This review has been edited, as the first 2 months, were great. Amanda met with me, took many pictures and indicated the moxie girls use these pictures for consistency. Unfortunately it was different every time they came out. That is a small detail though, here are the large ones. They left the lock box open - TWICE, leaving our home exposed to anyone that came by. They put away wet towels - on top of the dry ones, leading to all the laundry needing to be redone. They left hairs throughout the bathroom. They folded and put away dirty towels (see pic for just one example) Food was frequently found underneath all cabinets There was zero spot checking or quality control. We brought these concerns to the owner Amanda and Brea the manager. After many attempts, and my husband meeting with them, to provide consulting tips, they felt we were too "detail oriented" I was even told by Amanda, they are not the cleaning service for people who focus on quality. I was happy to move on and find a company that does focus on quality. We respect the hard earned money of our renters being spent on our property - they deserve a home that is spotless. They will likely respond and mention some of their other rental homes maintain 4-5 star ratings. Ours did too - because for the last 2 months I would spend 1-2 hours recleaning the condo. I signed up for a home cleaning, and I have a two bedroom two bath house which is kept rather clean. There people showed up and we're here less than an hour. After leaving my shelves still had a layer of dust in my bathroom tub the shelves hadn't been wiped, the toilet had mold in 2 days and there were streaks all over my windows and several other items that required minimal effort beyond just wiping the surface. I reached out to the company, providing pictures immediately after their people left, and I realized how poor quality cleaning I received. They initially offered me a very small discount ($30) off my next cleaning and then rescinded that discount saying that their team did clean after talking to them. Taking their word vs photographic and video evidence and said I didn't pay for a deep clean. I've never had this issue with any other company. Simply dusting and wiping basic services has always fallen under a basic cleaning. If it doesn't, what do they even do?! BEWARE of this company. read more

We love Moxie Girl! They have been cleaning our home every other week for about a year now. They are very thorough and solicit feedback often. My favorite part about this company is that I don't have to crate or pen my dogs when they come to clean our home! I can leave them out and our Moxie, Jodi, wrangles them as necessary :) she is comfortable around both our dogs and cats, and that puts me at ease! Would definitely recommend! Non stop maid issues ........from finding a broken picture frame leaving broken glass all over the floor prior to the guests arriving....... cleaning rags left on a brand new comforter prior to the guests arrival ...non stop pilfering of supplies....maids ransacking house for hours ...camping all day for a small home easily cleaned in an hour or two at the most. One Maid sneakily stole our hidden keys and kept our keys in her car until confronted. Never followed protocols promised during selling services....removed expensive comforter without permission and charged me for the return of it back to me ..raised rates without notice or permission....on and on and on and mostly stealing......find another company ........many issues so it is not a one time occurrence......bad quality service..... we had an out of state rental so we checked up a lot and it was bad.... read more

This company is very very unprofessional and unresponsive. We were looking for a company to clean and service our vacation rental. We called 1/29 and spoke with Ashley at Moxie Girl who said she believed they could do the cleaning and setup we needed and she would have Amanda (the owner) call us. Amanda never returned our call, so on 2/6 we called back and spoke with Kelly with Moxie Girl to let her know we have not received a call back. She said Amanda will call me back that day. 5 days later, we still havent received a call back. Very disappointing, considering their website and reviews paint them in such a professional light. Maybe the reviews are fake from friends? We have one vacation rental, are currently prepping a second one, and were also looking at using their services in our personal life. Well Moxie Girl's business must be doing so well that they just don't need any new customers. I really wish I could figure out how to successfully run my business with out any new customers! Go Moxie Girl! I bought the Living Social and after one failed attempt to set up a cleaning date I finally was able to get someone to call me back. I was excited to get my house professionally cleaned for the first time and I thought if this works out and their prices are reasonable I will set up a monthly appointment. One women showed up and she was very nice and very professional, can't remember her name. She got to work on my list and did a great job. In the note she left me she explained the problems she had, like my vacuum didn't work well and why my dogs were running around the house on my clean floors. No big deal, overall I was happy. Let me tell you my fridge wasn't this clean when I first bought it brand new! So the negative, never heard back from anyone. Never got pricing or even an offer to continue to clean my house...Maybe the just don't want to clean my house specifically...I will try not to be offended by that thought. Their version of a 4 hour cleaning is pathetic. The girl that came to my house wiped my blinds, did a piss poor job on wiping my tables and chairs down, cleaned the microwave decently, left chemicals in my tub to dry and stain blue after she 'cleaned the bathrooms'. That's it. 4 hours. Couldn't get around to even sweeping my floors, let alone vacuuming after all that effort. 4 hours isn't much time i guess if you don't care. And she didn't! (PS - my house is 1150 sq ft and there was no furniture in it as we were putting it up for sale the following day). My husband and I cleaned up after her an additional 2 hours after we had already worked 8 hour days. Not helpful when we basically just cleaned it ourselves. Their remedy to 'make it right' was initially to give a touch up visit. Um, if your service sucked in the first place, why would I want another sucky service to make up for it? Weird logic. I asked for a refund. It was a pain in the butt to get a refund as it was purchased through AAA Deals. In conclusion, to save yourself a lot of hassle, use someone else! read more

I had my first Moxie Girl house cleaning recently. I was expecting a carload of girls to come in and just crank it out. Instead, I was happy to see one nice young guy show up. He cleaned down everything in the house, meticiously and methodically - it took him 5 hours. I cannot be happier with their (his) service. This was my first cleaning from a cleaning service. I met the owners of Moxie Girl long before I actually used the service, as often happens in a "small" town like Phoenix. When I did choose to move forward with house cleaning, it was when I was moving to a new home and wanted to have a thorough cleaning prior to moving. The owner (and person I knew), Amanda, came to my home to go through everything with me and provide an estimate. I was not there when the house was cleaned, but I thought the services provided were good enough to move on to a monthly cleaning service. I'll admit I had been a horrible cleaner prior to hiring someone, so having a regular deep-clean was appealing. Each time someone came to the house, he/she would do things I didn't expect, such as make my bed or put those cute hotel-style points on my toilet paper. I guess that, even if you're not a good cleaner, there are still things you would do differently, but that's one of the things you give up when asking for assistance, right? What I do love about Moxie Girl is their focus on customer service and the slew of services they provide. When cleaning, they use all-natural products, which I appreciate. I tried Moxie Girl for the first time last week, and I could not have been happier with my experience! My cleaning lady, Virginia, was on time ( even a little early. ) She immediately got to work and cleaned my house until it was immaculate. She paid attention to every detail. The only downside I had was that I felt badly that she cleaned by herself and didn't take a break. I was surprised that only one lady was sent to do the job. The price I was quoted varied between about 100$. I was actually charged the lowest end of the quote. After almost a 1.5 year of using Moxie Girls of Tempe Az, we regretfully have to terminate. We tried to explain to them that over $500 worth of supplies (towels, king sheet sets, pillows, glass containers, etc) just suddenly disappeared mainly from a locked closet that only the cleaners had access. This had occurred within a 2 month period and they just brushed it off without any recourse. This was our rental that we use occassionally for personal business and the week that we came back happened to be for our daughters wedding. So we not only had to spend almost 2 days scrambling to replace the missing items but it took energy away from enjoying a relaxing and exciting time. If we had not come back, who knows what else would have ended up missing in the coming weeks / months. Their service is only as good as the people they hire and like other cleaning services, quality seems to go down in time so you have to stay on top of quality or it will suffer. I did have my priority list ready. Jon was on time and said that he was there covering for someone. I hired Moxie girl to clean my home. The plan was to do a deep clean before my baby arrived, and clean once a month for another 2 months. Well, the baby came early but Moxie still came to clean. I walked in from the hospital, new baby in may arms to a fresh house that smelled amazing! Brea even emailed me after the first service to ask how it went. Any issues were addressed at the next visit (some were issues I would have caught had I been there, other issues were about the lack of "elbow" grease attention). Having Moxie there to clean meant more time cuddling my baby and less time worrying about my home. It was a true blessing. I only wish I could keep them coming. Finally a cleaner I can trust! I have had a lot of problems with cleaners in the past over charging and never doing a great job and that is never the case with Moxie Girls. Their team cleans does a great job and efficiently. I love that they can give you pricing for only portions of your house so that you don't have to waste money cleaning areas you don't use often. I paid an arm and a leg for Moxie Girl to clean my house and a little bit extra to have someone remove some caulk in the bathrooms and to remove ALL of the nails from the walls and cover all the remaining holes. The work was done while I was at work and I reviewed the efforts the following day in the sunlight. Everything was done satisfactorily with the exception of the ceramic stove top, which was not cleaned, and the approximately 21 nails left in my walls. I messaged Amanda (the owner) and she said that she could have someone out to take care of the nails and stove top for a small convenience fee of $60 because according to her there was no way to prove that the stove top hadn't been sullied or the 21 nails hammered into the walls since their initial visit. Long story short I took care of the nails and stove top on my own and kept my hard earned money in my pocket. Personally I do not recommend using Moxie Girl's for your house cleaning nor will I use them again in the future. Be fearful of a company that does not stand behind their initial commitment to perform a task. read more

Don't waste your time. I attempted to use Moxie Girl for 5 months for biweekly cleanings and they only came 3 times before I got fed up and cancelled. I liked the whole idea of having the same person come each time, I understand here or there they might need to send someone else, but the first girl they sent had some extreme emergency and couldn't come anymore, so they sent someone different the second and third time. As for the cleanings, they were, okay... They missed quite a few things, it was more of a going through the motions type clean... and it takes forever (4-5 hours). Each room or thing seems to be extra, so I had them clean certain areas every other time to save some money and since they weren't always used anyway. Except because a different person was coming each time, or they weren't keeping track - the areas did not get hit on that schedule. Their initial walk through process is so thorough and they give you a binder with checklists but that's where it ends. The reason I got fed up and cancelled, was because of the cancellations. I don't know if they understand that some people actually take the time to make sure that their house is ready for someone to come in and clean it, so every morning before the cleaner was due to show up - I would spend at least an hour making sure that all of my stuff was picked up and out of the way so that they could come in and clean, only for them to call me with an emergency as to why they couldn't come. They'd follow up saying they would try to squeeze me in later that week, which also never happened. I kept telling myself I would give them another chance but after 3 months of the same shit I had enough. When you have someone scheduled ahead of time to come and clean your house, you don't have time to figure out a backup plan when they cancel on you hours before. The managers were always super polite and apologetic, but c'mon - what do you expect me to do? So after months of being cancelled on same day - I called it quits and hired someone else for 2/3rds the price, they've never cancelled AND they clean my whole house, none of this every other time BS. Bottom line, the IDEA of Moxie Girl is great - execution? Not so much. read more

I originally came across this service on Facebook. Looks wonderful the more you check it out. They come in and do cleaning. Also organization in your home as well. There are different packages you can sign up for. I always wanted to do it but, never really had the extra $$$. However, they will send you emails with specials listed. I took advantage of this. I had a Moxie guy that came to clean. They bring all their own organic products, but you provide brooms and vacuums because of health reasons. The house smelled wonderful and clean when he was through. He even moved all the furniture to clean under it all. Which was great. I highly recommend it was great. I'd renovated the Master Bath and wanted their help to organize the bath. I arranged for 3 hours or so. Jim not only set up the bathroom in a logical and convenient way, he also totally revamped my walk-in closet, as well as tackling several other cluttered closets. The speed and proficiency with which he worked made me very happy. Now that the New Year has arrived, I am contemplating having Moxie Girl back out. Tax time is here and mine and my husband's office need some attention. Hire this company with confidence. Original review follows: I got a WeeklyPlus deal, 15 hours for $315. I scheduled three 5-hr days and planned to use that time to organize my garage. I figured it would take that long. One gal showed up and I got a little nervous. It's 4-car garage, but this gal was equal to the task. I worked alongside her, which is what I expected. Mostly, I directed 'keep, toss, donate'. Her supervisor showed up part way through and helped with moving heavier items around. Kat finished the garage halfway through her second visit. so she did my pantry room and cleaned a bathroom. She left early and tacked the remaining hour onto her third visit. During that visit she organized and decluttered my husband's closet, then set her sights on my kitchen. She reorganized it completely, then scrubbed it down. So yes...I think this company totally knows what it's doing. read more

I bought a groupon or Living Social deal with Moxie Girls. I was very excited to get my house cleaned for 3 hours for $59. I thought what a great deal...boy was I wrong. I was expecting at least 2 people to show up at my house. One girl came. I was not there when she arrived but I got home moments later. My fiancee had her start with a list that I had written up. They had asked me to do this with my priorities. When I arrived home she was cleaning the blinds in the kitchen...I thought great, the other girl must be in the other room. I proceeded outside to see my fiancee and ask about the other girl as I didn't want to interrupt. I was told she was the only one. I went back in and she asked me to go over the list with her and I told her I really want the bathrooms, kitchen and blinds done. After I told her that she stopped on the blinds and went to the bathrooms. I guess I should have been watching her as I really don't know what she did. She did end up cleaning the bathrooms but none of the other blinds were done and there was still grime on the shower and bathroom walls. Towards the end of the 3 hours a supervisor did arrive to see how she was doing. At this time I had not gone around the house until after she had left to notice what was done and what was not done. I thought she was doing fine. She did end up cleaning the floors which was her last job and then she thanked me and left. I walked around the house as this time and noticed that she had not dusted anything, the grime was still on the bathroom walls, the blinds were not done and to top it off she had caught my phone charger in the vaccuum as it was all ripped up. I did end up calling and telling them this and they are in the process of paying me for a new one. So I do have to give them props for good customer service...still waiting for the check but it's only been a few days since this has happened. I did tell them nicely that for what she did she did an okay job but that they should have really sent 2 people as my fiancee and I had to still clean the house. They explained to me this was the first time they had tried a groupon and were still learning. So if you do try them tell them to bring at least 2 people. It shows on their website that they also do other things such as hosting parties, hanging decorations, etc. which is a great idea. read more

Hired Moxie Girl to clean the house I moved out of. They were great! They took care of everything I asked them for and was very satisfied with the results. One of the two girls did mess up the shower door by taking it off its track and leaving it for some reason, but no big deal I fixed it. I know I am SOOOO late with this review, but I guess better really really late then never! My husband and I host an annual holiday party every year and we have been fortunate enough to have Moxie Girl help us for the last 4 years! I usually request the lovely Amanda (my hubs is from SD as well), she wasn't available this year, so we were lucky enough to have Erin help us this year! I had a couple requests from Amanda if I couldn't have her at my party, 1) my Moxie Girl had to be a clone of Amanda and 2) she had to come to my home a few days before and see the "lay of the land". On Friday, the day before the party, in walked Erin! Ummm, hello Amanda look-alike! She came ready to learn, with a note pad and pen. What???? I asked Erin what Erin had prepped her about my party, and she said "No burlap, and don't let Heather get the pizza out of the oven". Well played Amanda!!!!! I've been using Moxie Girl for over a year now - they started by doing a "move out" clean when we left a house that I was renting and did such a fantastic job in helping me ensure I got my entire security deposit back! When I moved into my new home, I had Moxie Girl start coming out on a monthly to do the "big stuff" around the house that my wife and I don't really like to do. I can be a bit difficult when it comes to scheduling and I've really appreciated how flexible and communicative they've been with me to make sure my needs are being met.
