Friday night 6:30 pm PACKED. 45 minute wait. Hubby noticed 2 empty bar stools. Asked if we sat there if we could eat at bar. Yes. We got the Delight Pizza with olives on side, extra sauce, thin crust. We had the pizza I'd say in maybe 12 minutes. It was DELICIOUS! We are from Iowa camping at Indian Shores for 9 days. Lisa the bartender waited on us. She was running her butt off, pregnant as well, doing a great job. I was going to buy a T-shirt but since they don't say "Wisconsin" on them I did not. You should add that! We sat by Jenifer at the bar who's from Alaska but lives here now & goes to this place several times a month. She also loves your pizza. The server was careless, and seemed like she was in a rush. The place had an abundance of flies, and a lot of food on the ground.

Food and drinks were exceptional. Server was very nice and took care of us in the best way.

Well sad to say, they are back to their old ways. EIither not open or closing early.

me and my father we're going there to get some pizza to eat at home with my family. We were waiting in line to order our pizza and apparently we were on the wrong side. This server yelled at us for being on the wrong side and told my father to look at the sign correctly. She was very rude and she yelled at us to get out of her way. I would not recommend this place this server was extremely rude and when we asked how long the wait would be, she said an hour and a half and pointed at the door for us to get out!!! The pizza is always delicious, and we look forward to getting some whenever we're in town. We usually order take out so can't speak to the dine-in experience. However, we've been very disappointed by the service. When calling the hostess is rude, sarcastic, and seems bothered by you and your business. Pros: Pizza (thin crust) was crispy with a good amount of toppings. Good location and nice view. Cons: Service - Not friendly or welcoming. If you don't mind waiting a long time at dinner time, this place will do. We went on a Tuesday at 5:00 and were told it would be 45 min to an hour. So put our name in. It was a little over an hour before we got a table for two. The food was okay but not worth a wait like that. Someone else who was waiting said she came in because they had taken the phone off the hook for takeout orders. It's the takeout orders that are the problem: they put priority on those and make everyone else wait! I'd say visit for lunch instead of dinner; our server agreed that would get you in faster. Ambience: an ordinary dining room, but there are only two single bathrooms, one for men directly off the bar area, and one for women directly off the dining room, so you wait in line in view of the customers! read more

If you get a lakeview window table, the view is a terrific bonus. Prices are reasonable for food and drinks. The woman who manages the place is welcoming, helpful hostess. What a great place. Took the grandkids there for pizza on a Wednesday night around 6 pm. The place was busy ... a really good sign. We sat in the bar area rather than waiting for a table and received a excellent service. Thin crust pizza is their specialty and I don't know how to describe it. It was super thin and crispy. The kids split a cheese personal pizza and had apple sauce as a side. They gobbled it up ... every deck was devoured and there were no crusts left having around. We had the 12" Delight, a mix of vegetables with sausage and pepperoni. There was plenty for the two of us. Again, the thin crust made it special. The place isn't big, but service is fast and friendly. The bartender that served our area was superb and earned a generous tip. Highly recommend without any reservations. I had a wonderful time at Monical's! They have the best French dressing I've ever had! The thin crust pizza was great not to greasy or filling and has a nice crunch. The server that we had, Jamie was the best server I've had in the Northwoods! She was friendly and was on top of things! The food came out super fast as well! Review is for the thin crust and the great, friendly service. Also Great Lake view from the dinning area. Still too cold to eat outside, but that looked awesome too! If you are a thin crispy crust person, I think you will really like theirs. I was happy with the toppings and overall flavor. They have pan pizza too. This is our 3rd visit to this location. Service has always been slow, I expect that as it's the northwoods, but our server was so flat and unfriendly I just don't see how she survives in a service industry. Also, in the 3 times we have been here, 2 of the times the same racist patron has been sitting at the end of the bar spewing hateful remarks about people of color. He is also so loud it's hard to ignore him. He even brags about being divorced 3 times. Gee, I wonder why.. BUT, we do like the pizza and that's why we have come back. If we didn't live 50 minutes away I would definitely do take out instead to avoid the unfriendly servers and the rude bar patron. read more

It's our first pizza here. It reminds us of the thin crust pizza you would find in the Chicago market with square cut and a nice thin crust that had some crispy spots in the bottom crust. I thought the proportions of sauce to cheese and Toppings was good. The sauce is a little sweet for my liking but it's the best thin crust I've had over the others in the North Woods. have always gone here for pizza on our trips up north and have always had a nice time. this time was less than ideal. seemed to be understaffed which might be the problem. we were told our wait would be 30-40 minutes and we waited well over an hour to be seated. once seated, it took the waitress a while to stop by our table (again, she was the only waitress for the whole restaurant so I feel it's unfair to her). we ordered two pizzas and breadsticks. the breadsticks never came and the pizzas were fine but not worth the wait. will probably skip monical's next time we're in town. read more

We found Monicals to be very nice. The food was very good. We had thin crust pizza and it was good, except the sauce was a bit tasteless. It was not horrible, just was missing something... The bar is beautiful, about 8" thick covered in epoxy and maybe 30ft long in possibly just two pieces of wood! Must weight a ton! Now I digress, and confess that i usually read one star reviews first. I think those who leave a one star review usually have something important to say. But many do not!! I take issue with out of towners who bitch about every little thing, and they have the audacity to compare places with "back home". If you want "back home" food, service, and ambience, then i suggest that you go to the national geographic web site and put a picture up of where you want to be and STAY HOME TO EAT!! You travel to Wisconsin to see the sights but when you are here you drive like idiots and want everything like "back home"....get a grip! And for those who have small children who are used to eating at home where they are allowed to scream and holler at will, i have news for you....many people keep their kids quiet out of respect for other diners Some of us actually taught our kids proper table etiquette! If you love thin crispy pizza crust, this is the place to go. We love the food and so does everybody else. The place is packed all the time! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because, there is a woman who works there that usually runs the cash register and takes your name to wait for a table that is so rude and unpleasant! It's as if you are annoying her for wanting to eat there. Don't ask any questions because you are likely to get scowl and a curt answer. We travel full time in our RV and every Friday night we order pizza from local businesses. Unfortunately this was the only pizza place open close to us past 8pm. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza with their regular crust to go. The atmosphere seems cool and very Wisconsin. The staff took our order and 20 min later we came back to pick up the order. We have a pizza bag like the delivery guys (yes we love pizza that much). The pizza was good but the dough was very bready like bisquick consistency. There wasn't a lot of pepperoni either which is always disappointing. The flavor was good though. We will try this place again but order the thin crust next time. read more

Changing my review: Third time we have been there this week, because they have great pizza. When we come up here every year and stay in St. Germain we always come a few times. We have always had great service and staff that was understanding that we have small kids who are picky eaters so usually my sister in law gets a meal for her kids to bring, but we went today and an older lady Becky was our waitress, she was extremely rude from the minute we walked in and continued to get worse during our meal. We left a good tip anyway but when we were leaving she came over and told us we couldn't leave the happy meal box from the 5 year olds lunch, it wasn't their trash, and we didn't ask to bring outside food so we can't leave it. They have always been extremely nice and accommodating, and we have never had an issue before bringing outside food for just the little ones (we always order a lot of food and tip good so it more than makes up for it). She was again very rude and confrontational as well, Just her service alone will make us avoid this location from now on. I did notice as other people came in she was just as unpleasant. She said we didn't ask I get that some places aren't ok with it but we've never had an issue in the past several years we've been going here. I really hope she isn't an owner because her whole attitude just isn't good business, and if she's an employee I'm sure her service will detour more than just us. read more
