I *heart* Clover. I was on a quest for birthday gifts for 4 people (3 adults and one toddler) and it was perfect! I bought some lovely Ginger-scented soap and lotion for my sister-in-law, who likes almost nothing. I bought some tiny mushroom magnets for one friend, and a hiliarious hand-made felted crazy bizarre tape measure for the other friend. I didn't end up getting a gift for the toddler, although I easily could have in the kiddie room in the back, only because I ran out of time. They have a fabulous selection of gift items, and if you couldn't find something for everyone on your list, I would be very surprised. I didn't look at the clothing much--just wasn't shopping for it that day. I will definitely go back the next time I need some choice gifts! read more

Clover is a small, trendy boutique in the heart of Silver Lake. The store carries a variety of clothing, jewelry, soaps, candles, notebooks, cards, kitchen supplies, room decor, kids' toys, and cute little gifts for guys and gals alike. It's always fun to pop in and see what they've got, and I've stopped here many times to find that perfect little present. The staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing, they provide shopping baskets, and the store has a parking lot, which can be a welcome rarity in Los Angeles. Prices are a tad elevated here, but nothing out of the ordinary for the area. It's a super cute place and worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood. read more

Oh, Clover. How I do love thee? Let me count the ways: 1. You are in a neighborhood that I can handle driving to, parking in, and walking around on a Saturday (the one day I usually have free to shop). In stark contrast to, say, The Grove, you are not surrounded by dancing fountains, Lionel Richie music, or Wetzel's Pretzels. 2. You pack into one relatively small store all the things that someone with little time to shop needs to stay stylish. Namely: an impeccable selection of uber-expensive designer jeans, cute shirts and jackets that are genuinely unique, and a vast array of gift-like items (candles, books, perfumes) - most of which I buy with the intention of giving to someone else but then end up keeping. 3. You have cute stuff for little kids, and as everyone I know is pregnant with their first, second or third baby, this makes staying in their good graces that much easier. 4. One (made-up) word: Highlow. Translation: You satisfy my urge to buy quality expensive things and trendy cute things at vastly different price points while plugging only one meter. The only drawback I can think of: Sometimes the clothes-buying is hit or miss. That is because Clover actually turns over their inventory pretty often, and you can't win every time. read more

This store is super cute - great selection of candles, jewelry, and more. The people who work there have always seemed sweet, too. If you're looking for a nice gift (for someone else or if you're just wanting to treat yourself), I think this place is a good option. Cute stuff for kids (or babies, at least) as well. The only reason I give it four stars and not five is that some of their prices are a bit high, particularly on clothing. If I'm gonna spend an arm and a leg on a clothing item, I typically don't want to buy something that was made of in China (most likely in a sweat shop). Also, I saw the exact same plates they sell for $9 being sold for $7 at Le Pink, so the mark-up may be a bit high. Great store overall, though! read more

I live within walking distance and happened to stop in on a whim. Such a cute store! I want everything in there. All the items seem very intentionally curated and chosen with care. Displays are also attractive and well organized; they are able to fit in a lot of merchandise within a relatively small space without it looking cluttered. This is one of my favorite store in Los Angeles. Mostly because it has a selection of things from tea and candles to jeans and jewelry. It also sells some japanese dishes and inspired home decor. Really it's almost like a store of things you want at your house. I love their candles because it's hard for me to find GOOD candles. Most of the time i always find really smelly candles, but there they have to most wonderous scents! and their clothing! i love. and cute kid stuff. just lots of stuff to keep you looking. read more

Clover's tagline should be, "Terrible Customer Service You Can Rely On." I tried ordering some bookshelves through them, which they said they would happily do, then I never heard back from them. So I called to get the scoop. They said they were on it and would e-mail me with final pricing. Sounded great. Then nothing. I e-mailed them and asked what was going on. Nothing. I was ready to drop several hundred dollars in their laps, yet I was the one doing all the legwork. After 4 days of this I wised up and went somewhere else. I'm not sure where Clover's entitlement comes from, but good luck in the recession, gals. Management, hire savvier employees with more follow-up, they're literally costing you money. read more

Very cute stuff in this store, don't get me wrong. I ended up buying a few xmas gifts while stopping in - some housewares and bath products... But I was disappointed on behalf of a friend of mine, who was told by local Silverlake-ians that this was a great place to buy tea...WELL SURE, if your tea budget is in the $30+ range! Hello, people, not everyone in the world has a spare $30 to spend on loose teas from Palais de Te. I know where the Palais de Te is in Beverly Hills. In Beverly Hills they pay $30 for tea like it's nobody's business! They also spend $30 to park their cars, $30 for cupcakes, $30 on dressed up Chinese food served in an upscale environment. But this is Silverlake, my friends. Some of us work and slave away for $30. Of course, there are plenty of trusty fundy kids and well heeled professionals in this neck of the woods to keep Clover in happy business, which is perfectly fine. I prefer independent businesses to the drudgery of a national chain store, so I will continue to browse through Clover...although, I ain't buyin' no $27 Geisha cherry-scented whathaveyou, okay? read more

I've lived up the hill from this place for 3 years now and embarrassed to say I just stopped in for my first time this year while doing some holiday shopping. I'm so glad I did! They have so many great gift items. They have clothing, accessories, lotions, toys and several other unique things. I also found several things that I wanted to buy for myself. Since I was doing holiday shopping I held out, so I will for sure be back soon to make those purchases for myself! Get CL-OVER Yourselves I have to agree with Vince D. Worst customer service ever! My boyfriend and I were never helped, just stared at while we reviewed the candles and teas. Maybe the salesperson was shy. Nope, wasn't the case, she decided to assist other people in the store (only one other person in the store, the other customer was trying to get her money back) talking at length about the deals in the store and so forth, but we were never assisted. Only the cold greeting of the unfriendly glare. Perhaps, its because we were jogging from lunch at Coffee Table beforehand and we looked too casual. This is Silverlake. We jog. Jogging sometimes makes us look sweaty. Get over it. Finally, I went over and asked about the deals she was "explaining to the other customer and not to us". She apologized, but by that time, I was over it. Don't waste your money there. Make the trek to Silverlake Boulevard and visit Grace Ellay instead. read more

I used to live in LA and loved going to Clover to purchase jewlery, clothing, and housewares. I stop by Clover every time I'm in the LA area and always leave with something. The customer service is the absolute best, in fact I am consistently notified whenever something new has arrived. I get a text with pictures, which is awesome because I can decide immediately on whether or not I want to buy it. Once I've decided I call the store and they ship it out to me same day. How great is that? I don't know too many places that will personalize a shopping experience for a customer like Clover does. They always offer the best of the best, they have a unique variety - things I haven't seen anywhere else. Clover is not your "run of the mill" boutique. read more
