Super cute tucked in the wall brewery. We came on a Saturday afternoon and the wait was about an hour. We put our name on the list and walked around the area until the time to arrive. This place doesn't have AC, just fans on the wall. Super cozy space with friendly staff and mild mannered crowd. We tried all the IPAs they offered and they were quite good! The only thing is they don't offer tasters so if you are getting a beer I believe you have to get a full size. Definitely recommend stopping in here for a break of walking the area! read more

Good brews located in a basement like space. The place is big but it gets packed. We came upon Cloudburst from a dankness beer festival held by Modern Times and decided to come when in Seattle. There were 3 employees, long slow lines with really one pouring and a lot of glasses everywhere (I mean like seriously piles and piles). I really looked forward to visiting Cloudburst as I've enjoyed their beers when I lived on the West Coast...as well as buying 4 packs of their beer to go! Upon arriving, I asked the beertender if I could please taste a "small splash" of an IPA to make sure I'd want to buy a full pour since I've had long covid (taste distortion) due to covid. I was told "No we don't do that here" per the owner. Don't do that here?? Hmmm... I've yet to visit a brewery in Seattle , or anywhere in California or Tennessee that won't allow a paying customer to taste a beer or two to choose between. Coming from the industry I find this very odd and disappointing, considering I flew from Nashville, walked a mile to come visit and support a brewery that I have always loved. It's honestly not a good look to not take care of your customers who come to support and who have also promoted you to many coworkers over the past 4 years. The one downtown has later hours and so since it's a smaller place they suggested to us to make online reservations , we got there at 5pm and was told we had a 1hr and 15min to be there if it gets too busy . It was no big deal since it was just me and my husband but if you have a big group just keep that in mind . Love this Cloudburst Brewery along western avenue just north of Pike Place Market in Seattle. Beautiful setting, adapted well to the pandering with all precautions. Really really small. We came at a non-busy time and still had trouble finding two seats. We didn't have any problems with rude bartenders as other reviews stated, but they just don't seem customer service oriented. Okay fine. Not necessarily looking for amazing service, just some tasty beer. The beers were very underwhelming. After brewery hopping all over Seattle, they just didn't hold up. I found the red IPA to be undrinkable but the dry hopped pils was better. I would not return, personally. There are so many other places to visit with a better product all around. read more

Interesting ambience. I liked the music...but I did not like that people can bring their dogs in there. This may be a bonus for some, but it is kind of a small establishment and dogs take up space and are sometimes not friendly with eachother. They require you to wear a mask--which seems rather pointless considering you take it off to enjoy your beverage. It is a card only establishment as well. Visited last Friday for first time. No tastings, which is unlike any other brewery I've visited. Wasn't accepting cash either. Cloudburst is definitely overrated. Very disappointing given its auspicious roots. Came here right after opening on a Friday and was surprised to see a line of 15 people; a clear sign of very slow service. Waited 10 minutes with no progress and then left without getting ; really felt like they didn't care if they sold beer or not. When I came here the first time right after Cloudburst first opened their doors, the place seemed more like an Amazon happy hour location than a brewery; perhaps Cloudburst still hasn't figured out what it wants to be when it grows up. You're better off heading to Holy Mountain, Reuben's, or Fremont Brewing for your beer. Also when you leave negative reviews, rather than apologizing for the poor customer experience or even just ignoring you, Cloudburst responds in a snarky way. It's alright. Had the "Slap Bag" IPA, but all I could really taste was the hops in the beer, not extremely interesting. My friend got the "nelsonnugz.com," but I didn't taste his. Space was a bit tight (probably due to the sunny weekend weather). The space itself is cramped and not very relaxing as you'll find yourself bumping and running into people who are queuing, moving back and forth, etc. Only one cashier and maybe a couple of people serving, so the line blows up fast. Difficult to find seating on nice days too. Music is a tad bit too loud and obnoxious for my taste, but some folks might like louder music, so ehhhhhhhh. EDIT: I stand corrected. Came here randomly after exploring pikes market. We were walking around and saw the sign and decided we had to check it out. Walked in and it's definitely industrial but cool. Exposed brick work and you can see the equipment for making the beer. Which is really cool because it gives you a view of what the brewers have to do to create the beer you are about to indulge on. Go up to the counter to look at all the beers and the names for them are awesome. Very inventive and fun. They range from "that's baseball baby to never heard of it to menehune" I decided to try the menehune which has flavors of passion fruit and guava. It was delicious. Nice and refreshing and perfect for summer. My friend tried the that's baseball baby which is an ipa. I am not a fan of them but it was good. My friend really liked it and said it was well balanced and a great ipa. This little random spot was and awesome find and an awesome little gem hidden away. read more

Now, before you go saying that I was just a tourist, and so caught up with doing touristy stuffs that I would make that statement, you should know that I not only drink lots of beer, from everywhere I travel, I also brew it, and have won a few home brewing competitions in my time. So yeah, I think I know what I'm talking about. I'm not bragging, just providing context. Anyway, this is a great brewery. Not only is the atmosphere pretty cool, the service is great and there is a wide selection of beers on tap. I tired five beers when I visited, and they were all, equally good in their own right (cuz' they were all different styles). Really a nice, fresh and new brewery in Belltown! When we went here the place was slammed and there was no place to sit. It is either because this place is new OR it's just that good! Despite a line for the counter we were waited on quickly! I had a Spiced Wheat beer here which was fantastic and Steve had a Raspberry Saison which also was marvelous! I did some poking around on Cloudburst's website and found that they do not shy away from more experimental flavors of beer both currently on tap and what they have planned in the future. There was a lot of buzz surrounding this brewery. Mostly because it's founder was one of the former brewmasters for Elysian. It's located in Belltown, away from the usual brewery locations of SODO and Ballard, and conveniently near Pike Place, where one of the taps (Market Saison) features local ingredients from the famous market. Dogs are allowed, but kids are not. The size the space is (to me) just right, you can sit by the bar and watch the ladies pour taps, or in the surrounding tables. Also noted, along the taps is the telephone that pours a special tap, kind of cool, huh? They have an interesting taplist, usually around 10+ taps are featured. Their focus is all over the board: IPAs, Stouts, Pale Ales. If you're looking for a lighter beer, you may be hard pressed to find one here. Cloudburst has a variety of taps, all of which have very bold flavors with very bold names, too. My current favorite is a triple IPA called Psycho Hose Beast, yes, queue Mike Myers in Wayne's World. Another notable beer is the Darkenfloxx, an imperial stout featuring coffee and hazelnut. It was the flavor of iced coffee with a hint of hazelnut, this takes me back to having an iced coffee in a tropical place. If you check out their website, they will also feature future brews, some of which include collaborations with other local breweries (like Stoup and Bale Breaker). Currently, they only feature a small selection of pre-filled growlers and they do not offer growler fills. read more

Great beer and space in Belltown! If you're looking for fresh, hoppy hazy beers, you will surely find some here. My partner and I were visiting Seattle and saw Cloudburst on many a menu at quality craft beer bars. When we checked out Cloudburst in person, we weren't disappointed with the IPAs we ordered. Nice new brewery near Pike Place. The location is great and perfect for picking up something at the market to bring with you. The space is really nice with exposed beams with an urban decor which definitely fits the area. The beer here was pretty good. I had the Market Fresh Saison with cranberries and sage. I really liked this beer, it was very fresh tasting and the flavors were excellent. It looks like they'll have different experimental type flavors which will add variety to the brewery scene. I don't get the love being heaped on this place. We did a bit of Google searching while in Seattle, hoping to find some stellar local breweries to hole up in for the weekend. Cloudburst was high on the list. We stopped in late on our first night. The joint was packed, with nary a table to sit your weary bones. We got in line, placed our order (Ghost of the Great Owl for me, Good For You for the hubs), closed out our tab (they were only open for another 30 minutes at that point) and headed towards the front in the hopes we could find somewhere to post up while we drank our beer. I need to start tempering my expectations for pumpkin-flavored beers. Or, for beers claiming to be pumpkin-flavored. This one had all the scents down - the spices of clove and nutmeg and allspice, which instantly conjure up an image of pumpkin pie - but the flavor was lacking. Not to say that the flavor was terrible - it definitely was not the worst beer I sampled in Seattle that weekend - but it didn't hit the notes I wanted it to. Meanwhile, my husband wasn't loving his Irish Stout. It took him a lot longer to finish the beer than it should have, and I think he was silently convincing himself not to leave an unfinished beer on the counter. The vibe of the place was fun - lots of friends hanging out and chatting. I liked that a lot, and the feel of the old building itself, but couldn't get past the lackluster beer. I wandered into Cloudburst Brewing after a trip to Pike Place Market. The interior looks like an old converted warehouse. It has exposed beams, caked with decades of peeling paint, a bare concrete floor, and brewing equipment surrounding the seating area. The bar is tucked in the back and has an inconslicuous row of tap handles peeking out of a side wall. The beer menu is written on large rolls of brown paper hanging behind the bar. This place has man-cave written all over it. The bartender was nice and gave me two generous samples before I settled on a beer. The first sample I tried was an IPA. It was a little hazy looking but didn't make my face pucker on first sip. It was surprisingly drinkable and refreshing. My second sample was a really well-balanced stout. Some stouts are so heavy that I have to stop after one pint. This one wasn't! It had the right amount of smokeyness and wasn't gummed up with peanut butter, or grahm cracker flavors. It's one of the better stouts I've had in a while. It doesn't offer overstuffed leather chairs, brushed aluminum hand railings, or a fancy French menu. They don't have to... The beer speaks for itself. read more
