I've had takeout here previously, but, today we ate in. It was late and only pizzas were available. They were excellent! I had the Greek and my husband had the Hamburger. If you like thin crust pizza, these were perfect! Crisp perfect crust and just enough toppings. The bartender/ waitress (Alex A) was great as well! Just placed an order for pick up with club 28, my husband and I have eaten there more than a few times while in the area. we eat there about once a week and basically order the same every time well today they messed up the order we got it back to our camper to eat and had ordered a double cheeseburger when we got home there was only one burger so my husband turned around and took it back when he presented it to them. They argued with him and told him he was wrong that he had only ordered a single hamburger but he had been charged for a double. Tell me if that's the way you treat all of your customers you argue with them and tell them that you ordered incorrectly. I don't know how a place stays in business like that. I've worked in restaurants for years and the customer was always right.. we know you don't care but you've lost some customers and we will certainly tell everybody else what shitty service you have. read more

Passing through on vacation, we decided to stop to try the pizza. The parking is a bit wonky but once you get in, the service is great! We all ordered different food, pizza, chicken parm sandwich, BLT, and nachos. Everyone was super happy with their food & cocktails. The server was very nice and answered all our questions. We stopped for a late lunch so the place was almost empty. The stairs are a little tight, and it doesn't appear to be wheelchair accessible. read more

It's a nice seemingly clean place. Great service. The ingredients they use on their pizzas are really good. COOK THE PIZZA. Don't be afraid to brown up the pizza even if just slightly. They come out so white it's as if the cheese is not even melted.i would recommend this place but make sure you ask them to brown the pizza if that's what you like. read more

Wrapped and boxed on pick up assured a flawless arrival to our oven. We ordered the meat lovers, the BBQ chicken, the chicken bacon ranch and the cheeseburger pizzas. Amazing value for great pizza, sandwiches and all the other cheesy things! They also make great bloodies. Highly recommend the Italian Beef sandwich. Tasty and huge! I'm eating the leftovers now (using a microwave, toaster oven and air fryer; totally worth the effort)! You must try their unique Greek pizza, which hasn't changed despite new ownership. We ordered four pizzas on phone from Club 28 for pickup. We ordered a large Greek, a Cheeseburger, a Meat Lover's, and the Chicken Bacon Ranch. All pizzas were delicious. They are a bit salty, but toppings are nice. The crust is thin and pizzas are cut into squares. The only bummer is that we were quoted 30-35 minutes and we showed up at 30. It ended up being 50. It wasn't terrible, but would've liked to had a bit of a better estimate of when to show up. read more

The service was very good, the ambience was okay. The food... was horrible. We had pizza because the reviews are quite good, however, the pizza was almost inedible. It's very, very thin which is not the problem. Cheese on top was just barely melted and the sauce was absolutely disgusting. Like others may have said, you didn't stop in this town unless you stopped here and tried their thin-crust pizza, have a drink and chat with a local, and enjoy the view of Sunday Lake on your way out. It isn't like any pizza I've ever had before, but I like it. Thin crackery crust, lots of sauce and cheese. The part that always gets me is that they cut it in squares (go for those edge pieces quick, otherwise no crust for you!). A visit in Wakefield isn't complete without a Club 28 pizza. read more

It's sad to see how this place has gone downhill over the past few years. The manager is obviously burned out and just plain rude. If you decide to eat here; get it to go. You will be treated like an "inconvenience" if this woman has to wait on you. Place is a dumpy $hit hole. Pizza is so bad it makes frozen look gourmet. Wings were soggy with grease. Servers are more concerned with the bar fly highlife drinking locals. Beer had a 'funk' to it, possibly dirty tap lines or something. Overall it sucked something awful. I don't live here full time but I have a house on Sunday Lake so I'm here frequently. I thought I'd give the place a shot since I haven't been there in over 5 years. If they are still in business in 5 more years I'll give it another shot. For being in such a great location and the advantage of one of the only restaurants in town, they sure do not care about their business. Lake views, skis resorts within a short drive, snowmobile trails 50 yards away makes it accessible and easy in/out. Owners and management just need to be booted. read more

Pretty disappointing pizza after reading the reviews. We tried the cheese pizza. The crust is thin and crispy, but doesn't really have any taste and as our pizza cooled, the crust got tough like cardboard. The sauce on the pizza was too bland for our taste. It tasted like they took tomato paste out of the can and spread it on the crust; there was no garlic, basil, oregano or anything that would have livened it up. The only good part of the pizza was the cheese. I would have given this place two stars, but the bathrooms are so gross that I am only giving one star. The bathroom smelled like sewage and instead of having an air dryer or paper towels to dry your hands with, there was an old-fashioned cloth towel on a spool. The spool of towel was at the end and the towel had clearly been used for a very long time and was no longer clean and dry. This is the same bathroom that the employees use to wash their hands, so that grossed me out. There are much better places to eat in the area. I wouldn't recommend. read more

It had 3 different owners within this time, but THEY always kept the same name and receipe and I LOVE it, it's a Wakefieldite must have along with a Randall Bakery pasty and both come with good company! I come to the UP about 4 times a year and can't wait to go to the quaint neighborhood tavern, Club 28. We are always welcomed with gusto and have never been disappointed with the food.
