Healthy, tasty, inventive vegetarian food at a fast food place! Seriously super good! This location is in a strip mall with easy parking in Burlington close to the mall. I like the open kitchen concept where you can see the all the fresh ingredients being used. We tried a few things on the menu, The Buffalo (sandwich), The Bridgewater (sandwich) and rosemary fries. All came out fresh and hot. All were delicious but my favorite was The Bridgewater. The creamy sauce with the lightly fried crimini mushrooms and fresh Kale.. so yum!! I've never had a combination like this and it was absolutely divine. I also liked the fries, they were lightly fried and didn't feel very oily. They reminded me of In N Out fries which I love. I'm not a native east coaster but I have been out here a long time now, so when my wife suggested during my current vegetarian kick now to try Clover I was surprised I hadn't heard of them before. We stopped by yesterday for dinner and had some lovely "Nashville Hot" Mushroom sliders which did indeed were pretty hot. Really delicious food, some of the best pita bread I've had. I think Clover is the first place I've been where they are happy to 100% document their process for making their pita on the wall as well as documenting their story over the past 10+ years as well. The Burlington space itself is I guess kind of "understated" no thrills or fancy dining, but I appreciated that basically everything was compostable, and appreciated the staff being friendly and engaging with it being my first time there and trying to figure out what to get. read more

Been to the Cambridge and Boston locations several times and am always amazed by the quality of food at Clover. Tried their blueberry muffin for the first time and they served it warm! It was delicious with a hint of ginger and I would love to get my hands on their recipe to recreate at home - it was that good! Ordered the egg and eggplant platter - one of my go to favorites. It is very filling and I had to save half for tomorrows lunch. Service at all locations is always quick and friendly. Orders need to be placed and paid for online, they are still following strict social distancing protocols (yay!). read more

If you told this North End guy that one day I'd be writing a review about impossible meatball sub from anywhere I'd say you were completely crazy yet here I am. I never thought in a million years I'd say this but the impossible meatball at Clover is unbelievable. From the sauce, the provolone and the impossible meatballs....I was left speechless. No way were these not real meatballs....and the sauce was pretty good too. If anything you need to come to Clover just for this, I'll be back to try other items but for now I'm just happy I found this great item. And great employees at this location very helpful. read more

A Regrettable choice. I have gotten food from Clover in the past, but my experience this time was awful. I was at the Clover Burlington MA location on New Years Eve Day at about 1:30 PM. I ordered a Mezze platter, a Carrot platter, Coffee with lots of room for milk, and 2 cookies. I ordered in person with a Clover employee who I asked lots of questions before ordering. I paid for the order and included a 15% tip. Then the problems began. First I was told they were out of the Carrot platter, that I had already paid for. This was confusing because all the employees were within 15 feet of each other, so the person taking my order should have known this or could have asked. I was told that the item I ordered was credited to my card. Second, when I checked, my credit card was credited for the amount of the item and the tax, but there was no adjustment to the tip. WTF? So Clover kept the full tip. Third, while the coffee was brewing, I noticed a sign that there was no dairy products for coffee, only oat milk. I hate oat milk. When I said "with lots of room for milk" I would expect the person taking the order to tell me they only had oat milk. I mean Clover is known for their great coffees. I would not go into a coffee shop and not expect the usual add-ins (milk, cream, and maybe other so-called milks) to be available. I took the coffee and used the oat milk. I should have refused it, but that is on me. Like I said in my first statement, a regrettable choice. It is a choice that I will not make again. read more

Came here for the first time for lunch on a weekend. Ordered their Japanese sweet potato sandwich and their falafel skewer side dish. Total came out to around $16 (without tip). What's Hot: - Menu variety. Vegan friendly, FTW! It appears that many menu items are staples, but there are seasonal items, too. They have Japanese sweet potato, which is not easy to find. Now is the brussel sprouts season, which is cool. - Eco friendly. From what I saw, everything is eco friendly. Their dishes that the food is served are paper products. Utensils looked like they are made of recycled plastic. Paper takeaway bags. They have water, at the front, so you can bring your own water bottles and refill them. And their staff encourage you to use it. Customer friendly, which is great. - Service. Friendly and helpful. I didn't order a drink. When they took my order and asked if I wanted a drink, I responded that I brought my own water. The staffer told me I could refill my bottle with their water whenever I needed to. Not a common response I've heard at other restaurants, which is awesome. It's self-serve and there's no table service, but whenever you need something or have questions, they help and are super nice, as well. Definitely a win. - Quality. Delish. The Japanese sweet potato was soft, mushy, and slightly sweet. It didn't taste overly seasonal or overly sweetened, which was great. Sweet potatoes are sweet enough and there shouldn't be a need to always add extra sugar and ruin the flavor. Their falafel skewers came with some slices of pickles, which weren't too sweet or sour, which I liked. Their veggies are pickled, but not briney. They have an open kitchen, so you can see the staff preparing the food, which is reassuring, as well. - Health and safety. During this time of the pandemic, all their staff were wearing masks. I appreciate this act of reassurance, especially because I've been to some restaurants where staff don't wear masks and it's uncertain what, if any measures, they are taking. I also saw a sign on their door asking customers to wear masks. - Portions. Not bad. A decent size, but be prepared that it's not going to be enough to get you full if you're hungry. What's Not: - Menu variety. Although I like their menu, it's disappointing when some items aren't available, because it's seasonal. For example, I saw oyster mushrooms in the Yelp pictures, but not on their menu. Bummer, because I like oyster mushrooms. My friend said they have a delish peach soda, which they don't always have. Again, the uncertainty of some menu items kinda sucks. First-world problems, right? - Price. Can be kind of pricey, especially if you order more than one dish, which you will if you're hungry. I only ordered 2 dishes and the total came out to $16, which didn't get me full. On the one hand, I was able to get a meal for under $20. On the other hand, be prepared that your tab can add up quickly when you order more than 1 dish. - Layout. I don't like their stools. Anytime you remotely move their stools, it always makes a loud scraping sound on the floor. It's so loud that it almost hurt my ears. Always interrupts conversations and that it happens on a regular basis because people naturally and predictably move their chairs, is super annoying. Perfect spot for lunch. Plates aren't too heavy, the service is efficient and quick, and the prices won't break the bank. I think it rotates items on the menu, but the staff will quite literally pull up an item on the big screen that you're interested in to see more about it. First time I've ever experienced that. I had the chickpea fritter sandwich and the hummus. Both were excellent. The sandwich had a memorable savory flavor and zesty sauces and toppings were great to go along with the fritters. Clover used to be epic. Now it's a bit sad. The store is grim, staff looked dirty and food was mediocre.

I stumbled upon this place when looking for breakfast after a walk and went in hoping to try the apple compote oatmeal. It was actually crossed out on the menu when I walked in, but the staff assured me it was almost ready and I went ahead and ordered. As I was waiting, the staff began chatting with me and, after realizing this was my first visit, gave me a free popover and a tip to try the brussel sprout sandwich special that would be out in a couple days. Everything tasted so fresh and the popover was a yummy complement to the oatmeal. I was super happy with the service and food and did end up returning for the brussel sprout sandwich a few days later, which was outstanding as well. Clover is unique. Its right across from the Burlington Mall and it puts a different spin on some classic eats. Parking in the plaza is a bit snug, but the 30 foot walk from/to all of the open spaces adds to the cleansing feeling of well being that this gem provides. Do Not visit without trying the rosemary fries (well done, light salt). So good! The breakfast fritter is great but is not available on weekends. Huh?? I haven't had anything bad there. I was a bit disappointed by the large amount of refrigerated "premades" , but they are tasty and I've been there 20 times so the place cant be too bad! They have a falafel salad which is fresh and delicious. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, clean and bright place. Don't miss it. read more

Been obsessed with this franchise ever since I started coming here on my lunch break at the Kendall Square location. Their model is on point -- friendliness, personal touches, and quality food. Corn chowder and Roman tomato soup is decent- the $8.50 bowl is larger than the $4 add-on cup. French fries are good when freshly made hot. I love this spot - the employees are friendly, the food is great, and I've never had anything except a great experiences. I always orders the fries, because they're delicious. Then I mix up whatever else I get for my order. For you meatitarians, I highly recommend the meatballs or the meatball sandwich. Is it actual meat? No. Can you tell the difference? Also no. I brought a coworker here who is ANTI vegetable and she LOVED the meatball pita sandwich. So, just try it. I'm also a big fan of the falafel. I typically get the falafel plate with a warm pita. I also always always order their ginger soda. They make it fresh in store! Hello get in my belly. The only potential draw back is, it can get pricey if you're ordering a meal, a side of fries, and a soda (like I do). With places like b.good next door with more options , including meat , and a less assuming staff , it's hard to recommend this place anymore . They even recently had a required masking sign on the door but none of the employees were masked. If your'e a vegetarian and you want "healthy" then I guess this is the place for you to go eat. This restaurant didn't do it for me, but they have rave reviews for those who live that lifestyle. The prices here are a little bit on the high side for what you get, and to be honest there are a lot of better options elsewhere. Clover BUR purely caters to a specific type of people, but yeah. So what do you substitute when you don't use meat in your ingredients? Carbs. Yes, and lots of carbs. Veggies are also intertwined in the mix using mushrooms and other types of greens. However, carbs and starches are big because it fills you up and is supposed to be "healthy." The menu here changes a lot and I believe what I saw when I visited will be different if you want this place. However, when I came here I got the only thing that had the most amount of fat and was the closest thing I could have that followed my lifestyle. I got the impossible meatball sub. It's basically the meat that they used for the impossible burger but formed into meatballs and served in a sandwich with marinara sauce. It was alright, I've definitely had better and for what I paid for it I felt like I could've gotten a better deal. In my opinion, it's nothing to die for but I can see the appeal if you're a vegan or vegetarian because of the limited options for eating out. I'm biased, but I feel like the amount of food you get and what you pay for you could get wider options elsewhere. However, on the other side everything is fresh because it's all veggies and it's not really easy to store all of those things. I wish they had this restaurant chain in California! It would be so popular! It's one of those vegetarian restaurants that tastes better than places that have no food restrictions. So good for them for making healthy food taste amazing! We arrived about 30 minutes to closing but that was only because our movie ended late and we were starving! However the staff was still very friendly and didn't rush us at all. They even took the time to explain the menu to us. We had only been to this chain once before for lunch and ordered a pita sandwich but we wanted something a little bigger for dinner. We decided to order 2 plates which each came with a bunch of delicious sounding sides. One was a tabouli like salad and the other was some really good grilled carrots. The main course was their falafel and it was very tasty. It was crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside, which is how it is supposed to be so we were happy! Just like the other location, this chain offered free carbonated water so I was all over that. If we ever travel back to the east coast we will definitely be stopping by this restaurant! read more

O! M! G! I can't believe I made it here!! Finally Clover I came, I saw, I devoured! Rob greeted me with a wave and a smile and I felt welcome right away. He recommended the falafel sandwich to me which I kindly accepted as all the ingredients he mentioned sounded wonderful and healthy. I got thyme fries and some of their signature lemonade. They yell your name out when your order is ready and I love it. The look on people's faces when their names are called it's like they won Bingo or something. My order didn't take long at all and I took a seat at the bar. WOW WOW WOW the first bite just wow. A burst of flavors and textures extremely pleasing to my tastebuds. The crunchiness of the falafel and cucumbers and the slaw mixed with the creamy texture of the hummus was just perfect. I think I shed a tear for all the other restaurants that are now dead to me, the food is just so good here!! Everyone at the bar ate in silence because you can't talk when food is this good. As each bite passed I felt a sense of relief, as I felt satisfied in the moment, and I knew I was going to be satisfied at the end. They have fresh squeezed OJ!!!!! Yes yes yes I would come here just for that. The restaurant has an entirely open kitchen concept. There are 6 side tables lining the walls of the dining room and two large tables at the center, if you're a party of one like myself you can take a seat at the bar as there is ample seating and dining space. Overall the entire place was clean and everyone working here was attentive and friendly. I'm definitely coming back and I'm most certainly going to bring all of my friends. This was our first visit to the Clover BUR location, which we made after they reopened from their corporate-wide shutdown. We have previously been to the HSQ location numerous times. Michael (Store Manager) was super nice, and we delighted ourselves to a dinner of eggplant (no egg), chickpea fritter, Soy BLT, and some in-house made and yummy blueberry soda and blueberry lemonade. The food was quite delicious that we not only went back immediately after for another couple of sandwiches, but we then proceeded to head back in after finishing those for another. read more

I visit many of their locations during my travels for work and Burlington Team continues to be my favorite. Unassuming place from the outside, they could really use some curb-appeal. I'm a fan of farm-to-table, locally sourced food, etc. (which is what they're going for). They advertise as fast food, and it's a casual dining area. They have team members that greet you in the lobby and help you place your order, which was a bit odd, but the entire staff was A+ friendly. I asked for recommendations, and eventually landed on the egg & eggplant platter. The platter came with Hummus W/ Olive Oil and Zaatar Cucumber, Vidalia Onion, Dill Salad and I believe Beluga Lentil Salad At $10, I would have liked a bit more egg & eggplant. They could've sliced the eggplant a little thinner and given an extra slice, and eggs are cheap, so a second one would have been nice (I left hungry). read more

We have been to the Burlington and Somerville locations three times now. Staffers have greeted us quickly, been friendly and attentive and responsive to questions and requests, and served our food hot and quickly. The food has been tasty and served carefully. We like the three water taps (including seltzer) at the Burlington location; unfortunately Somerville lacks them. Two, maybe three issues, however. 1. Limp, oily fries. Each time the french fries have been limp and seemed oily. Twice we brought them home and put them in the air fryer for several minutes to crisp them a little and make them more palatable. Tip to management: check out Rami's, in Brookline; it's kosher, serves delicious falafel and other things, and their fries are crispy and not limp or oily. 2. Guilt tipping. We're "fed up" with the Square(?) credit card pads and terminals that try to guilt us into tipping when we're not in a sit-down restaurant with servers. When sandwiches cost $11-$15, and limp, oily fries cost over $6, and we're either carrying out or sitting at a table without someone serving us, asking if we want drink refills, dessert, etc., stop asking us to tip. 3. Mushy, squishy seitan? I tasted a sample of the seitan once; its BBQ sauce seemed OK, but the seitan was mushy and squishy -- a poor "mouth feel". Perhaps that was just the sample? UPDATE, 7/10/23: We had dinner at the Burlington location. Nick was there today, as well as another man; both were cordial, friendly, professional. I explained to Nick about the fries and seitan, as I mentioned in my first post. He made fries for us, and made sure that they were well drained after coming out of the fryer. That made a big difference; they were very good this time. He also made me a seitan sandwich, which was also very good, so it seems my previous sample of the seitan was the exception. I absolutely love this place and what this food company stands for. They have so much variety and unique offerings of sandwiches and platters. I want to try one of everything eventually. I have had the impossible meatball sandwich - I love everything about it except that it is pricey.
