I had a 10am updo appointment scheduled for Friday, January 2nd for a wedding I was attending while visiting from out of town. I received an automated confirmation text two days prior, so I had no reason to believe there was an issue. When I arrived for my appointment, I found the salon permanently closed and the door locked. After some digging, I saw a Facebook post stating the business had closed, but relying solely on a Facebook post is not sufficient when the booking system is still active and sending confirmation texts. As an out-of-town client, there was no way for me to know my appointment was no longer valid. No call, no text, no cancellation notice. This was not a casual appointment -- it was for a wedding -- and the lack of communication forced me to scramble at the last minute. If a business is closing, booked clients should be proactively notified and all booking systems disabled. This situation could have been avoided with basic communication. Thankfully, I was able to find another salon last minute -- Primp and Blow Chandler -- who completely saved the day. The owner was condescending, lecturing me on lighting differences rather than offering solutions or attempting to understand my concerns. Leah got me back to good form and is such a cheerful and kind beautician. Have visited Lauren a few times to recolor and then touch up my gray roots. I reached out to Cloud 9 to request a super last minute appointment for a color correction from a service I had gotten from a different salon the week before. The front desk got back to me via text super quick, asked for photos of my current hair and what I was looking for. Thankfully they had availability for me next day. I booked my appointment with Heather and she is my go-to girl from now on! As soon as I sat in her chair I knew I was in good hands. The salon itself is relaxing, they were playing nice music, and Heathers chair is right next to the waterfall which was lovely. I told Heather my situation, what I was unhappy with about my last service, and she knew exactly what to do. We ended up doing a shadow root and toner, and she also cleaned up my cut to give my hair the movement it needed. She brought to life the vision I had and I can't wait to come back. On top of all those positives, I paid literally less than a quarter of the price for the high quality professional service here than I did at my previous salon ($350 for a "balayage" and cut that turned out as brass highlights up to my roots and a bad cut vs $60 for the amazing work done by Heather here at Cloud 9). Mia is incredible!!! So glad I started going to her! I had 6 years of black box dye in my hair (I was turned away from several stylists because black dye is nearly impossible to lighten) and she was able to remove it and bring me back to brunette in the same day! She not only was able to lighten my hair but did it in a way that was realistic and kept my hair healthy! I love how she sets realistic expectations and prioritizes my hair healthy while giving me incredible results! I was in recently to get a haircut with Veronica and was very disappointed. We chatted for 10 minutes and I was very specific about what I wanted and did NOT want. The terms I used were " do NOT cut my hair in a "mushroom or stacked." I want minimal layering. I got everything I said I didn't want and had to go back to another stylist to attempt to get it fixed. I really wanted to love my pregnancy massage but it just didn't satisfy me. I told my massage therapist I was tired and could nap, which is common during massages, let alone at 37 weeks pregnant. And he told me he'd be happy to leave and come back in an hour as long as he got paid. And proceeded to tell me he'd had a client do just that a few weeks ago. I'm sorry, I'm not paying you $80 to leave me alone. I'm here for more than that. So it just didn't start off great. Then he continued to talk the whole time. He brought up some inappropriate things. Even mentioned politics and genders in sports. Just conversations and topics I really didn't feel were necessary. He'd speak and use his hands to talk and my eyes were closed and the room was dark so no need to take your hands off, I can't see them anyways. I'd miss out on my massage time. I had a brief break from a busy work day to finally get my hair cut after almost a year. All I wanted was a relaxing appointment and to walk out ready for a Friday night and it was the exact opposite. I told my stylist I wanted a trim with lots of layers, volume and shape. It proceeded with what felt like the longest interview ever or 100 questions from my stylist. I just wanted to relax and get my hair done, not talk about my kid or sad single life. I even went as far as pretending to sleep but the questions just kept coming. Towards the end I kept trying to tell her how I wanted my cut but everything I asked for was followed up with an excuse why I can't have it. I said the back was really heavy I wanted more layers and she said no then I can't keep my length. I said I wanted my bangs wispy and layered and she said no then she can't blend it in. I said I wanted a round brush blow out type style and she kept saying multiple times she wanted to do beach waves to show me the dimension so I ended up just getting up and finishing my hair at home. It was not pleasant and there was a stylist behind my chair listening to all of this and I really wish she would have stepped in. read more
