The past few years (since about 2013 or so) I've been to many different smog shops around Clovis. Every time I needed to get my vehicle's smog renewed, I would be unsure of where to go because it seems like there's always smog shops opening and closing. Finally, I've found a place that I will be returning to! The process is super quick, in and out in less than 10 minutes. Walked in without an appointment and there was no line. Tons of snacks, coffee, and tea on hand in a comfortable waiting area. Don't waste your time going to other smog shops that are sketchy, slow, or won't be open 2 years down the road. read more

Came here for a last minute smog check before I hit the DMV. The guy working (maybe the owner?) was super welcoming and friendly. Also had a shop dog! Super chill! During the test we ran into a problem with my intake and he went out of his way to find the part number and finished up the test with passing scores. By far the Best smog place I've been to. The price is very reasonable & the service is prompt. I work across the street at Zitro Barbershop & I'm new to clovis So I was looking for a place that was local & professional , a place to call home as my clients say about the barbershop. Had a very different experience with this business than the other Yelp posters. I went in for the first time for a simple smog check and ended up paying $50 and spending hours of my time going back for "retests" after the tech told me I was supposedly having an issue with an oxygen sensor reading on my computer -- even though the car passed all of the other components of the smog test. Long story short, I finally took the car to another smog station, passed without a problem (the tech told me he did NOT get an oxygen sensor reading issue when he tested it but even if he had, because my car was a 1999 model, the oxygen sensor issue was not a reason fail my vehicle if everything else passed). So I went back to Clovis Smogs with the paperwork showing the car had passed and tried to get some sort of explanation and refund. Before I could even finish explaining what other station's technician told me, the owner literally laughed in my face and then he threatened to call the police if I DIDN'T LEAVE. read more

You get that smog letter from the DMV and your heart sinks. You foresee a dirty place and a long wait. Well no longer! Clovis Smog was so clean and homey with couches and a huge array of teas and coffee! The owner was so fast that I didnt even have one sip of my tea and he was already done. There is no other place I would go but here! read more

Best smog place in the valley for sure. Really fast took lest than 10 min. Great customer service too, my gf forgot her phone & wallet there & the employee called my phone telling us her stuff was there, who does that nowadays with so many shady businesses out there. Called in the morning to get a quote and found Clovis Smogs more affordable compared to another smog station within a 10 mile radius. Came in after work on a Thursday (there were no other cars being serviced at the time) and the smog service was quick! Done in about 10 minutes. After the smog was done, Mike gave a brief explanation of everything. A business with a clean, comfortable waiting area and great customer service! Will be back again. read more

Mike is the man! I requested a quote and received a response within minutes and at an affordable price. I showed up later in the afternoon and was greeted by him and his two friendly dogs behind the counter. The waiting area is very comfortable and even has complimentary coffee and snacks. I messaged Clovis Smogs around 8 am to see if they could possibly fit me into their schedule and they said I could go in at that moment. I got there about 20 minutes later and he took my car right in. He was done about 25 minutes later! I would totally recommend this business to everyone. My car needed it's smog done and he was able to help me quickly and it passed. I have a 2005 Nissan Maxima. Will be gladly returning! read more

This place has so much hospitality! Very consumer friendly and gives excellent service. Got my car smogged in about 20ish minutes. There was no wait on a Saturday. Also, it has a super cute coffee bar with a large variety of options; just an added plus. The owner was extremely friendly and also honest about the service we needed/didn't need. He is so amazing! So my car was not able to be smogged by him because at the time he was not star certified (now he is) and he still helped. He "pre-tested" me so I would not have to pay fail pay pass. He gave me advice on how I can pass and also jumped my car since by battery died. He also told me where to go that was star certified. He is nice and will communicate well. There are free snacks but the customer service is TOP NOTCH. His prices are fair but honestly I would pay much more for his service because it is worth more. The place were I got smogged had gross coffee, took longer, and did not talk to me other than taking my money. PLUS HE HAS CUTE DOGS. Perfect place! read more

Called owner Mike for a last minute appointment to get my RV smoged. Due to the rain, Mike was able to get me in right away. I found out that previous smog stations had gouged me on pricing. Mike was professional, reasonable, and thorough. Dogs Jake and Girlie were friendly and made the time pass quickly. Drove in with our commercial van for a smog without an appointment. Was thrilled that they were able to take the van right away. I was in and out in 20-25 minutes with smog cert in hand. Was prepared to kill a couple hours walking around downtown Clovis but never needed to. The waiting area was spotless and they had a massive spread of complimentary coffee/tea. What a cool place! In and out in 10 minutes. The shop was immaculate, and the waiting area was like a cafe! I was planning on walking down to a coffee shop to wait, but the waiting area had everything I needed; coffee, tea, snacks, sodas, comfortable seating... not to mention I LOVED the wall art (Framed printables of the Bill of Rights and The US Constitution.). Advertise Pricing that company show $26750 , tax and fee show $2945.97. Sum up the 2 numbers will come out to $29695.97. He wanted to play words with me like $29695.97 is the net pricing with tax and fee , and wanted to add $2945.97 one more time. I was tired with this guy, no respond and decided to leave. For the whole story, i did not low ball their pricing. Whatever their mother company want to sell , i agree to pay for, but when i come to the dealer. All dramas and traps. Even when the sale team member agree with the OTD pricing. You still have to deal with their sale manager with all bs reasons. ONE MORE THING: THE CAR IN REAL IS NOT SIMILAR TO THE ONE THEY ADVERTISE. THE WHEEL LOOKS DIFFERENT FROM THE ONE ON THE WEBSITE EVEN THOUGH STOCK # IS SIMILAR. I GUESS THEY SWAP FROM OTHER MODEL FOR OTHER CUSTOMER. SO WHOEVER BUY THAT CAR AND DO NOT PAY ATTENTION OR CHECK CAREFULLY, WILL END UP BEING A LOSER. Five stars for a smog DMV service station... what the helli?…read more My car didn't pass smog initially. Turns out I had tear in my air-intake hose. They showed me the broken part and even did a quick demo, pointing out how to remove the part for fast replacement. They also mentioned this was pretty common in older model Hondas. Since I had already paid; they said get the part replaced, come back, and I could basically skip the line to get the test done. I replaced the part myself, which I'm pretty proud of, came back the next day and then my battery died... what the f@%k?! - NOTE: If your battery dies, the car computer has to reset. Which means you need to drive around for at least 50-miles. I did this, came back, they slide me in, and finally passed smog! The staff here was super patient, helpful, and very understanding to my situation. Beyond registration they also replace key fobs for cars and can cut new car keys as well.

I had to leave the car in the shop an additional day and pay an additional $1,590.79 and that was with a 10% discount as compensation for having to pay the initial cost of $863 when that wasn't the issue! That's right I payed $2,453.79 for a $1,750 repair that wasn't diagnosed correctly in the first place and the manager didn't even step up and compensate me correctly for THEIR mistake! Shout out to Richard, the cashier, for giving me his employee discount of 10%! As the Manager should be forced to review the reiteration of diagnosing a car first to make sure that the first/major issue is made aware to the customer and how the customer wishes to proceed! If diagnosed correctly in the first place I would have held off on the $863 tune up in order to afford the head gaskets, the belt and a new alternator plus labor costs! I will never give props to Pep Boys again as I have for the better part of 30 years! In case everyone on the planet is unaware, money doesn't grow on trees!

I'm sure prices can vary based on your car. This time around they were way less pushy about upselling me on air filters and fluid flushes. I drive a Subaru, so a lot of the suggestions they offer I can't do at drive through oil change place anyway. I have to do it at the dealership, which is a pain. They come pretty close to the 15-minute oil change guarantee, so even if there's a line it moves fast. Don't forget to clip the 20% coupon on their Yelp page. Save that money!

I'm from Los Angeles we could do this all day , The customer always wins. This is your business. We could keep going at it all day. 1. Constitution & Patriotism: Waving the Constitution around while failing to demonstrate the basic civility and professionalism expected in business is laughable. Patriotism is not a substitute for respect, customer service, or lawful business practices. Screaming "freedom" while insulting your customers only shows that you have no understanding of what liberty and responsibility actually mean. 2. Personal Attacks & Racism: You accuse others of racism while stereotyping, belittling, and making sweeping generalizations yourself. This contradiction makes your words void of credibility. If your defense of your business requires name-calling and labeling customers as "3-year-olds," "woke," or "racist," then your argument is already lost. 3. Business Practices: You claim to stand by your convictions, yet nowhere in your tirade do you demonstrate professional integrity. Instead of calmly clarifying procedures or providing evidence of your claims, you chose to weaponize your personal identity and hurl threats. A legitimate business speaks through transparency, fairness, and facts--not through insults and political posturing. 4. Threats of "Wrath" & Deportation Offers: Offering to "buy a one-way ticket" to send a customer out of the country is not only wildly unprofessional but dangerously hostile. One star for this business, as I walked in and the person working didn't look up for several minutes, or even acknowledge that a customer had entered. There was a "Recall Newsom" petition in the middle of the room, and I decided their poor taste in politics would be the reason I take my money elsewhere, and walked out. Gavin Newsom was an awesome mayor-and in my opinion-the best San Francisco has had (I have lived there for over 25 years). The City was clean and efficient while he was in office, and I was very happy with his work. I loved watching him wipe the floor with Ron DeSantis during the debate. Wasn't that fun? It sure was. Republicans can't debate to save their lives. I'm not sure what Clovis Conservatives are thinking. No Republican has ever balanced the budget. Climate change is making it so that many businesses will soon be impossible to insure, let alone plan or budget for. Yet they'll happily be led nose to ass by Faux News to the slaughter, repeating the same stupid mantras over and over. I suggest Clovis Smogs keep their political views out of their business identity, as I will now be making sure friends and family steer clear. And since these friends and family are educated, we're all employed with money to spend. I went down the street and found an alternative Smog Shop off of Barstow, which was fast, fairly priced, and made no mention of things that would best be left out of a smog business. We reported this matter to the State Bar, and shortly afterward, the business owner began threatening my wife with legal action. Let me be clear: intimidation tactics will not work. There is no legal basis for your threats, regardless of how strongly you assert otherwise. Furthermore, your employees have demonstrated a lack of understanding of their responsibilities something that was directly acknowledged by the Bar representative during their inspection at our home.
