Living in a condo means space is at a premium. Shelley K.Cohen of Closet Factory has made my space seem like it has doubled. Our time together began many years ago when she created a three piece unit for my second bedroom which I wanted to use as a Den/Guest bedroom. The units gave me extra storage as well as a TV room for me. A few years down the road I saw a dining room unit in a magazine for much more money than I could fit into my budget. I called Shelley and once again she came to my rescue.She gave me my unit but with a few additions. I ended up with my dining room unit for less than half the price of the magazine version. I also gained more storage space to spread out my kitchen. I called a third time to see if Shelley could convert a small wire-shelf closet into more storage space. She took inventory of my items and then created a pantry that fits perfectly inside the original space but holds so much more and everything has a special place and I can find things easily. If I change my heating system, I will have an extra empty closet and I will call Shelley of Closet Factory once again to convert it into something useful rather than let it be empty space. I had a great experience with Closet Factory and Helene Hass Tatkow. I approached them at the recommendation of my architect for a development project I was doing with very particular indoor air quality requirements. Helene designed a series of closet solutions for the entire home (including garage) and was able to provide and document special materials which were formaldehyde-free and no-VOC. Her designs were attractive and very detailed, yet she did a great job staying within our construction budget. She also made great suggestions about appropriate hardware that would be consistent with the rest of the hardware we used throughout the project. When it came time for installation, Closet Factory was great. They accommodated our hectic construction schedule, installed the closets quickly and professionally, and cleaned up thoroughly. The units are attractive and very functional. For a few closets where we decided not to install storage, she prepared drawings showing representative ideas for systems a prospective homebuyer could install. All in all, it was great working with Helene and Closet Factory, and I'd absolutely work with them on a future project. read more

We recently moved int a new home and used Closet Factory for the 3rd time! Margaret Milano has been our go to designer for all our projects. They/she will design anything .... not only closets. She designed a small corner cabinet system (inside the house) next to the entry to the garage that included a bench seat, shoe storage, mail slots and a docking station for charging our cell phones. It is so functional and looks fabulous! Perfect for that spot. She also designed a taller cabinet for linens and things and a smaller cabinet that fits perfectly in the half bath. Custom made and custom designed for a space that was difficult to fill with a piece of furniture. Another highlight was the installation process. Felix was great to work with. He went about his work in a professional manner. He knew what he was doing and double checked with Margaret when he had a question about placement. He took care of all the trash and cleaned the floors after the installation was complete. One day installation. Well done Margaret, Felix and Closet Factory! I used Closet Factory to transform my builder grade walk-in closet into a magazine-worthy, beautiful, super-functional, clothing oasis. Shelley Cohen worked magic to utilize the entire space--even with a sloping ceiling--carefully considering what hanging, drawer, and shelving spaces were needed for our clothes. Felix installed the units and I was overwhelmingly impressed with his (and the other installers) precision and attention to detail (rare trait nowadays). We had such a great experience with Closet Factory that we decided to install a Murphy bed unit, bookshelves and a closet/drawer unit in another bedroom to make it multi-functional when the college kid is not home. That room also turned out fantastic. It was a pleasure to work with a quality company. I appreciate the variety of finishes that Closet Factory offered over their competitors. This team deserves another 5 stars above and beyond! We knew the decision to install custom closets would elevate our home, but we couldn't have anticipated the level of efficiency they have brought to our daily routine. Design Consultant, Veronica Leone, translated our wish list into a practical and functional plan for our space. We had ClosetFactory renovate four closets, and from master bedroom to toddler's room, Veronica nailed it all. She was professional, responsive, and above all creative and FUN to work with! Our installers, Jesse & Felix, were also top notch. Friendly, polite and incredibly efficient. They managed the installation with practically no interruption to our schedules, and our 2 and 4 year old children adored them as well. The end result is so beautiful and high quality, we now keep our closet doors open to admire them. This was one of the best home improvement projects we've ever taken on and all our thanks to Veronica, Jesse and Felix for making it so easy on us. read more

Unfortunately my experience with CLOSET FACTORY was a complete and epic failure. It promotes itself as the industry standards for client care, with great craftsmanship, but IMO BUYER BEWARE that could not be further from the truth. My dreadful saga took five people, four installations and six months to complete a simple flat wall design. Their lack of skill and professionalism coupled with damage to my woodwork and ceiling during four attempted installations was completely unacceptable. Their owner also completely lacked empathy for a job gone horribly wrong. If you're seeking quality and a job done right the first time I suggest you don't call CLOSET FACTORY. And in truthful disclosure I asked the owner David Townsend of the Wilmington, MA branch to consider a 10% refund of my project price given the chaos his crew caused, neither he or his office manager had the decency to even acknowledge my request! My sewing room looked ok . Self assembled shelving for storage was adequate but tired. The airbed that I offered my guests was better than the sofa. I decided to have a wall bed with shelf storage installed and Closet Factory of Boston was my choice. WOW! The products that I chose are sturdy and cost less than my budget for the project. My installation team worked incredibly well together and were completely focused on their work. They adapted the unit to maintain access to electrical outlets - now the wiring is out of sight.The completed unit is visible shortly after you come through the front door. It is elegant and elevates the entire house. The shelf storage displays my fabrics beautifully. The wall bed is easy to operate. There was nothing to compromise to achieve the dual room function I dreamed of. I am over the moon with the results and recommend Closet Factory of Boston without reservation. read more

I had my master bedroom closet done by Closet Factory and they did such an amazing job that I find myself leaving the closet doors open just so I can see inside! Veronica was my designer and was wonderful to work with, she was flexible and creative (since I had big water heater in the way!). She also kept me informed of all the deadlines and was very clear about next steps. Santi was the installer and I can't say enough amazing things about him-- he was punctual on the day of, even sent a text to let me know he was 20 minutes away. He was friendly and very professional, and was respectful of the noise level when I needed to take a work call. We purchased a Boston condo in which the previous owner had installed beautiful Closet Factory closets. We called to find out about work we were considering, and we were informed that our closets were under warranty! We wanted to convert one closet to an office, and Closet Factory scoped out the work, advised us, submitted drawings, and devised a schedule for the work. The team kept us informed throughout the process, and, when the day arrived, they were timely, thorough, polite, and conscientious. The price was reasonable, too. I had the pleasure of working with Debbie on our master bedroom closet redesign, and she did a phenomenal job optimizing storage space in our small L-shaped walk-in. The whole Closet Factory team is lovely to work with, and I found them to be courteous and prompt anytime we had questions. I used Closet Factory (Wilmington MA) for a hall closet and my pantry, installed just this week. I am beyond happy with the results!! My designer Veronica really understood all of our challenges. Our once crowded, dark pantry now has beautiful white shelves, pull out drawers and baskets. We have so much additional space and we can easily see what's there. Our hallway closet was a disaster - overflowing with shoes and jackets. We now have shelves for shoes and an upper and lower hanging system for jackets. It's perfect! I worked with Debbie Anastos whose reputation preceded her through friends in the construction industry who build new homes and had been recommending Her for years, Their clients had rave reviews and I learned why for myself. Debbie listened to my needs and then offered a variety of options all within my price range. She delivered a perfect product, on time and on budget !! I couldn't be more of a fan. Everyone at this Closet Factory is amazing! We've now done four closets with this crew and everything has been great: the process, the product, the install, customer service. Our Design Consultant Debbie is the best. She takes the design process very seriously in order to delight clients with the end result. Jesse has led the install crew for all the closets and is great at what he does, courteous, and respectful of the space he's working in. The service coordinators were amazing as well, working with us to reschedule when some construction delays caused us to have to move some closet work around several times. We recently had custom closets installed by Closet Factory. Our designer was Helene Tatkow. I have to say that we were completely satisfied with the whole process. Helene was flexible with her meeting time and, during her short visit, was able to draw up closet designs with great utility and good looks! We even threw some curve balls at her, such as adding non-standard specialty features to our closets. She researched ideas and we were very quickly able to settle on a final design. I recently had my horrible, disorganized kitchen closet, turned into a first-class pantry! My designer Shelley Cohen listened carefully to me and our needs before she quickly designed a perfect arrangement of shelves and drawers to fit all of our pantry staples. The closet is such an upgrade to the room and we will be rewarded if we ever sell our home. It has made shopping and cooking easier, as I now know exactly what I have.
