Baller - it's not just what's inside that counts.
    Gary G.

Been meaning to try for ages, was driving and suddenly it was there. First visit was a hit; definitely not my last. The Baller: A thick, pillowy homemade English muffin with some char cooked in, clutching a fried egg perfectly balancing crisp and drippy, plenty of crisp and intensely flavored bacon, and aged cheddar. This is not diet food, but it's delicious (especially that extraordinary bacon), with well sourced ingredients. Per the menu: "acorn-fed Ibérico de Bellota bacon imported from Spain, Vital Farms pasture-raised fried egg and Vermont cheddar aged 24 months..." Superb. (And when I say intensely flavored bacon, I mean some of the best bacon I've ever had.) The Fancy: This was my wife's order, removing the bacon (I think a different kind) to keep it vegetarian, leaving her with fried eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, smashed avocado, red onions, and house mayo on toasted multigrain. She enjoyed it and said she'd definitely have it again. Coffee: Speedwell. Very good. Hash Brown: Very similar to McDonald's, but a little shorter, a little thicker, a little more moist inside, a little less crisp. Solid but not a must. Blueberry Muffin: Dense. Not the freshest. Would not get again. Environs: Five small tables and a few stools against the window. Service: Off the charts great. Megan was welcoming, exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu, and extremely helpful in helping guide us through the order. An excellent ambassador. So not everything was perfect, but so much was-- especially the important parts-- that they still get the 5.

I stopped by here with my mom who's been waiting for me to visit so we can go together. We went for brunch time and I got the breakfast burrito while she got the fancy sandwich, the 2 top menu items. I also had to try the maple cold brew which they have bottled for sale. It all was delicious and we both left stuffed. I live in SF where I can get amazing bfast burritos and this one is definitely comparable.

This new small place replaced some bakery that never seemed to be open when I came by , and it's a wonderful little sandwich and coffee shop for breakfast and lunch . They close at 2 pm which is the only bummer. I had one of their burritos which was delicious and a muffin , which was fine, but I'm not sure I'd get again. I have yet to try the cinnamon bun which looked good. I only wish they offered overnight oats as well. Downsides for me : - I discovered it appears to be a well financed franchise operation later rather than the original mom and pop shop (they also appear to own flour house ).. on reflection it feels a little too perfect/clean and standardized , and I should've seen it sooner. - some of their tiny boxed water and $4 coke can pricing is off putting and feels a bit gouging - at least in the early days here they're paying people for reviews , which is a disappointing thing to see, as it skews how honest the reviews are likely to be

So happy to see there's a new Mike & Pattys location in Lexington! The restaurant has super easy parking and seems like most people order takeout although there are some tables to eat inside. We ordered 2 iced coffee (one with vanilla, one with caramel) both were delicious! And the sandwiches are of course out of this world. The Carolina Caviar has a perfectly fried egg that wasn't too runny but wasn't too cooked, sausage, and THE BEST pimento cheese ever. It typically comes on an English muffin but I ordered it on sour dough. We also got the Fancy Sandeich which was also so good! Our order was quick, the kid working at the counter was so nice, and the store is super cute! Definitely alittle pricey for breakfast sandwiches but good option for when you're really craving a good one!

The customer service is super friendly, thank you for your services. They are two different coffees and I buy both because I can never decide between them; they are both super delicious.

I just moved to the area and Mike and Patty's is my new go to! We've tried just about everything on their menu, and they have something for everyone. My partner loves anything with their chorizo and I just love a classic egg and cheese. Their food comes out quick and hot! Sometimes I even just come by for a coffee, which is just as good as their food. I'm hoping to try their pastries soon too. Overall, very happy to have this establishment so close by and recommend it 100%!

Came to grab their amazing breakfast burritos. Was impressed by the portion size and freshness. Would also recommend their breakfast sandwiches. Location is small but def worth checking out. Hashbrowns are also a winner!

Love the crew at Mike & Pattys! Great service. Kind people. Delicious egg sandwiches. We just found this place on a whim - it was wonderful! Highly recommend.

Delicious, especially the English muffins and tortilla. The breakfast burrito was a generous portion. Friendly staff.

We walked into a comfortable space with a relaxed vibe that never feels generic, the kind of spot where you can settle in for a meal or grab something quickly without the atmosphere working against you. The Vietnamese bowl is the order that brings everything together well. We tried it and the flavors were bright and balanced, leaning into the fresh herb and citrus notes that make Vietnamese inspired food work when the kitchen takes it seriously. The bowl format here gives you enough going on across the components that each bite shifts slightly, which kept the meal interesting from start to finish in a way that a simpler dish would not. The broader menu is worth exploring beyond a single visit. The shakshuka and acai bowl are both good, the smash burger salad is a surprisingly strong order for anyone who wants something more indulgent, and the vegan options are extensive and genuinely well executed rather than feeling like an afterthought. The smoothies are popular for good reason and the coffee holds up as well. Pricing runs on the higher side and the menu does not always list prices upfront on site, which is worth being aware of before you commit to a larger order. Service is generally attentive and fast, though it can vary by location and shift.

I got inspired by watching youtube to make a jambon buerre sandwich - supposedly a popular quick sandwich for Parisians. The sandwich is half a baguette with butter and French bistro ham. I tried searching all over for the French bistro ham with no luck. The only options were online sources with expensive shipping and/or expensive minimum order sizes. Somehow I stumbled upon MA-France nearby in Arlington and they sell jambon-buerre sandwiches. It's a small shop that sells sandwiches, pastries, and a small offering of French food products. Lots of pastries and baked goods like quiche, tarts, cookies, croissants, etc. The cheese offerings were very limited and basic. I can imagine that the cheeses that they sell are the same types and brands that they use for making sandwiches. For example, they sell President brand Brie - that you can also buy at Costco and market basket. Disappointing, but understandable because they can't afford to buy more variety and more expensive offerings without a big enough client base to buy those cheeses before they go bad. Getting back to the sandwich - it was half a baguette with some thick slices of butter and two pieces of French bistro ham. The bread was kind of dense and the crust was more chewy than crispy. I was disappointed that they didn't bother to spread the butter, but if they're not selling enough sandwiches then they're probably keeping the butter in the refrigerator - making it too difficult to spread. When I got home I fixed up the sandwich to my liking. Overall, the sandwich was okay, but not good enough to make me want to go back. At least I was able to solve my hunger for the jambon buerre sandwich.

Now it's quite underwhelming. The apricot croissant is now some smaller glorified danish that has no richness or personality. The plain croissant is quite "bready" now, whereas it used to be light and buttery. I have a sneaking suspicion that they have a different croissant supplier now. What saved this spot from a lower grade is that the pain au raisin and chausson aux pommes are passable. Also a save is that they still offer various French products, from soaps to cheeses to canned goods. I have to find a new French bakery in the area.
