Very very picky accepting clothes and purses. Outrageous prices. Won't go there again

I took in a bag of summer clothes, all name brands and of high quality; they were current styles and most had not been worn at all previously; a few items with tags still on them. The items that had been worn, were worn only once or twice, and had been freshly laundered. They took one item (with tags on it) and told me the rest were worn. That's fine, not true, but fine. I assumed that they just did not want the items I had brought in, as they did have a excessive abundance of summer items hanging in the store. However, when I returned home, I found that two items were missing, gone, never to be seen again. This is more than a little disappointing; if I knew I was going to be gifting the store personnel, I would have taken my items to the Goodwill in the parking lot, at least it would have been giving to a good cause. read more

There is a great selection of great quality clothing and the staff at this location are super friendly. I just wish they would reopen a store closer to Amherst cause this one is a bit of a drive for me. read more

In mid-October 2025 when the weather was warm one day, then chilly the next, I did not have enough time to drive home to change for a date later that night. In comes Clothes Mentor in a pinch. First, you must understand that I nearly primarily shop Clothes Mentor for my professional work, casual, and comfy leisure attire. I recommend their store to co-workers, friends, and family. Yes it does take some time to find exactly what you like, and going in with a flexible idea of what you're looking for helps tremendously! On this particular day, I needed a dressy casual outfit for a date in the city. I walked in looking for a sweater and jeans. Julia and Emma were working (with one other person), and I told them my plight. I had 20 minutes to find an outfit. They jumped right in to help me find jeans that fit just right in a light denim color, a warm-ish sweater in warm beige tones, and THE PERFECT congac wide heeled leather boots in just my size! They approved of the outfit, cashed me out, and I was on my way! Thank you Clothes Mentor staff for another amazing experience! I will be back soon! read more

Seems ok in here. The people I dealt with were very nice. I went to see if they would buy any of my 'old' clothes. They didn't end up taking any, which was fine. Place is very clean, and very organized especially with all of their inventory. I went on my lunch break so I didn't have time to look around, but I will go back and check it out. It's in a large plaza, so there's plenty of parking. read more

I was referred to Clothes Mentor by a friend to see if I had luck taking my clothes to consignment. Now her(my friend) both shop at Nordstrom (not Rack), Dillards, Macy's and sometimes JCPenny's, but mostly Nordstrom. I sent two bags that I did not one to get rid of, well one bag did have items that were older, but still good quality. These people told me that they were out dated and old!!! Some items were not even 5 years old and I put almost everything in the cleaners because my clothes are not cheap. I have some leather and good sued skirts in the bag, that looked fresh out the store. To make this short, they lie about your items. There items doesn't look at good at Ross for Less and the Ross' that are here in NY State are terrible.. Cheap clothes. And Clothes Mentor's clothes, go look, they are cheap. My friend was right, they don't take items from African American women. And for the record, a white female had a hand full of clothes as I was leaving, CHEAP, Falling from her arms nothing folded. I know fashions when I see it. I bet you any money that they accepted her clothes. It's all good, their shoppers lucked out on my clothes!! read more

Not worth the trip....had some nice merchandise some still had tags....didn't even get five dollars and I drove from Buffalo....

On my drive home from work, I came up 277 specifically for this Clothes Mentor location. I brought my basket in, and was told the wait would be 25 - 30 minutes for them to process what they wanted. Okay! I looked around and tried on SEVERAL clothing items. I like the plus-size selections much better at the East Amherst store. Regardless, I bought a tank top, a sweet pair of Melissa McCarthy for Seven jeans, and a Thirty-One purse that would have cost me $50+ at a party. All for $21, after they deducted the price of the clothes they bought from me. Yeah! I'll take it!! I will definitely come here again with my next basket of clothes, shoes, purses, wallets, scarves... Plus, their employees were very nice and friendly which I appreciated! read more

I took a bag of clothes that were way too nice to give away. I had a few items that were even brand new with tags still attached, $36.99 and $34.99, blouses, not even 1 year old, never worn. I was absolutely insulted when they offered me $3.20 for the both! I will never return, not to sell OR buy. I'll find a consignment shop instead. read more

Love this store and the West Seneca location is my favorite. Its well organized and they always have a great selection. Prices are very reasonable and they also have a good stock of handbags and shoes. The employees are very friendly and helpful. They don't give you much for clothes but I'm sure that's how they keep their prices so low. Definitely recommend this location. read more

I always shop here. I'm not sure what is going on at this location. Sizes are all over the place. Dozens of M and L in the small sections. I'm sure customers are throwing things wherever, but seeing the condition of the store, no one is cleaning up the racks. The store is a mess. I saw a pair of size 4 jeans with a very visible ink spot on them. In fact, the quality of the clothing has really taken a dive. Holes, marks, rips. I think the staff needs to look a little harder before purchasing. I looked at a purse....it was filthy inside. I know this is gently used clothing, but come on. It will be some time before I come back. Also, the air freshener is absolutely horrible. Tone it down or just remove it. I would have shopped longer if it wasn't for the headache I got from smelling that thing. read more

I come here maybe once or twice a year, and each time I spend hour sin the store trying on dozens and dozens of things. I would feel bad, except for the fact that I usually spend a couple hundred dollars every time I am there. I basically get my entire wardrobe there- and since it's affordable, I can get trendy pieces that won't last, as well as find big names that usually cost a fortune, for 20-30 bucks. They did change the format for their cards though, so my loyalty points are digital- and they somehow lost them last time I Was there, and you need to spend them in 90 days. So that is not ideal- but the clothes are still great. It's the best parts of a thrift store- the cheap prices, without having to go through all the garbage to find the gems- they sorted the gems for you. OH, and it's sorted by color of the rainbow and by style, which is exactly how my home closet is sorted, too! read more
