I purchased a pair of Ace…read moreBranded gloves on Saturday morning and came to return them and buy a more robust pair (for more money per pair) as the gloves did not last 3 hours of yard work - they had holes in the glove. The young lady refused to take the gloves back because they were used. I told her I knew that as I was the one who used them. After several verbal exchanges and her picking at the shredded glove, I got upset and called her a blockhead. (Not good by me) She said I had to see a store Manager. I just returned from attempting to return the gloves and buy a better pair, and Austin, the store manager, also refused the return, and I told him I would never be back. He smiled and said goodbye. I guess at $17.00 pair of gloves is worth really ticking off a customer. It's all smiles while buying, but not when you try and return a defective pair of gloves and buy a more expensive pair. I am done shopping at ACE. I want to buy locally, but I guess the cost of acquiring a new customer is less than $17.00. The store will not suffer one bit from my choice, but it is my choice to make. More times than not, I will travel valleywide and lose hope with the thought of "I'll swing by Ace and see if they have it" and every time, this far they have it. The staff are always incredibly helpful and generally assist even when I throw a "it's okay, I appreciate it" out there. For instance, on this trip, the gentleman directed me, I mentioned I took a peek and didn't see if and it was okay that I would cut my loss. He headed over and verified and found what I must have passed several times over. As far as the product? It was would have been offered elsewhere had they had it and at about the same price. In the past, I have been very fortunate to be looking for items that are on superduper clearance. Perhaps one of these days, I'll make this my first stop and spare days wasted with travel and unnecessary purchases that I am unlikely to ever return just based on the distance alone. Fortunately, Paul's is just a few mins walking distance up the street for me. Now, it's time to lock my number in, since I'll be bisiting more often.

They would not take it back. Interestingly the floor manager told me when I bought it he marked them down, I wonder why?.... Please do not buy anything from them of any value. I left the pressure washer with them, it was not worth my time. I had this happen with a couple other items I purchased at this location. They say they are customer oriented, but when it comes time for them to stand behind the products they don't. I buy a lot of construction supplies and I am going to instruct my employees and teams not to buy anything from Lowe's. This small purchase will affect them more than they even know. We bring in some oddball part, explain the issue and they have 'just the thing' - and they know right where it is in the mess of aisles of items.
