Since I'm new to the area, I used Yelp to find the best place within a reasonable distance-- Cloud Nine. Even though the initial stylist I booked wasn't available, I was promptly rebooked with another stellar hair professional, Ali. She gave me a gorgeous highlight refresh, toner, trim, and style. I left with buttery soft hair that looked delish. The conversation flowed and the time passed quickly as she did her magic. Ali is kind, knowledgeable, experienced, and talented. Started out so strong... I was offered water and chocolate and was prepared for my services by the nicest lady ever.... then the services started. My facial was mediocre at best, I asked for a lymphatic massage but didn't notice if I got one! On to the 90 minute massage with added foot massage. AWFUL- it was a male therapist, which is no problem, but he talked way too much and tried to be funny but it came off as awkward and icky. His technique was truly horrible - not sure he is actually trained. It was stop-start, bumbling, and entirely unskilled. I was so hoping to find a new spa in Tempe as I travel here from out-of-town often - it will not be this spa, that's for sure! i might as well have let $300 on fire. read more

I haven't had a massage in years and it's never been a favorite activity (mostly just chair massages and 30 minute back massages at scrapbooking retreats), and I really thought 1 hour was going to be too long. I didn't have any great expectations as my thinning hair was both very fine and very damaged. Less than 90 minutes later, Jaki had transformed my hair into utter perfection. She customized the color formula I had provided from a previous stylist, delivering a cool, Beverly Hills blonde I had thought was reserved for celebrities and supermodels.
