This is my favorite strip club on the island! Let's be honest, any girl can take of their bra and panties off. What amazes me about 939 is the acrobatic skills all these women have! There are 3 stages with high ceilings and these girls are able to climb that pole all the way to the top and do amazing moves all the way back down! Usually when my friends and I come by we get a booth so we can get table dances from our favorite ladies ($20 per dance). Each booth has a pull-up bar above for the girls to do additional tricks at your table. It's pretty amazing how much upper body strength all these ladies have. Club 939 is one of the best clubs I've ever had the pleasure of attending!!! STUNNING dancers, beautiful decor, new hardwood floors and a Lyra hoop, plus they have 2 girls on stage at all times! Santana is our all time favorite. She was sweet, well spoken, and unbelievably seductive. However, every girl we met there was incredibly sexy, kind, and willing to welcome you to their club. The music is always top hits, classic club bangers, and drinks for customers are only $6-$10. The poles are about 10ft tall, and the girls really know how to work them! The skills some of these dancers have is nothing you will see anywhere else on island. Dances are pretty cheap, especially compared to mainland prices. Champagne rooms are the best option if you have the budget though, as it is a completely private room, as well as champagne included, and longer time than any of the other private dances. The club is bigger than any club on the island, and has plenty of room for large groups, including bottle service booths. Don't come in if you aren't willing to spend money, however, as the girls here work very hard, and don't appreciate under-tipping, but if you are spending money, the girls will do nothing short of treat you right. So every few years my girls and I summon up enough energy and stay up a little later than usual and venture out. On a Saturday night after a bday dinner we somehow managed to end up here and laughed as we rolled up in a soccer van in the public parking lot adjacent to 939. The parking machine takes cash or charge card. 939 is located on the corner of Keaaumoku and King Street. Our cover charge was 8$ and they gave us a 5$ off coupon for a drink so really it was like 3$ cover and for the Birthday girl it was FREE! wow that was better treatment than from the restaurant we came from. There are 3 stages and the dancing poles are almost 2 stories high. When we arrived 2 of them had dancers and 1 was empty. There are booths but the cost to sit there was $250 a bottle. We declined that and decided to sit right in front of the stage for the best views. There were literally about 20 people in the whole club including us but hey its 830pm! There was a good variety of dancers, older, younger, different ethnicities and all shapes and sizes. Some of the dancers were really acrobatic, sweet and impressed us with their skills and we happily tipped them. Some seemed unenthusiastic, grumpy and danced wearing a large tshirt and panty we thought that was interesting...maybe there were in the wrong profession. As the night progressed a bachelor party came and other patrons came. The crowd was mixed with tourists, military and locals too, and there were a few couples. Overall we had fun hanging out and chilling with each other. We heard that they have a Male review show on thursdays?? Might have to check that out when we have another girls night out. I came here with the wifey and some bro's after a night out. You pay the cover and make it rain on 'em. Rain - Why I won't take the wifey again. I think she took the "make it rain" phrase literally because once we sat down she had about $350 - $400 in singles while I went and got our drinks. I swear to you, I was gone no more than 7 minutes and as I was walking back I noticed a few dancers near our area. I was thinking to myself, bringing a female does attract the dancers to your table. What I didn't realize was that she literally made it rain. When I returned, she was like I need more money. More money? WTF happened to all the money you just had. Hehehe I made it rain. I was like no you didn't, stop playing. You don't make it rain. That's for videos and hip hop stars. Regular people like us don't make it rain. SMH. 7 minutes and already $400 gone or as some might like to put it, in some young girl's "college" fund. All good though, we stayed, had a few drinks, tipped the dancers some more and taught my wife a lesson on how to be like all the regular joes that go to strip clubs and make the ladies shake that money maker for them bills. PROS: This place is very clean and spacious. Prices for adult beverages are typical. Most dancers are very talented on the pole. CONS: The bartender pours very light on the cocktails which forced me to drink beer. CUSTOMERS CANNOT HAVE LAP DANCES -- only table dances. Physical contact is severely monitored. Being FRISKY is not allowed for both customers and dancers. Female customers cannot sit on the laps of neither male nor other female customers. Since the dancers are very athletic, their bust sizes are limited to mostly size B/C. The dancers with larger bust sizes usually don't do the athletic acrobatics on the poles. Hence, this is an itty-bitty-titty bar. Prices for their VIP room and Champagne room are not worth doing. VIP room and Champagne room are monitored so being FRISKY is not allowed. Not ideal for bachelor parties since the groom-to-be can neither receive a good old-fashioned frisky lap dance in the limited privacy of any of their rooms. Summary: Definitely more CONS than PROS when compared to other bars. This is probably why Club 939 is very clean. Do not go to this club is you're looking for the old-fashioned friskiness for lap dances and VIP treatment. Go to this club if you're looking for a place to see flopping flying nips on poles and tables. I would rather see a Cirque du Soleil show for the price of trying to enjoy a night out at Club 939. read more

This club has changed from my last review, but in a good way. From the word of one of the bouncers, a lot has changed since my last review. Cover charge is $8 kamaaina with local ID. I recall that those with passports and out of state IDs is about double that. The cover charge includes two free domestic drinks. The coupon is on your receipt so don't throw it away! I ordered two coronas and only paid the difference of $2. This is still the only strip club on the island with high 10ft+ poles. This allows the girls to actually do tricks. The girls were extremely friendly and the people there were relaxed and just there to have a good time. The girls always came up to me and talked to me. The hostesses were really friendly and always asked us if we were okay on the drinks. Don't forget to tip them too! I only took off one star because their isn't any food here. I recall being able to order food here back in the day, but that was years ago. This strip club has a very friendly atmosphere. From the moment you enter the door, the staff are super nice. I still consider this the classiest strip club on Oahu. Ideal for everyone and a recommended place for couples. This feels weird reviewing a strip club but I'm furiously trying to yelp more places than two other friends right now, so strip club? Why not! Ironically one of those friends joined me for one of these experiences. Overall 939 is probably the nicest strip club in Hawaii, speaking from what others say and from personal experience (haven't been to all but I'm assuming the little holes in the walls with names like "misty" or "cinnabuns" isn't going to be all that great). I think 939 is a fun place to go if you have girls in your group because well these strippers actually have a fair amount of talent! The poles are very high and the girls are more artistic and can do tricks, where as say somewhere like Femme Nu the poles are like 2 feet high and they walk around with bean bags and don't do much dancing at all. But to each his own, so know your group accordingly and then choose accordingly. 939 is also a tighter run ship, cleaner but also more strict. Though one of my good buddies used to work security here, the security is quite anal sometimes but hey it's their job I guess. As for the girls, there's a lot of diversity and you just have to find the nice ones. We've had great experiences with girls who are super down to earth and fun and our group even tipped a girl so good she had to leave and come back downstairs with a bucket to collect her dollar bills. But as in life, there are some bad apples, I remember a night out where we had like 5-7 first timers and maybe a total of 15 in our group, the first timers were trying to feel out the place but rather than be friendly or start dancing this ugly stripper slaps her heel and complains about how they need to start tipping (first off if you're going to stand by the pole and not do anything and just talk to your friend what do you expect people to tip you with? monopoly money?) But that chick is in the minority, and she went home grumpy and broke while the other girls went home happy. it's not the best place for first timers because it can be a little intimidating and theres not many places to sit. You come here knowing it's going to be a bare-all show, minus explicit interactions with others (and it should stay that way). This was my first time here, as well as the group I had with me. I can say at the very least, it was a very classy affair. I was confused if it was a bar, club or other cause the only ones dancing were the ones on stage - then again, going on a weeknight may have contributed to the atmosphere. Most of the dancers are skilled in what they do and everyone has their own personal touch to it. Whether sensual, dominating, acrobatic, sarcastic, or annoyed (biased). Actually, the reason why I say annoyed, and had given this specific rating was because one of them came off just that. After holding on for dear life to the pole, occasionally swaying her hips, and aimlessly walking back and forth on the stage, she sits at the edge of our side to request, "Tip, please"? C'mon, no waiter at a restaurant would even in their right mind should ask for something so forward like that (unless there are unspoken rules with which they are allowed to ask those things). I don't know what she had before the show, but my friends and I were not amused at that point. The irony is that, because when we did tip her, she did do some very interesting moves that now my friend will use in the future with her partner. We questioned whether or not it was all an act after that. However, if it was, then bravo for being VERY convincing. Aside from that, the drinks were fairly priced and they had my go-to drink that not a lot of establishments offer anymore. Drinks were watered down, and they give you the special "Aloha" pricing to go with it. Just sitting for 90 minutes with six drinks for the table was $177. My new regular stop when I visit my parents. I know, I know.... Pros: This is the best club I've been to, and I live in LA - which after Vegas, it's supposedly to be known for their adult clubs. If you just want mostly naked girls rubbing up on you, you might as well go elsewhere. No, this place is stacked with real talent! These girls practically fly up the poles and barely use any of their limbs to slide down. The layout of the place is a lot of fun too! I haven't gone during this new year, so this review will be more of my general experiences over the past couple years. 939 is an odd type of adult-club. I've never been to Vegas, so I don't know their model of business, but to me this seems like what a Vegas/LA type strip club would be like, glitzy, neon, bright. Its something of a contrast to nearly all the other types here in town, which tend to go for the less-lit approach. There's a benefit to lower lighting, as it hides flaws, ours and theirs. You tend to feel a little more comfortable in a darker setting cause it supports the feeling that no one is really paying attention to you. Another big difference is the type of pole activities. I've chatted a bit with friends about this, and ultimately, I'm not entirely a fan of the big pole routines 939 offers. Don't get me wrong, I admire the athleticism and performance, but it seems to go contrary to the drink/strip club experience. How so? Well, watching a girl plummet 15 feet to suddenly stop herself before she face plants tends not to mix well with me when I'm drinking. When I'm looking to relax, and mellow out, watching a girl fall from the ceiling tends to jolt me out of that. The thought of "Man, that's dangerous" tends to outweigh the appeal. This is also not a club to go to if you're just looking to hang out. The layout isn't really designed for 'at your own pace' involvement. You tend to have two options, sit at the stage, or sit pretty much at the stage. The table booths tend to be roped off and there is only a relatively small lounging area off-stage. Its all in the center of the room anyway, so you tend to be fair game for the dancers that aren't on stage, who do the usual routine of sit down, chat a bit, and suggest stuff like the champagne room. Its a bit harder to take a break between sets as well. Lets say you've been at stage, tipping appropriately and drinking, generally relaxing and enjoying yourself. You want to take a break, so you move away from stage (maybe all of 5 feet away, since that's your only real option), but then you become fair game as mentioned above. A bit more hustling than I'm comfortable with. Still, I believe its the only club on island that can attract the porn-starlets, if that's your thing. As with any location, attractiveness and skill-set of the girls varies. Overall, I'd say this isn't really the type of club if you want to 'relax' but it is a fun club if you're looking to be active and flirty or just loud with your buddies. read more

Out of all the Hawaii strip clubs that I've been to, I'd say this is where the "talented" girls are. These girls actually use the poles. They climb up to the top, slide down backward and land doing the splits. I mean C'MON! Sure, it takes a little more for the panties to drop, but there is a BIG difference from these girls and the ones at Electros! Femme Nu girls were hot at one time, but quality went down there. So now, it's all about the talent! I'm not sure how much cover is because we always get in free. One of my friends knows the owner so he hooks it up. We always get a table and sometimes we order bottle service. Table dances are $20 on weeknights. That's always fun because you can call different girls over to dance for you. We have our favorite girls. There's one in particular with a nice personality and sparkly glitter on her vajayjay. She's super flexible and by far the best girl there. It's a nicely remodeled place. The format of where the girls come down the stairs to the tables was nice. I also liked that the poles are go all the way up to the top of the 2nd floor. You get to see the girls climb and swing around like monkeys. Their strength was impressive. The moves, not so much. I know, it's a titty bar, not a circus. But when I saw poles that tall, expected a more spectacular show than that. It's overpriced and there aren't not enough chairs. I don't know how those large booths along the wall work but everytime a party left, they would clean it up and tie it off. So we couldn't sit there. People must've not been "feeding the machine" cause i heard the DJ announce more than once that the chairs AT the pole tables were for TIPPING ONLY. lol! It felt uptight in there. Not a bad place to go for a fun night out. Most of the dancers are attractive though this is a very "hands off" strip club. The dancers are polite but if you touch one or take a picture or don't tip you'll be out the door pretty fast. The playlists are generally very hip hop, the decor itself is clean and nice.
