It was time to start my closet for this year's upgrade. I have used other companies in the past, but I decided to get a bid from Closets by Design. My design consultant, Catherine Bydal, came to my house and we visited about what was important. After measurements, she blew me away with her design concepts, and how she would make it all work for me! She was a delight to work with! Experience counts! The day was set for installation, I received a courtesy call the day before. My installation expert, Juan Zagaoza, gave me a call before coming and I absolutely love that kind of courtesy and communication! Once here, he got right to work following the design concepts from Catherine. Before I knew it, it was finished! The floor was vacuumed, the shelves were wiped clean - no sign of "construction work" anywhere! I love the pride of workmanship this demonstrated. We went over it together, and I am just in heaven with my dream closet. I actually can SEE all my shoes and purses now!! Not to mention where the clothes are that are organized. As said, I have used other companies in the past that are well known. CBD didn't have the LEAST expensive price, nor was it the MOST expensive - it was fair because of the amount of work that went into my space. I believe in consideration was that I enjoyed working with Cathrine and she was always quick to answer my questions! The entire process was so streamlined, and the final product came out WONDERFUL! I'm calling back to add cabinets to the garage! You can get a bunch of bids, or you can trust me and use Closets by Design (no, I do NOT work for them) I just know good quality work, great customer service, and an installer that is very sure of his work. Closets By Design just remodeled my wife's walk-in closet today. It looks absolutely beautiful now. Hillary and my wife sat down and worked out all the details and designed it themselves, Hillary was very accommodating in the design. Now for the install! It was not what I expected. The installer showed up on time and his name was Tony Cruz. All I can say about Tony is, WOW, what a breath of fresh air. Tony was the epitome of how a person that works with the public should be. Tony was very professional very clean very personable very friendly very knowledgeable about the product, explained to me step-by-step what he was doing and was able to answer any question I had for him. Tony went above and beyond his job as an installer, he left the room looking amazing the room was spotless when he left and he is truly an asset to your company. It is so refreshing to see a young person take such pride in his work. Tony is very meticulous and pays great attention to detail. I have never seen or met a person with a greater work ethic than Tony, his wife and kids as well as Closets By Design should be very proud of him. Other companies should be jealous of the quality of employees like Tony Closets By Design employs. Tony made sure everything was to my satisfaction before he left. Everyone at Closets by Design was awesome. Our designer - Whitney was very creative, very patient and very helpful She came to our house and recommended interior designs for three of our bedroom closets. She was meticulous in her measurements too. At one point, my husband and I went to their showroom to see the sample wood in larger formats. With Whitney's recommendation we modified the design of one of the closets to enable us to have long hanging space if we wanted it. She also made sure that when the closet doors are open (the doors are not yet installed in the pictures below) that the drawers were symmetrical in the closet. And ultimately she designed the closets to maximize our use. She is very talented (and efficient). She offered to help us narrow down the drawer handles too (told us where to order them from) and 'approved' our selection. The installers -- Robert and Carlos were also wonderful. Carlos called me thirty minutes before they arrived which was helpful. Robert and Carlos know the product very well and did a thorough job installing the closets. They take their job very seriously. They left the house and the garage very clean. These guys were awesome -- they got the job done on time too. I recommend Closets By Design for everyone. read more

Everything went according to plan and was executed on time with no surprises. The consultant came to house on-time, measured the space, we discussed options, and I was able to make an easy decision on the configuration. (Hint: It will help your consultant, a lot, if you go through your closets beforehand and measure the linear feet of each type of clothing [shirts, pants, long coats, short coats/jackets, dresses, skirts, etc., as well as belts, ties, shoes, handbags, boxes/bins, etc.] That will save a lot of time and allow the consultant to put more thought into the configuration.) A two-man crew arrived on-time on the appointed day and was done in less than four hours, including patching and painting, in a large walk-in closet. I paid the extra to have them do the patching and painting to ensure everything was done in a timely manner. I could have done it myself, but I work slowly like a typical DIY'er. It was worth the extra money. Unless you're working on a small to medium size unit, with no extra rods and built-in shelving, I highly recommend to let them do this step. I need to acknowledge the staff that I worked with, because they were beyond amazing... I started the process with a designer who left the company halfway through my design process and was assigned to another designer, Lisa P. Initially I was bummed that I was losing my initial designer, but it turned out to be a blessing. Lisa did some amazing work designing our closet and made changes that really put it over the top. She went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy and made the right choices. The install process was with Eddie - He was on time, communicated with me so i knew when he would be arriving, and the install went great! He also, went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy, and made adjustments to work around issues that (honestlly....) I could see other installers getting sloppy with. I've had a lot of work done in my house over the years, and Eddie is really next level - I'm very grateful he was assigned to my job. He needs to be recognized for his attention to detail. We ordered a complete redo for our walk in closet. When the day for install came, I was surprised there was only one person for the job. I thought perhaps he would get started and someone would join him. Nope. They sent the right guy. He was professionalism on steroids. He was meticulous in removing our old shelves as well as prepping the walls and painting the areas that needed it. He made sure he communicated with me at every step to make sure it was right. He was here all day and for a few hours the next morning. You would never have known he was here. He worked diligently. At the end of the first day, I went in to check in on him and he was wiping down each of the 17 drawers I had installed. He covered everything with a tarp. his tools were super clean. He was just so impressive and now my closet is too. He was even very considerate about the mask. His name was Rafael and he makes me want to redo my pantry and other 3 closets in my house. I wanted to do a shout out for the excellent job that Terron & Josh did on installing our cabinets, work bench & slate wall in our garage and hanging shelf & slate wall in our laundry room. They called before arriving to let us know they were on their way. When they arrived, they verified the work they were there to do. Multiple times they checked in with us to ensure that what they were installing was to our liking & to make any adjustments we wanted. They finished in one day instead of the two days that was scheduled. Our salesperson, Angela took ample amount of time to measure the space carefully and explain everything to us. She was patient and designed exactly what we had wanted. For anyone looking to install storage projects we would recommend Closets by Design for their professionalism, efficiency & quality of work. This was our first time having custom closets and garage cabinets installed and it turned out to be a very positive experience. Our designer Jennifer was very prompt and knowledgeable and quickly whipped up highly effective designs for two closets and garage cabinets with a work bench. Gabriel and Alex, our installers, worked hard, were very affable and considerate, and did very high-quality work. Everyone I dealt with at Closets by Design (whether in person and over the phone) was very professional. The efficiency and quality of closet storage is now greatly improved and the garage cabinets and workbench look great and will help in storing and organizing tools and supplies. I wasn't sure if I was spending too much on this project but now, I see that the cost was probably well worth it (as was the wait for installation,which was shorter than other companies I had spoken with). We are so pleased with our new Closet by Design, and we have Dawn Hawco to thank! She did a perfect job of designing our new closet system. We appreciate her attention to detail and ability to get a true feel for what our needs were. Dawn truly is an expert! Wonderful experience with the install of a walk-in closet. The design process was very easy and the designer very knowledgeable and easy to work with, giving a lot of options and listening to our ideas. I used Cynthia as a designer and would highly recommend her. She was very good at looking at the closet and determining what type of system would work. I was so please with the outcome, I also had a reach in closet installed. Quality and install are very good. Installers are very nice and coccineous. They really want to do a great job for you. Upgrades are a little pricey. I did not op for any upgrades and I purchased during a great sale, so the cost was very reasonable. Time from design visit to install was about 1 month. I think this can be improved upon if you have a tight schedule. Not sure what's with the haters that review this company, but I give them a 5 star rating. read more

We recently bought a home in Goodyear AZ and wanted to design the perfect closet; one that was functional and cost effective. I met with Erica and she was able to look at the closet, measure and provided the design of an amazing closet. I only had a few minor tweaks to added. Erica was fantastic! She was very friendly and most accommodating. Most importantly she really listened to what I wanted and made it happen. I'm in sales and really listening to the customer is so critical. She did and went above and beyond to make the closet design awesome. The closet was just installed this past week and our installation guy was fantastic! Kimberly was amazing. I Just have a regular reach in closet in two of my bedrooms and they were packed with my things. She took a look, Drew a design and provided me with a TON more space. I have the same things in the closets, but everything is so easily accessible and I have room for more. I LOVE them. She was so wonderful that i will have her back to design my garages for me. Everything that I was told would happen, did. It was all done so professionally and timely. The installation crew always kept me informed as to when they would arrive. When they did, they were in and out in no time and no mess left behind. It was incredible. I purchased the low end materials, and they look very expensive. I moved back into a 30 year old townhome that I've had as a rental property for the past 18 years and it needed some attention. One of the home improvement projects that I was excited about was putting in a custom master closet. My walk in closet is fairly small 7x5 with a short diagonal wall which made it a bit tricky. Jennifer, my closet designer did a fantastic job listening to my needs and concerns and designed a completely functional closet with lots of double hanging space, a small section for long dresses, a floor to ceiling shelving unit for shoes, 5 drawers including a velvet jewelry drawer, a belt rack, a tie rack and a valet rod. She was very knowledgeable about what I wanted and what would fit into the spaces that I had. She was very, very quick to respond to any calls that I made and to help me with the changes that I made after I placed my order and changed my mind. The process was very easy and settled quickly. This is my first experience with Closets by Design and have to say it was a good one. A couple of things kept it from being excellent, one being not upfront with the tear down cost (that was resolved), but on the whole, Lindsay did a wonderful job designing for maximum usage, and Josh took that design and created a great closet system that is exactly what I had envisioned. It was a tricky closet (5 walls at different angles), but now looks like it belongs in model homes. Both Lindsay and Josh were very pleasant, easy to get along with, and very efficient/on time. Overall, I'm very pleased with how the closet project came out. The designer was very helpful, and there are ample choices for all price points. I do admit the installation process could have been better. I had a date for the installation, but until 3:30pm the day before, I had no idea if it would be 8am, noon, or after. I had to take a whole day off of work for a 3 hour installation, with so little notice as to time. The installers did a very nice job, but they arrived without part of my order. It took 3 hours for the parts to get to my house, and by that time the installers had been done with the rest of the project for awhile. I really like the finished project, minus the installation hassles. read more
