that it will be done with utter precision and expertise. Since it was Monday at 12:40 pm and no word, I decided to call and was told in such a rude and unprofessional manner that they did not have me listed and since it was raining out at the time no one would come and work on it. What a great experience!! They say on their website ableairheat.com that they are available 24/7 and I was a bit skeptical to call at 3am, however, with a 3 month old baby you can't go without heat in the winter. This happens to be April, but the past week the temperature has dropped into the 30's at night. 2 weeks ago we thought we where turning our heat off for the spring, but had to turn it back on only to find out it was not working. We needed our heat fixed immediately, if only for a few days. Able Air and Heat answered the phone and showed up three hours later. Unbelievable service!!! I can't recommend them enough.
