I'm from Los Angeles we could do this all day , The customer always wins. This is your business. We could keep going at it all day. 1. Constitution & Patriotism: Waving the Constitution around while failing to demonstrate the basic civility and professionalism expected in business is laughable. Patriotism is not a substitute for respect, customer service, or lawful business practices. Screaming "freedom" while insulting your customers only shows that you have no understanding of what liberty and responsibility actually mean. 2. Personal Attacks & Racism: You accuse others of racism while stereotyping, belittling, and making sweeping generalizations yourself. This contradiction makes your words void of credibility. If your defense of your business requires name-calling and labeling customers as "3-year-olds," "woke," or "racist," then your argument is already lost. 3. Business Practices: You claim to stand by your convictions, yet nowhere in your tirade do you demonstrate professional integrity. Instead of calmly clarifying procedures or providing evidence of your claims, you chose to weaponize your personal identity and hurl threats. A legitimate business speaks through transparency, fairness, and facts--not through insults and political posturing. 4. Threats of "Wrath" & Deportation Offers: Offering to "buy a one-way ticket" to send a customer out of the country is not only wildly unprofessional but dangerously hostile. It reveals a disturbing mindset: one where you believe intimidation and xenophobic rhetoric have a place in customer relations. This is disgraceful, and any respectable business would be ashamed to have such words tied to their name. 5. Cowardice & Hypocrisy: You accuse others of cowardice for not posting photos or last names online while you hide behind your business name to launch personal, unhinged attacks. Professionalism means resolving issues with dignity--not bullying. Your hypocrisy is evident and damaging. 6. Technical Defenses: If your intent was to explain why a car failed smog, that could have been accomplished in two sentences. Instead, you buried it under rants about college brainwashing and demons. Any competent business would present clear, evidence-based reasoning instead of conspiratorial rambling. 7. Psychiatric Insults: Suggesting a customer needs an "exorcism" or psychiatric help is not just unprofessional--it's degrading, reckless, and unethical. This crosses the line from bad business etiquette into outright harassment. 8. Your Reputation: Ultimately, what your letter demonstrates is not strength, conviction, or patriotism--it demonstrates insecurity, hostility, and a lack of emotional regulation. You don't defend your business; you tarnish it further by proving every negative impression correct. You had the opportunity to respond with facts, reason, and professionalism. Instead, you chose insults, threats, and self-contradictions. This is the type of behavior that doesn't just lose customers--it ensures they will never return and will caution others to avoid you. What stands out most about your business isn't patriotism, work ethic, or professionalism--it's how often the owner is online arguing with customers. When a business owner spends more time writing defensive rants on Yelp than focusing on running their shop, it says everything about where the priorities lie. A strong, reputable business doesn't live in the review section. If your service spoke for itself, you wouldn't feel the constant need to defend it. Your pattern of replies makes one thing clear: you're worried. You know negative feedback is stacking up, and instead of improving your operations, you double down with personal attacks. That's not how a confident or successful business operates--that's how a struggling one reacts. Unlike you, I don't need to obsess over reviews. If I want smog services, there are countless other shops--All-Star Smog being just one--that don't feel the need to argue with customers online to justify their credibility. A truly legitimate business lets its work speak louder than words, not the owner's ego. At the end of the day, maybe this industry isn't for you. If operating a smog shop causes you this much stress and frustration, it might be time to consider business management classes--or a different line of work entirely. Fresno and Clovis aren't exactly thriving markets, and your constant anger seems to confirm that you're struggling financially. Don't take that frustration out on your customers. One star for this business, as I walked in and the person working didn't look up for several minutes, or even acknowledge that a customer had entered. There was a "Recall Newsom" petition in the middle of the room, and I decided their poor taste in politics would be the reason I take my money elsewhere, and walked out. Gavin Newsom was an awesome mayor-and in my opinion-the best San Francisco has had (I have lived there for over 25 years). The City was clean and efficient while he was in office, and I was very happy with his work. I loved watching him wipe the floor with Ron DeSantis during the debate. Wasn't that fun? It sure was. Republicans can't debate to save their lives. I'm not sure what Clovis Conservatives are thinking. No Republican has ever balanced the budget. Climate change is making it so that many businesses will soon be impossible to insure, let alone plan or budget for. Yet they'll happily be led nose to ass by Faux News to the slaughter, repeating the same stupid mantras over and over. I suggest Clovis Smogs keep their political views out of their business identity, as I will now be making sure friends and family steer clear. And since these friends and family are educated, we're all employed with money to spend. I went down the street and found an alternative Smog Shop off of Barstow, which was fast, fairly priced, and made no mention of things that would best be left out of a smog business. Thank you for writing back, as it is obvious that I made the right choice taking my business elsewhere. To answer your inquiry about the Newsom signs outside-of course I saw the signs. But, I was willing to put politics aside if it meant I went to a business that does a good job, because my political views aren't my personality. However, my time is valuable, and I won't stand around unacknowledged, waiting, when I'm not even sure if I can be seen. I did go in, I was ignored, and that's what prompted my review. I originally found your business on Yelp and it was highly recommended, which is why I attempted to stop in. As I said, my political views aren't my personality, and I'm capable of visiting a business simply to receive service. See, in San Francisco, we believe acceptance of others. That's why people of all stripes live there. Meanwhile, MAGA is all about only thinking only one way. Not everyone is Christian, and we understand and celebrate that in the Bay Area. We help people. We love others. It was being ignored and having my time wasted that truly cost you my business. I didn't mention anything about vaccines or masks, that's your narrow viewpoint showing. I will also point out that Gavin Newsom hasn't been the Mayor in San Francisco since 2011. I had an awesome experience at Clovis Smogs! From the moment I walked in, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. They got me checked in quickly, and I didn't have to wait long for my smog test. The shop was clean, well-organized, and had a very professional vibe. What really stood out to me was how transparent they were about the process and pricing. They explained everything in detail and made sure I understood what was happening at each step. I really appreciated that since I'm not too familiar with car maintenance. We reported this matter to the State Bar, and shortly afterward, the business owner began threatening my wife with legal action. Let me be clear: intimidation tactics will not work. There is no legal basis for your threats, regardless of how strongly you assert otherwise. Furthermore, your employees have demonstrated a lack of understanding of their responsibilities something that was directly acknowledged by the Bar representative during their inspection at our home. I had a great experience at this smog shop! The staff was professional, friendly, and got me in and out quickly. The whole process was smooth, and they explained everything clearly without trying to upsell unnecessary services. Clean shop, friendly staff BUT, this is the COVID-19 era and they choose NOT to wear masks. They believe in God but think it's OK to promote spread of Coronavirus that's killed 180,000+ Americans. Crazy Bernie and Tammy the Tornado are HUGE fans. Took our motorhome to Blanca today and passed the dreaded smog test! She treats all of her customers like VIPs.
