I accepted very little money for 1 basket of clothing and a Coach bag. I took in only professional clothing for plus size and evening gowns. I wish the person who told me about not bringing in hangers would have told me that they only take 4 bags, or baskets each visit. Your location was the one I shopped at over a year ago & I was told something very different about items that you pick and buy from sellers. This story is pretty cool! It's got some better good quality clothing. Unlike goodwill or Plato's I really didn't find a lot of run down or faded clothing. They are not too pricey on top of that. They lady running the store was also very helpful and attentive as she kept an eye on customers to offer shopping bins and dressing rooms. I visited during the 90% clearance sale to purchase items to send to my family out of the country. I ended up buying over 200 pieces of clothing, but the selection was already limited. While checking out, I asked the cashier to confirm that all items qualified for the sale. He assured me they did, but it was clear he wasn't really checking and was just scanning items quickly. After the transaction, I immediately noticed some items did not qualify. He refunded a few on the spot, which I appreciated. However, there were about 10 tops that I also noticed on the receipt while I was still in the store. The cashier told me I could bring them back later for a refund since I had multiple bags and it would take time to sort through everything. I trusted that information. When I got home and reviewed everything, I realized I had paid about $100 for items that were not part of the sale and that I did not want. Unfortunately, I later found out there is only a 7-day return window, which I was not aware of, and now I'm unable to return them. Overall, this was a frustrating experience. I feel I was given inaccurate information, and the lack of clear communication cost me money. On top of that, the cashier's attitude made the situation worse--he seemed irritated throughout the process and even made an unnecessary comment when I decided not to purchase a pair of boots. This place is honestly a joke... They are way too picky on with what they buy. I knew when I was seeing so many ladies coming out with huge bins and bags of clothes that they probably weren't going to take much of my items. All my clothing always in perfect condition, but seeing how they priced things, now understanding that they give you 1/3 of retail price so they can jack up their price to 2/3 once they sell. So first impression of the resale shop going in people are friendly, but it doesn't look like a resale shop and I understand that it's just because it's nice as it mean anything here's my point. This location is in Selma, which is close to San Antonio San Antonio. We're not doing well with our economy in San Antonio. I don't know if anybody's noticed and we are number three in the nation for obesity. with that being said, I took clothes that still had tags that were right up their alley in my opinion then I took some that weren't of their alley and I knew that they weren't gonna be up there. Aly and I was good with that because I just wanted to see all the sizes not so sizes 14 up sorry you don't get shop there. They don't carry it which makes no damn sense to me at all. I am not a size 14 I'm a size 7 but for people that are on the side, which is a lot of people here. I'm sorry for them. I don't wanna go shop and see Louis Vuitton and Chanel. That's not a resale shop in my opinion is a scam they are they have way too many products in that little store, I'm a tell you why because they're not smart about how they're doing things at all pay luxury items Louis Vuitton the same amount as they would be at a pawnshop that is a scam. I do not agree with it. I was disappointed and it's my opinion not a resale shop that takes used clothing this is a place that wants luxury items preferably not ever worn so they can give you one sent to the dollar and triple their money don't waste your time. Going in there to shop or drop off clothes am my opinion. You're gonna find the best deals on Poshmark or OfferUp, which takes a little bit more time and they might be a little bit more use, but I guarantee you if you're looking for good quality, used products a good price this is not the place. read more

I think a three star rating is justified. It's a touch and go situation with them. I see amazing customer service happening here but unfortunately I've never experienced the warm welcoming side of this location. I've still been loyal simply for the deals. Yesterday may have been the nail in the coffin though. Let's set the scene. I'm browsing as usual and come across booties I adore. It's towards the end of my shopping so I take them upfront. As the woman is ringing things up I remember the return policy for shoes and say "oh, let me try those on first. Just in case." I do so. Unfortunately they don't fit. While I'm bending down trying them on I hear her having trouble entering the bill amount and ask for help from another employee. Not a second later I pop up and say "they don't fit". She opens the register in that second. I say "I'm not going to take these." This woman.....with my money still in hand says to me.... "They're final sale." Mind you. They still have the SECURITY TAG on them..... They haven't even touched a bag yet. They didn't even leave the counter. What kind of game is this?! I'm a very nice person but I'll stand my ground firmly. Long story short. She returned the money for them. File closed right? The end? Nope. To add insult to injury she says AND I QUOTE! "Yeah, the return policy can be hard to learn but you have to remember it." Rude. Unprofessional. Disrespectful. Awful customer service let alone basic manners. I'll still come here. Clothes Mentor has lots of used clothing in different colors and sizes. They are neatly organized by sizes and colors,no need to dig through a bunch of clothes trying to find your size. Incredible! I'm an avid shopper - I love a good deal. This was genuinely the nicest consignment shop I've ever been in - and I've gone to way too many lol. Great deals, HIGH QUALITY (very impressive. Usually the "high quality" shops have lots of items that have flaws but I didn't see any flaws on anything except for very minor wear). Nice designer and cheaper items to fit every budget. 15% military discount. Kind, patient staff and nice atmosphere. So so nice. I have never even put a review up for a shop before (only review other than this is the gym I work at, where I was a member for 1.5 years before working there). Came here today to sell some items that were all in great condition and most even name brands. I was told that they didn't meet their standards but yet I've seen far worse items on their racks many times!!! The sales associate seemed very uninterested in me or my clothes but yet I've noticed quite often they willingly buy from other ethnic groups!!! Now mind you I shop here very very frequently and they never have a problem with taking my money!!! Stopped by this store while on a quick trip to San Antonio this past weekend. The store is beautiful has a boutique feel to it. My daughter and I found some great shoes looked brand new! I would of purchased so much more but I had to control myself lol. I didn't even know they had recently opened as the store was very well run and the staff seemed like pro's. I've shopped at the 410 location many times and tried selling my clothes there several times but they never buy anything. I recently noticed this location on 35 and stopped by this week. They were having a 30% off sale on marked items. I brought in some clothes to sell expecting to be rejected like I have been at the other store but they bought 4 items! You get a little more if you choose to get store credit so I did and it worked out perfectly because I emded up purchasing a pair of jeans and a maxi dress for a total of $8 after the credit was applied. The employees were super nice and helpful. The store was well organized. I will definitely be back soon. read more

Came in and was put off by the constant back to back country music playing a bit too loud to my ears. I have dealt with other annoying music genres so I continued to shop but then realized what I was listening to. I didn't get to look around to shop but I did walk in to sell. I had 2 boxes of shoes BRAND NEW & a duffle bag full of clean, unworn clothes. In the end they wanted to give me $16 for the two pairs of shoes and 2 tips. I had to ask her if I heard $16 correctly. That is just insane, I was basically just giving them away for free.
