It did not make sense or make us feel any safer. It just made going to a show feel like a chore. Once we were inside we all wanted to grab a beer. This is definitely not the place to do that! They had about 5 beers to choose from all of which I would never ever drink nor would anyone else in our group which is saying a lot because we all have pretty diverse tastes. All of the beers were like $18, even the garbage beers. I expect that price as we pay $19/beer at the hockey games but the arena offers a great selection. I'll pay $19 for a good beer. I saved lots of money at The Underground since they don't have any beer worth drinking. The bartenders at the bar on the left were not friendly and not interested in answering any questions. We ventured to the bar on the right and a few of us ordered mixed drinks.

Lighting is decent and one major positive was they had the a.c. cranked up high on the July evening we were there, when it was like 95 degrees outside. 2 major drawbacks...1. There's literally NOWHERE to park in the area for free. Th cheapest lot we found was around the corner and at the end of the street in a gravel lot and it was 12 bucks. Parking right at the venue is 40 bucks. 2. Drink and beer prices inside are way high. A shaker cup cocktail is 20 bucks and it's ALL ice. Refills are 17 bucks!!!! Another thjng I didn't like is that the box office is not attached to the venue and is up the street and they didn't take cash for tickets there. They also don't give you a paper ticket...they digitally text you a receipt and your tix too. Security has a walk through metal detector and they wand folks as well.

While we were there, a guy was harassing my female friend for about 5 minutes with no security anywhere. A random male had to step in just to stop it, and then the two guys started fighting. Security didn't do a single thing -- WE HAD TO TRACK THEM DOWN OURSELVES, and when we finally found one, she was just standing by the bathroom doing NOTHING. The short female security with a white stud was extremely rude, clearly didn't know the policies, and took my vape even though I'm 22, not even letting me take it to my car -- something that's never happened to me before. Meanwhile, right after, I saw a dude hitting his and another group smoking a blunt inside the club. They pick and choose who they enforce rules on -- personally, I've gotten free shots from the bartenders while other people get punished. Speaking of shots, they're overpriced and barely poured the correct amount of liquor. On top of that, there's tons of underage drinking, with underage girls getting into the club with zero issue, and I even heard rumors about human trafficking connected to this place -- completely insane. I used to be a regular and loved this place, but after this level of negligence, favoritism, and outright danger, I will never go back. Management needs to get their shit together immediately, because this place is unsafe, poorly run, and a total joke.

So interesting , thought provoking, some if it just made sense, the artwork, some kinda crazy, some cool, some actually hard to look at, some funny. Banksy definitely liked to spark conversation through his work. He is still a mystery , no one knows who he is. Some of his pieces are amazing. The amphitheater really does not have a poor spot in the house. There's also lawn seating as well! If you're going to a popular artist, you may be competing with the taller folks standing - to be expected - but overall great seating options. There's plenty of parking if you plan to drive, especially if you arrive early. Definitely worth it as you can walk right over from your spot and it's pretty easy to head out. Parking for events is typically $20. The security procedure getting in is also quite efficient. Make sure to check the bag policy before coming in. If you have assigned seats it's worth it to stop through VGBG to wait out the line, plus they validate parking if you're looking to have a meal before the concert. And if you're looking for other food options there's plenty within walking distance. Just check the days and hours, as concerts during the week may not have as many food options. The amphitheater has really nice restroom facilities and a few options for food and drinks. My friend and I really liked the cocktails - the watermelon tasted like a jolly rancher. They also come with their own cups, which you can bring back later for a small discount on a refill. The drinks are quite expensive, which is to be expected for onsite concessions. The Fillmore is also a notable venue, as it is really intimate and cozy. It was great because you can see your favorite artists up close. So happy that Charlotte has great venues for artists that I love. Looking forward to coming back again and again.
