This is related to the convenience store side of the travel plaza - If I could give this place a NEGATIVE ZERO that is what they would get because greed and deceit get you no where. I went in to get a few drinks - 2/5.5$ and 2/5$ - the girl at the register was unpleasant and frankly acted as if I was a complete bother. She rang up the drinks - the total was $13.87 - I said that's impossible as I have a 2/5.5$ and a 2/5$ - it should b $11.24 - (I love math) she looked at me like I was a thief and proceeds to say oh it's probably a system error - I said well please adjust - again a look like I was crazy. Be ware they don't care if u don't care overpaying. System error- plz - u don't care to properly adjust ur systems - u hope people don't pay attention. I'm where I'm at because I pay attention. It is a truck stop so there is plenty of parking. We are a the restaurant inside and the food was good and quick to be served. There was plenty of seating and talking to people it appears they have their daily regulars. The waitress was unsure of what was gluten free so she made sure to check all the ingredients after we order to verify that is was safe. read more

Another foreign owned truck stop, greedily charging $12 to park for Federal mandated 10 hour break. Parking lot is of course sloped like you are about to take off. The restrooms are bad with the familiar water bottles littering the toilets. The employee at the counter was rude. The convince store had more useless cheap souvenirs and less food and drink. The waitstaff in the restaurant I am sure besides being low level didn't have much knowledge of their menu. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else for health and safety reasons. read more

Country Kitchen, the no-frills eatery at Cloverdale Travel Plaza, is a fine example of a classic diner in Middle America. My advice when dining at one of these establishments is to get breakfast or country fried steak because they are usually top notch. This morning's meal was no exception. I ordered country fried steak with a side of grits with cheese and was gifted a slice of bacon from the hubs. The grits were cooked perfectly and only needed a pinch of salt. The country fried steak was fantastic with a good crisp under a generous amount of white gravy. I'm a slow eater and the breading on the steak was crispy until the last bite, despite the smothering of gravy. The thick-cut bacon was perfection with a balance of crisp and softness. Went today and I picked a bad day the waitress was pissed because her replacement didn't show up. The cook's said they were closing and going home I assume because they're replacement didn't come and they were running out of food. We still got alright service for the situation. I got the double cheeseburger and fries the fries were very good the burger was not. The burger actually didn't have any taste at all. My wife had the blt and she said it was okay. The grand kids had tender's which they didn't eat so I ate them they were good. Not the best experience. read more

Their fish is good, though the batter on it is inferior. The chicken is good too, but the side dishes are all rubbish. The fries-aren't, the potatoes cold, well, all of the sides are so obviously out of large food service tubs from whatever local warehouse they buy from. You can get better food in a TV dinner. The real problem is that the entire place is disgustingly filthy. There are stains all over the walls, floors, tables, etc. Thick dust and dead bugs in all of the window sills. I was driving all day and famished so pulled off at Cloverdale, IN. The Cloverdale Kitchen was open so I stopped in. The young man sat me in a booth and took my order. We chatted most of the time and it was interesting conversation. My food arrived and it was delicious - a well made BLT with crispy bacon, crispy fries and an awesome slice of carrot cake. When I got them home I found out I got two proteins, and sides only for one of the proteins. Not only that they got the sandwich wrong. I waited there 30 minutes, they weren't that busy, and they still got my order wrong and I paid for two platters not one and a sandwich, but two platters. I'm not happy with it. And I'm not sure whether or not I want to give them a second chance or what. read more

FOLKs, remember it's a truck stop restaurant! There is no fancy nothin here except for good food, good service, and friendly hometown folks that will share their stories and the day's events in a heartbeat (G-d bless them all). I was in town for a friends wedding and it was the only place around open at midnight that wasn't fast food ... No frankly, I think it was the only place open period. Food was down home good cooking ... No fancy spices or sauces. Service was excellent ... and the four older gentlemen (and I'm sure they will be upset for me referring to them as "gentlemen") setting at the counter were a hoot. Kept me laughing most of my meal. Make sure to top off your meal with vanilla ice cream and choclate sauce. Again, nothing special, just honest food and GOOD people ... What more could you ask for from a truck stop restaurant? Solid meal... in town with my husband for a basketball tournament and we're usually spoiled by the vast array of Indianapolis area restaurants. This spot looks like a run down truck stop, and it is. Once you expect that, you can be charmed by the excellent service, really solid breakfast food (available all day) and the very reasonable prices. They had a breakfast buffet that consisted of bacon, sausage links, pancakes, French toast, eggs, omelettes (precooked) , biscuits and gravy, cereal, and a couple other things. The waitresses were friendly and service was prompt. My sister and I decided on the breakfast buffet which included your drink for $9.99. The buffet wasn't huge but $9.99 including drink still wasn't a bad deal. The biscuits and gravy he were pretty decent. And my sister loved the French toast. Been here a couple of times and both times I ordered the same fish dinner plate. Both times it was very good, but not consistent in that each time the fish is fried in a different batter. The first time it came out in like a golden beer batter, the second time it tasted as though the fish had been breaded in Kentucky Kernel (I know it is misspelled, that is how the company spells it) Seasoned Flour. Like I said, both times good though. The waitresses both times were very friendly and warm, and the setting is like any other truck stop diner that I have been to. Parking can be really interesting for an 18 wheeler. Very steep incline, make sure your brakes can handle it. The parking lot is not well kept up. Trashy and need of repair. There is however parking late at night. And I can see why, but when you need parking, this is an option. Going on the few reviews, I have seen on this restaurant; it is mediocre at best. read more

It had been almost ten years since my last visit so I was looking forward to going back here. The experience started out a little disappointing but it got quite better the longer I was in there. First, it didn't take too terribly long for the waitress to come by to give us menus. The table had some spots so she left to clean it. It took her some time to return so I wish she had taken our drink orders before leaving. After giving us our drinks, we waited a rather long time for her to come back to take our food orders. It was kind of a bummer that they were out of my sister's first choice of drink (Mr. Pibb) and they were out of my first choice of food (fettuccine alfredo). Our drinks weren't very fresh and it took a very long time to get our food even though the place was less than half full. I wasn't having that great of a time, until the food came. I got the cheese quesadilla (had to wait a little longer since they messed up in making it), but it was very good once I got it, and everyone else enjoyed their food as well, although my sister's biscuit was a little stale according to her, but overall everything was good so I suppose waiting a bit isn't that bad for good food. At this point everything seemed fine except for the fact that the waitress seemed quick to leave the table after stopping by, so we quickly had to blurt out we wanted take-out boxes before she was long gone. All in all, I came away pleased enough with the place and I'll likely stop in again before another decade passes. I hope I'll be able to try that fettuccine then. read more

The meal was very good. Very large plate of food ate till I was full and still have enough for breakfest. The location is in a truck stop but dont let that stop you very good food and very friendly staff service with a smile and happy to make you smile aswell.
