    Half order of Beef Manhattan
    Draco S.

Good food, the grilled chicken tenders had good flavor & nice and juicy but the mashed potatoes were ice cold. My aunt got 1/2 order of the beef manhattan she said the meat was tender and there was a lot in the manhattan however her mashed potatoes were cold as well. Other than that the food was good & the waitress was super friendly.

After leaving Cataract Falls on a Monday evening we were looking for a place to call in an order for pick up & take back to our AirB&B. That's when we found Lou's Diner. We looked at the menus on Yelp. I called to place an order. The lady on the phone said it would be about 20 minutes (which was perfect because it was going to take us 15 minutes to get there). The parking lot was packed but luckily there were a few spots open. I parked & walked in. There was a specific area for pick up orders. I went to the window. I could see several large groups of people at tables eating. They all looked like they were having a good time. A lady came over & asked for my name. Our food came out as she was giving me the total. Both ladies were super nice. Mom & I both ordered cheeseburgers. I ordered fries with mine & mom ordered onion rings. Our burgers were very tasty. The fries were good - nothing crazy. But those onion rings? Incredible. They were perfectly crispy & delicious. We talked about driving back just to get another order. Overall, if you are looking for a local place to eat - this seems like this is where the locals come on a regular basis & I understand why. Great prices & great food.

Stopped in on the recommendation of a friend. Ordered the breaded tenderloin and homemade onion rings... $8.+ dollars for this massive BPT . I could only eat less than 1/2. We ordered 5 tenderloins & 2 orders of onion rings = $65.00. Service was great.

Wow it was a fantastic pork tenderloin sandwich. If you are on your way near Indianapolis stop in this place you won't be disappointed. And get the coconut cream pie to go it is home made just like my sister's. Service was very quick and friendly. The young lady knew many of the customers by name. Ambiance it's a mom and pop place with great food here in the Midwest. No fancy table clothes needed just great food.

After a family trip to Cataract Falls, we found this place while searching food choice along the route home. Had some good reviews. I agree 100%! Party of 11 sat quickly. Friendly service. Pork Tenderloin was huge, thick, & tasty! They even split it for us. Got the mushrooms side, so good! Got a peanut butter pie to share and was delicious! I would highly recommend! We left stuffed and happy!

    Huge tenderloin! VERY good!

If you ever need a place to eat in Cloverdale, Lou's Diner is pretty good, for sandwiches and fried sides. Our grandson got the single cheeseburger and I got the Reuben, which were both good. Hubby got the tenderloin, and it was EXCELLENT, and HUGE! The fries were very thick and just so-so. Onion rings and fried mushrooms were VERY good! Some of the booth seat are old and worn and duct-taped - but other than that, the place looks nice inside - very clean, and decorated super-cute. Our waitress was cheerful and attentive, quick to notice drinks getting low and to refill them. Top-notch service. For a small town "hole-in-the wall," it was really a pleasant meal. We will stop here again sometime.

FatCat not like to brag, but FatCat recently try Chicken Fried Steak for first time in cat life #3 *. FatCat think it funny that chicken fried steak have no chicken in it, but FatCat not too picky. FatCat only care about flavour** and FatCat not disappointed with Lou's Diner. Things FatCat Like - Flavour of fried steak. FatCat expecting chicken, but instead FatCat get something better, beef steak in fried chicken clothing. - Waitress lady not even think twice after seeing cat reading menu. Treating FatCat like real person. FatCat like hospitality. Things FatCat Not Like - Sticky table, but small price to pay for good food. FatCat attach photo of meal for you to drool over. You welcome. It's a travesty to roadside diners like Lou's that the American traveler has become caught up in the "hurry" of fast food while traveling or opt to fly. Missing the opportunity experience the epitome of the American dining experience. The local mom & pop diner. Lou's is exactly that. Located about a mile off interstate 40 at exit 41 in Indiana. You wouldn't know it was here. Thank you Yelp! It's clearly where the Coverdale, population 2100, locals eat. We were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in the door. It's cozy diner, nothing fancy. The booth seat has tears patched together with duct tape but they were comfy! I didn't sink into them or have anything poking me where it shouldn't. The waitress was pleasant and happy to help me decide what to eat. Everything on the menu is home style. Meatloaf, pork tenderloin, club sandwich. Nothing fancy. My pork tenderloin came out on a 16" plate! I ate over half and my to go box was still a full dinner portion!! Insane. My husband ordered the meatloaf and it didn't need any ketchup or gravy. That's got to speak volumes. Of course they also have pie but I ate too much tenderloin. Don't be afraid to get off the interstate at the small towns. They have the best local eats.

Leaving with full stomachs & even fuller hearts!

If you're passing through and looking for a piece of home, Lou's is your place! Two friends and I were on our way from Missouri to Ohio when we felt a rumbling in our tummies. We're so glad we pulled into Lou's. This was a real conversation we had while driving away: "That was a very, very good cheeseburger." "It was really good." "Yeah." "We should've had the pork tenderloin, man." It's safe to say that we'll be back!

Pros: Found this place from the iExit app Not right off the highway, but a few easy turns and you'll learn where the locals dine! Friendly service Nice selection of daily specials Large dining space Loved the house made onion rings Cons: Decor could use an upgrade, but it doesn't really matter. Pro tip: Get the daily special and a slice of pie

    Grilled / Breaded Tenderloin

Good food, good service. This is a little hometown diner with homemade food. We got the pulled pork sandwich and the pork tenderloin. Both were good but the pork tenderloin is the way to go. It is hand breaded and it is also not as thin as a normal Indiana tenderloin. It had good flavor and is HUGE! We went right at 11 and food came out quick. Service was all friendly.

The diner is not fancy or upscale, in fact, the side walks could use some love. But the food is fabulous and service is downright friendly. The dining room is filled with about a dozen mismatched tables. The regulars were bantering and watching "The Price is Right" on the tv monitor. The place has a lot of small town character. Our server brought water quickly, took our orders and checked on us several times. The menu is divided into breakfast and lunch and dinner entrees. Breakfast is served until 11:00 a.m. Menu options include an interesting twist on traditional breakfast and lunch items. Eggs are farm fresh, oats are organic and tomatoes are heirloom. Daily specials are listed on a chalk board. Prices are reasonable. I had the Griddled Sourdough BLT which was packed with bacon, lettuce and heirloom tomato. My sandwich was beautiful and tasted great. The hand cut fries tasted delicious. My husband had Bob's Breakfast, a dinner favorite named for one of the dinner's first customers. The plate is a delicious concoction of hashbrowns, topped with two eggs, smothered in sausage gravy. My husband said "it works!" and devoured the entire plate. In a case by the cash register were the most gorgeous cookies that were huge. The cookies are made fresh daily. We took home a Blueberry Cream Cheese Cookie that was probably the best cookie that I've ever tasted. I'm not exaggerating. The cookie was chewy with caramelized edges and lots of flavor from the fresh blueberries. I'll be making regular trips to Morgantown for those dang cookies. The restrooms are a bit tight. I'm guessing a wheelchair could not get through the door. There are a couple picnic tables outside if you want to bring your dog and eat. There is plenty of parking in their private lot. I'll be returning to try the dinner menu. I have to try the Shrimp and Grits.

It was delicious, and we've eaten there a few times since and always have a great experience. We both have been wanting to try some of their lunch specials, but we work and can't get there to check it out. We were off today and decided to go there for lunch because they were having chicken and noodles, and that's one of my favorite meals. It did not disappoint at all. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our meals and even ordered seconds to go, so we could have it for dinner. The chicken and noodles came with mashed potatoes, corn or green beans, and a roll. You could definitely tell the food was homemade too. Delicious! The Farmhouse Diner isn't a very big restaurant and can get pretty busy. It reminds me of a little country diner where all the local farmers and their wives go to eat breakfast and lunch. The staff is always super friendly and attentive too. We will definitely be going back.
