The store was laid out nicely and items were properly labeled by size. I selected two dresses and felt the price points were a good value. An employee promptly assisted me with getting a dressing room w/o me asking first. Staff were helpful in getting out a small stain I noticed on one of the dresses before I decided to purchase. I declined a plastic bag and was entered into a monthly raffle for doing so. In addition, I was told about a points program for frequent shoppers which sounded beneficial if you are an area resident. read more

The manager or person who claimed to be the manager was unable to resolve an issue with a return. Her solution was to wave a handwritten sign in my face that called out their policy. I was returning one of several items I purchased as a gift 2 days earlier. The store tags were still on it, but I could not find the receipt. I was told that the only way I could return the item was to allow them to buy it back at a lower price, I was offered no other solution or remedy. I asked to connect with the manager or owner and was given an email address only. This shop is NOT CUSTOMER FOCUSED. I like shopping here but had a super weird experience selling to them and I honestly feel scammed. Basically when I checked out after selling to them the girl said "we took these four things and you will get a cash for $18 or credit of $20" showed me a basket where I could see 4 items they said they took from me. It wasn't until after I checked out and chose to use the $20 credit towards a new purchase that I saw on the receipt that they actually took 7 of my items. 3 of which (that were not visible in the basket) were pretty good brands and should have received over $20 credit for... So they tricked me into accepting $20 credit for only 4 items when they took 7 and it was not disclosed until I saw the receipt when I got home. Never selling here again. read more

I bought some Micheal Kors hand bags and a jMclaughlin straw bag as well as some Swarovski jewelry. They are very helpful and had my estimate in about 15 minutes. The timing depends on how many people are in front of you. Although I would have liked more it was fine! I had watches that they didn't want so I donated them. Brought clothes in to sell waited for them to process my friend and I walked around the store. They had some nice stuff. After two hours we were not notified my stuff was ready they said they sent text to my phone I never got any text. It's a rip off if you are trying to sell your clothes. They give you 90 cents for a new item that is labelled $24. They offered me less than $9 for 3 shirts and two pairs of shoes - the shoes were almost brand new. One of the shirts was an Eddie Bauer wrinkle free shirt! They cherry-pick your stuff saying it does not meet their "style guidelines". It's insulting, it's them saying you have no style. You'd do better to donate your stuff to Goodwill and claim it off your taxes. I am NEVER going back. read more

First off- the store is cute. It's decorated nice and it's a lot cleaner than Plato's closet. I dropped off my items and browsed around the store. I noticed Lulu lemon and athleta brand items sold for 20+ dollars. I had brought in all Lulu lemon and Athleta items- very good condition. They wanted to take 17 items and offered me 66 dollars for them. Thats about 4 dollars a piece. Where is the extra money going?? That is like a slap in the face when each item is at least 60 dollars a piece and I brought in 17 of them!! I will not recommend this place to my friends as they steal your clothes. The worst reseller out there. I had my daughter take 2 LBD's 2 cocktail dresses, a black silk like jumpsuit, black spanx dress pants and a Navy blazer. All items were brand new with tags. All items were 4 season wear. All items were bought this year and known brands. I was away and my daughter just took the offer( which I would not have done) the "cash" from the sale. $8.00 yup a little over One dollar per item. I contacted the store and their answer " thanks for the feedback" Too many other places out there and online to use. I will remind everyone not to go there seems shady. Update the mgr stating the jumpsuit was from Walmart. It was not it was as from QVC the tag showed that. The company is good and I have had success at other locations, clearly this one needs help. If you have a never been here, or maybe if you haven't even shopped their online store...... you're not living the right way! Yes, resale changed my life for the better, but this place specifically has been nothing but a godsend! I have a little bit of a shopping addiction, and I love expensive high-quality designer items to be my wardrobe. Given the economic hardships that we are all facing these days, it has become increasingly difficult to find quality items in excellent condition all at an affordable price!!!! Well let that be a thing in the past, because I can honestly say, I found all of those things in one place both in the store, physically and online! A great addition to the area! I've taken a few bags of clothes here to be sold- they are quite picky about what they take (ex. within the last 2 years, perfect condition, certain brands/styles), but they give you a very fair price for what they do decide to take. In addition to clothes, they take nice shoes, wallets, purses, clutches, belts, etc. While I was waiting for them to go through my clothes, I shopped around. They do have plus-sizes and petites, but a smaller selection than "normal" sizes. However, I love that they have plus-size clothes available at all. I saw a few nice pairs of jeans and pants, and a few interesting tops- but since I was cleaning out my closet, I didn't let myself try anything on! They also had some pretty shoes but none in my size (10.5)- I don't hold it against them, it's even hard to find my size in shoe stores! They had a great selection of purses, from a gorgeous, expensive Coach leather tote bag to Kate Spades to Michael Kors to lesser known brands- and much cheaper than if you bought them new. Overall, a fun store to browse- and a great way to find some awesome new items for your wardrobe without breaking the bank. It's also a great place to take used clothes for money- but keep in mind that they are picky, so don't be insulted if some of them are given back to you! read more

They sold me a BROWN bag online, $32 + shipping. They shipped me an olive green bag. I called, they sent a label to return it. AFTER giving me a hard time. The PO coulldn't print or scan the label. I had to pay $12.45 out of my pocket to return it. Then I called to tell them and they told me to pound sand. Will be doing a credit card chargeback. DO NOT order online from this or any of the PA stores. They have no policies and don't know how the usps works. They dont know how to get a refund for their unusable label... And the whole time, they are basically calling me a liar. I asked 25 people at least, the bag is GREEN. I called and asked Euniqua to get the owner to call me back or at least answer 1 of my 4 emails. NOTHING. Avoid this store at all costs. They are not good business people. This is my favorite used clothes store around West Chester. Note I never sold to them, so I cannot talk about selling experience. I will talk about the positives first: The store is clean and well organized by clothing type (e.g. Sweaters, shorts, dresses, pants, etc). There is a kids area with books and toys and arm chairs for men to sit on while women are browsing ;) The staff is very helpful. They will greet you and tell you about the sales that go on there that day as soon as you walk in the door. They will get a pile of clothes off your hands and start a fitting room for you. They are very helpful if you ask for help finding something. I would say the level off customer support is the same as in regular stores like Banana Republic and Ann Taylor. Now the negatives: Prices are a bit steep for what I would expect from a used clothing store. Some items, such as sweaters ($20) Can be bought for the same price new on sale. On the other hand, name brand dresses (also $20) cannot. The other negative has to do with selection. They have what other people are too large or small for or what other people don't want. It seems to be the latter most of the time. Most of the sweaters are itchy and I cannot wait to get out of them as soon as I put them on. Pants just don't seem to fit right. Tops have open back/excessive cleavage/otherwise not desirable. I have to browse forever and try on 20 things to buy one item. Takes a long time to find quality clothes. Overall, not a bad place and you can save some money if you are willing to browse for a long time. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews because each business can pick or choose to sell or purchase as they please. If this store chooses to buy basic mall brands and disregard brand new items (with tags!) from Connie K, Lucky, Tahari, Christian Louboutin, Armani, etc., then this is their choice, they know the customer they want to bring into the store. What I will not stand for are employees that are disrespectful and make people feel small. My mother took in a bunch of clothing for me because I was working. They made her come several times because they were busy, then wait, then come pick up everything because they would not keep it overnight. They were unapologetically condescending to the point where she felt small and inferior. They claimed items still in plastic were stained or torn. This was three large bags of clothing, 50% of it new with tags from some size changes in my closet. Then they took a few items worth 10 times the resale value such as a Patagonia vest (almost new) for which they gave her $2. A complete scam. She felt so shamed she just accepted the money. I understand completely if your clientele does not match the item presented. Train your staff to have some service skills when working with your customers. You lost us for certain, and I will be certain to tell every person who asks about a resale shop to consider to stay far away. read more

Clothing - some of it is outdated stuff and tacky. Shoes - they have nice shoe display but it's not marked other than a sticker on the bottom. They should have visuals to easily distinguish the difference so you are not picking up every damn shoe. They over stuff the end racks to where it's hard to maneuver around and the in isle rack are to stuffed to where you can't look at each shirt. They just kinda throw anything everywhere it needs to be more organized. They take preference to "sellers" that stay in store and wait over "drop in sellers" and leave and come back. I dropped my stuff off to sell one time and told them I would come back and they told me two hours. Well 6 hours later I finally got a call. At platos closet or style encore it's first come first serve. At clothing mentor it is not, they go by priority. In the future I will shop at platos closet or style encore over clothes mentor because their prices and selection is better read more

I usually do not find items that I like at consignment stores due to them being poor quality or out of style, but this has not been the case for Clothes Mentor! I love that they have the name brands I love for at a fraction if the price and little to no wear. I also really love that they post available items on social media so you can have an idea of what's new & available. I stopped in with 2 of my friends for the first time tonight. it was much bigger than i was expecting. similar idea to Plato's Closet - can sell or buy. the staff was super friendly and loved that they would ask your name, take your selections, and put it on a rack for you to try on when you're ready. they constantly would check in and help in any way. great selection of shoes, purses, belts, scarves, clothes and a huge wall full of jewelry. could totally spend hours in there browsing everything. It has a good layout and learned that when you reach white colored items on the rack, it would move up to the next size. what a great idea! the place was very clean and smelled good (not that worn clothing smell like some places). I would definitely recommend a visit for great deals that are in season. read more

I took shorts and skirts that I bought in Ann Taylor Loft. At most I wore them three times. Everything was dry cleaned. While I waited an hour and a half for them to review my cloths I looked around at everything. I was so sure they would be delighted. My items were better and more fashionable then anything they had in the store. And in way better condition. Some still had tags. Well I was wrong. They sent me packing because the items were over two years old - even thought they were still in style and in excellent condition. Policy. Sad really since I am sure others would have loved them! I went to good will and donated them. Goodwill had better stuff for a lot less!! Unless you want to waste time and be insulted stay far away. Feel good and donate. I love clothes. I love buying them and hunting for good deals. So it goes without saying that I love Clothes Mentor. Everything is laid out in an organized and spacious manner. That is awesome. The staff is friendly and attentive. However, I dropped off 3 items I was willing to sell to them. The first being an unworn, new-in-box season-old pair of Calvin Klein pumps. The second a beautiful green and black Diane Von Furstenberg skirt. And the final item was a pair of UNWORN brand new Born clogs. I returned to find that they would be giving me $12 total for the skirt and pumps. They were passing on the Born clogs because --get this-- I had removed the Macy's sticker that was INSIDE of the shoe. If you take a walk around that store you will find shoes that are OUT OF SEASON and in much worse condition than mine. I don't understand their criteria. I feel like they don't know fashion very well. Oh! And before I left the women goes "oh, wait! I see a scratch on the pumps, I'm afraid they won't be part of the deal." HELLL NOO. I brought them in in immaculate condition. I leave them 2 days and all of a sudden they are no good? Please. I told her and she decided to overlook it. With that said, go in and buy some items. I told her I was very interested it it, but would like to use my 20% coupon. She asked her manager and said she doesn't have a coupon code and would have to speak with the owner. I was very excited to find out about a new consignment store in the area and was beside myself when I decided to go in just a few days after the grand opening. First, to be fair, I have to say the store is gorgeous. It was meticulously kept and had great merchandise. But I was very disappointed by the lack of customer service. I was not greeted when I walked in, or at any time during my 30 minutes in the store. I tried on in the dressing room several times, put back the clothes I wasn't interested in, found more to try on, and rehung the clothes again. I checked out the shoes, tried on some. I was considering making a purchase when I got frustrated that not one employee had even given me a single hello. And there were definitely more employees than customers in the store at the time. There were 2 behind the counter not ringing anyone up, 2 talking right outside the dressing room that sounded like managers because they were discussing coming in later at night to work on the store, and several walking around and fixing the racks. I'd like to go back because my need and want for nice clothes at affordable prices trumps the awful customer service but I sure hope this was a one time thing. I made my first and very last trip to clothes mentor this past weekend. Bringing in my spring/summer clothes after switching over my closet from my winter to summer wardrobe. (After hearing multiple commercial advertisements about bringing in your spring and summer clothes which they wanted to enhance their inventory. With two bags of clothes and several business suits that were dry cleaned and on hangers, three pair of designer shoes and three designer handbags that all had rarely been warn I was highly upset and disappointed that they took all of the items that had been purchased from T J Maxx or H & M. None of the Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, J Crew, Brooks Brothers and Nordstrom clothing that either had never been warn or still had price tags on them did they want which is mind blowing. They are definitely not the level of my favorite store "Greene Street Consigment" who's selection screams classy, unique, sporty, clean and awesome selection of clothes, shoes, handbags and jewelry. The tone that they have set for an Amazing consignment store is bar none. All the items that clothes mentor did not accept will go to Greene Street as I know that they will gladly take them and sell in no time. Do not waste your time going to a mediocre store like clothes mentor when you can receive a better experience and a much better selection at Greene Street Consigment. As I was leaving out with all my clothes a lady stopped me to say how disappointed she was in her experience at the store and how surprised she was that they did not take more of my designer clothes, shoes and handbags. We both agreed that we would not waste our time going forward returning to clothes mentor. Our time was much better spent at Greene Street in West Chester. read more

I have made hundreds upon hundreds of dollars selling things to Clothes Mentor. I love this place. There is no better feeling than cleaning out your closets AND making money back on things you would have donated or have never worn. There are some bad reviews on here from some other sellers, but I'll give it to you straight with my four tips below: 1. HAVE REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS. Before you decide to take something to clothes mentor, look at what you're selling and ask yourself "If this belonged to a total stranger, what would I pay them for it?" Is it wrinkled? Iron or steam it. Does it have a stain? Clean it. Does it smell like smoke or have your cat's fur on it? Consider your presentation. They want to put these things on a hanger immediately and sell them, so the better they look the more likely you are to make a sale. Remove yourself from what you paid and/or what the original retail value was, because no one wants to pay anywhere near what you paid or they would buy it new themselves. 2. SHOP AROUND. Look around the store at what other similar items are selling for. This way, you will have an idea of what you can expect. When you actually shop at clothes mentor, you will find brand name and designer clothes that are priced to move. Well, the logic there is that someone brought it in, and they were offered about a half or 40% of what the store is selling it for. If an item is new, then you'll get more. If a previously worn pair of Chanel sunglasses cost $55 at the store, then the person selling them probably made about $20. Not earth-shattering money, especially if you paid $400, but hey, if you're not wearing them and won't be wearing them anymore, then $20 is better than gathering dust in your drawer. Let someone else enjoy them and buy yourself some wine next door. 3. DON'T TAKE THINGS PERSONALLY. If they don't accept an item, it's because it is unlikely to sell. Plain and simple. Not because you're dirty, have bad taste or bad judgment in clothing. I had gorgeous designer jeans, new, with distressing. They don't accept distressed jeans. Why? Not because I have bad taste, but because their history of buying and selling shows them what moves. Distressed jeans don't move like jeans that look brand new and more plain. Oh well! Don't be insulted or discouraged, move on. 4. DISCOVER EBAY. If you read 1-3 and think you would get more money on Ebay. Sell it on ebay! I don't have the time or the interest in dealing with the people and issue there, so I would rather sell to Clothes Mentor. Also, the more things you sell at Clothes Mentor, the more points you collect toward 20% off your total purchase. I'm saving my 20% off for when the right Louis Vuitton bag comes in. Clothes Mentor is my go-to store for career wear. I'm a college professor and I teach teachers, so I'm always looking for professional pieces that can transition from the conference room to the classroom. The prices at this store are amazing. Every few months, I meet with a personal stylist who selects head-to-toe outfits for me. I typically come out of this store with several fully accessorized outfits each visit. The women who work here are very friendly and always willing to help you navigate the racks for that perfect piece. I highly recommend this store!!! read more

Clothes mentor is the best!!! I live in Boston and every single time I come home to West Chester I HAVE to make a trip to Clothes Mentor!!! On my last trip, I got a very inexpensive ($10-20, I don't remember exactly!) Vera Bradley tote. I get so many compliments on it!! My favorite thing about this store is the Lilly Pulitzer dresses. I got a beautiful dress for $25. Lilly dresses normally cost $200+, so this was such a steal!! The staff is always so nice, and my favorite thing is that they post pictures of their items online. You can call and give your credit card info and purchase items over the phone that they post on Facebook. I saw on Facebook that they recently had a Burberry women's jacket and just missed snagging it!! All in all, this is my favorite store in West Chester and a part of every trip home for me. read more

I called this store today to explain that I had quite a few brand new, never used items still in their packaging and/or with tags on them. They belonged to my wife who passed away in March. I also explained that the items were very large - size 4x and 5X and was the young lady sure they would work for this store - yes, I was told bring them in and we'll take a look. So I drove from Wilmington DE to WC PA and wasted 2 hours up and back in travel and wait time only to be told by the same young lady to whom I had spoken on the phone - sorry we actually only take sizes up to 3X - so sorry - yeah that apology helped a lot as a I drove home in a torrential downpour. I have always had a good experience bringing in clothing to sell. They are pretty fair and will definitely offer you better prices then some other local consignment shops. While shopping there though I find it difficult. The product is product is pretty jammed packed on the racks making it difficult to look through options. It makes it a little overwhelming! read more

Store is clean and friendly. Clothing on sale is fairly priced. I really like how there is a wide age range and styles at the store - I stopped going to Plato's Closet because it always felt like it was for a much younger girl. If you're selling- give them time. On average, I don't get that much but they pay better and more on average (I've sold here twice) then using ThredUp or Plato's Closet. read more
