During my recent visit to Dallas I checked out this consignment shop. The merchandise is top notch and there is plenty of it. But that's the problem. There is soo much merchandise. And after taking a look at some of the price tags, I can understand WHY there is so much merchandise - Overpriced! The staff was friendly and they DO have a daily special for certain color tickets. However, the merchandise in store is not priced to sell. Its a shame because this place had some really great labels and the staff was super nice. But in the end, it just provided a nice place to peruse designers I can only dream of owning. read more

I agree that this is the best consignment shop in Dallas and I have shopped here for years. The clothing is great; however with that being said I have bought two pieces of Jewelry that I was told were David Yurman, and come to find out they were not. This was told to me by the exact same sales person each time. Don't trust them....make sure you verify what they say is what it actually is. read more

Very nice consignment store! There were SO many designer clothes, but plenty of affordable prices. The store had a nice atmosphere - very clean and organized - and all of the clothes were high quality, even if they were used. Even though I live in LA, I take trips to Dallas to shop at Clotheshorse. Every time I visit , I find a unique item that continues to draw attention. My latest favorite, a pair of handmade chocolate leather Brazilian boots for a steal, a gorgeous HENRY BEGUELIN handbag made affordable, and a one-of-a-kind opal and silver ring. People literally stop me on the street and ask about my clothing and accessories curated by Clotheshorse! Clotheshorse has many treasures, and has been very good to me through the years! read more

Hit or Miss on sizes...but when it is a hit...it is fantastic! Love all the Rich people wearing something once and dropping it off for us bargain shoppers....YEAH! One of the best women's consignment stores in Dallas. They have a very large selection it is separated by upscale designer items, category, and size. They have 25% off sales of items of a certain color which help combat some of the high prices. They have a great show selection and I have copped some items for almost 75% retail prices. If you take a visit, make sure you go down to their less expensive sister store called Etc., (i think) where everything has been all the way marked down and still has the 25% off ticket sales. read more

This store is awesome! Bargain shoppers don't be turned off by the high priced items in the front room. Head to the middle and back rooms where there are more clothes. Everything is organized by size and then by color. I found a ton of items and was happy to see a large selection for plus size women. They will take your items to the fitting room where they will be waiting for you once you're done looking. Then they have roomy fitting rooms with a couch for friends and family members to sit and give you their opinions. It's no wonder why this store was called the best consignment store in the area. I found five tops in my size and paid less than $85 for all of them. read more

Although I did not purchase anything I was very impressed with the store. The layout and orderliness is fabulous. Plenty of room to move around and shop. I like the purse location and set up as well as the back shoe room. Staff was really friendly, I really enjoyed the conversation with the lady about my vintage sunglasses. She also owns a pair of Ted Lapidus sunglasses from the 1970's and I hope if she ever chooses to sell them she will contact me. . When I return to Dallas I will return here. read more

If I could give this store 3 1/2 stars, I would have. I thought their pricing was hit and miss on the clothing and handbags. Also, the sales associate that followed me around watching me made me uncomfortable. I know that sounds paranoid, but when I went to the back room, cocktail dress section, she was right with me and just stood there watching me and didn't quit watching me until I went to try on a few really good items. She made me feel like a thief. I don't like that at all. I was dressed nicely in designer clothes just coming from a church meeting for my daughters up coming wedding. Now, the dressing rooms are really nice and large so there is no waiting for a room, which is really nice, and they have a dressing room attendant. I did purchase a pair of shoes, and pants that were priced right. The handbag I liked was too expensive though (over priced). They do carry middle of the road items too, but watch the prices on those items. An example; I found a pair of shoes I had just tried on at the department store and they were only $5.00 less than the department store and used. Not a bargain. All of that said, they are very clean, organized, and located in a nice shopping center with plenty of parking, and you can still get some really good bargains. I was happy to leave though, which is unfortunate. I will go back and give them a second chance soon and let you all know how that went. If you are looking for SUPER expensive items, one of kind fashion accessories, clothing, and shoes, handbags, jewelry, everything you can imagine - this is the place to find it. I purchased a one of a kind runway Gucci purse, manolo blahniks (3 pairs!), and saved so much money and now I look like a million bucks but did not spend a million bucks. The communication from their consignment staff is horrible. If they choose not to sell your items, they are donated; no phone call, no chance to pick them up. It is not written in their "contract" that they will not contact you (by phone, e-mail, etc) but they will tell you when you question them, "they don't have time to contact every one of their consignors." Not an ethical way to do business as it does not take more than two minutes to send an automatic e-mail to ask the consignor to come pick the item(s) up within a certain period of time. They rely on people to consign for their business model, and hence, consignors should be their first priority. I would not recommend consigning to CA as there are many other consignment stores in the DFW area that will take the time to call you, and will take the time to value you as a consignor. read more

I wish I had more money to spend because this really is a great consignment shop. The women who work here are very friendly and helpful even if you're just looking. They have different color tags and those go on discount at different times, not sure what their method is yet but I'll be keeping an eye out for hidden specials! I'll be going back soon to see what the next tag special is. Almost all designer name brand, some stuff I was wondering why they had in there but I guess they had to fill the store. Everything is organized so it's super easy to find your regular size and designer size, let's face it they're not the same! Haha. I recently moved back to Dallas after living in southern California for two years. One of the things I missed about Big-D was Clotheshorse Anonymous! I've consigned and shopped at this store for 15+ years beginning in the 90's when I moved to Texas for the first time. The sales team is helpful, knowledgeable, and knows their merchandise. I get terrific bargains here, and having worked at the number one high-end retailer in Dallas earlier in my career, I know good merchandise when I see it. Great selection from Chanel to Eileen Fisher. Designer jeans, excellent shoes, and designer bags lined up on racks as far as the eye can see! The environment is open, clean. Easy to shop. The pieces are organized perfectly by size and also separated within size by "designer". Helpful if you're looking for something special. Shopability - 10/10 Selection - 9/10 Discounts - 8/10 (once a month a certain color ticket is 25% off) Quality of merchandise - 9/10 Variety - 9/10 Staff - 9/10 (some staff is much friendlier than others. Yes, they have a big inventory of designer clothes + bags + shoes to paw through. No, they don't have much for small sizes. Most of the time, the smallest size starts at a size 2 or small; difficult to find size 0 or xs. I only bought a scarf and a skirt, but I enjoyed looking at all the stuff; it's a good place to kill time if you like thrift stores. read more

I've been shopping and consigning for about 25 years (before consignment and resale was "cool") and this store is about as good as it gets! I've found so many incredible things here and have also consigned many of my own gently owned high end designer pieces as well. It's like a completely new store every time I'm there and everyone who works there is enthusiastic, helpful and most importantly, honest. I know that I'll never purchase and leave there with something that isn't flattering on me because if you ask their opinion about how something looks on you, you know they're telling you the truth, whether it's good or "that piece doesn't do justice to you." I think that's so much better than so many places who will tell you what you want to hear or tell you that it's perfect on you just to make a sale. My most incredible deal to date is a kelly green Lanvin brand new dress with tags attached that was $1,595 at Bergdorf Goodman and I paid $117 for it at Clotheshorse. It still remains one of my favorite dresses I own and I've lost count of how many compliments I've gotten. I attend many functions and social events so it's critical that I have quite a few amazing things to choose from. Honestly, I've purchased $28 dresses there and worn them to parties where I know many of the other women's dresses cost 10 to 20 times what I paid for mine and I'm great with that. I have been a customer for years, and never disappointed by the vast selection of quality clothing here. Every visit yields treasured finds- from higher-end designer clothing (usually showcased in the front of the store) to more affordable fashionable items found in the sale room. I scored mint condition Gucci patent leather emerald heels for a steal. Many of the pieces have never been worn, and that includes an impressive shoe and handbag selection. The clerks are lovely too, and offer friendly reminders over the intercom of tag sales, etc. I recommend this store for the serious Clotheshorse. read more

I have sold clothes here many times and each time they have a different reason for accepting or declining items. They have no procedure or policy. For the items they decline (which are in mint condition, etc), I will go into the store and find they are selling the same brand names which does not make sense. I have had expensive brand names turned down to go inside the store and find them selling low-end brand names - DOES NOT make sense! Not a big fan. read more

I am a huge fan on consignment shopping, and Clotheshorse Anonymous just feeds right into my addiction. They sell higher end clothing which is exactly what I look for. The prices aren't always going to be a steal, but every time I go, I always end up leaving with something at least. The best part is that they had certain color tags that are additional 25%, so you can really get some good deals! What I really like about Clotheshorse Anonymous is how organized it is. Every other consignment store I go to, I feel like I'm walking into a Forever 21 and feel so overwhelmed that I just end up giving up and leaving. Here, everything is spaced out nicely so you have a lot of room to shop. It is awkward shopping sometimes because their employees literally stare at you while you shop, I guess to make sure you're not shoplifting or anything. Love this time of the year at this place!! Semi annual sale,!! great sale started today just went there and got a few things at good prices!! I went to the store very hesitantly due to some negative reviews. My first surprise came when I was greeted by a lovely friendly staff just as soon as I walked in. I was shocked as I had read that the staff was not friendly. I was even more surprised as I was greeted by another and yet another staff throughout my shopping duration. I was there early August of this year and had wanted to write a review much sooner but could not due to travels. I have only written 2 or 3 reviews in my lifetime but had to write about Clotheshore as I found it so unfair that some people had written such negative reviews. I almost did not go there becaue of it and so glad I did. BTW, everyone in there is so classy and elegant especially the lovely lady who was in the back in the shoe department. It is true, however, that it is a shopper's paradise if u hv time and inclination to scan every single item. For me, bargains need to be a lot more obvious than they r @ this place. As good as they come! I always seek out good resale clothing stores and this one is not only the best in DFW, but the best one in the 3 different states I've lived in. When ever I come to Dallas I plan a special trip to this store for high end in style cocktail dresses, shoes, jewelry, handbags, jeans, work clothes, etc. some of my nicest stuff is from here bc I couldn't afford the items otherwise. Some things are brand new, others are just gently used. They only accept high quality items, so I know what to expect from clothes horse. I have been shopping designer retail for years, until this last week I discovered Clotheshorse! Their handbag selection is extraordinary and their clothing selection just magnificent! The ladies on the sales floor were quite helpful. The lady at the jewelry counter was polite and knew her stuff. They informed me that there were fashion experts to explain to me what is being accepted for consignment. To my surprise he was young and knowledgeable on designers and I thought I was a fashion expert, what a fashion guru. They seem to keep their consignor drop off separate from their store. I'm guessing that's where the "anonymous" part of their name comes in. Prices can range from incredibly affordable dolce and Gabbana top new with tag for $50 to couture Valentino for $3,000 and everything in between. I will never consign here again after today's experience! The woman who helped me was very nice, looked at each piece I brought in, including 3 pairs of shoes (2 of which had only been worn once!) She accepted them all, but didn't have time to put me in the system, unfortunately. So, JERK MAN (with glasses, so that you can identify him), swoops in, she asks him to help her package my things up, since she's on to the next customer and he barely glances at my items, and rejects them all! Excuse me?? She had already accepted them!!! She was only asking him to finish up what she had already given the green light to!! I felt so dismissed!! And what about nice lady?? Does he always have veto power over what she decides?? I am so angry at that jerk, but even more so at myself, for not standing up for myself and for her! Instead, I just walked out, fuming!! If that's what they consider good customer service, then they need to go back to class! read more
