Yum food, excellent service, pretty reasonable price! We were seated right away and had excellent service from all. Tables are close together and it is crowded and lively! Make a reservation! The restaurant is pretty busy. Drinks were good and not too strong. Food was great!! Pasta was al dente and tbh had similar flavors but were overall good. Uni pasta was weak on uni taste. My fave was the mushroom pasta!! We also shared a pizza that was interesting and good! The shrimp was small but still very tender. Carpaccio di Capesante: scallop sashimi starter was sooo yum. Highly recommend!!! I learned I really like sea asparagus LOLLLL Overall would come again for a break from local food!

Carbonara is one of my top favorite dishes of all time so when I saw this close by where I was staying, I had to check it out. I wasn't expecting the same quality or taste as when I was eating on the streets of Italy, but this was a pretty damn good plate of carbonara. The egg yolk split was really satisfying. The complimentary bread was better than average and the service here is top-tier. Definitely recommend getting a reservation as it is very packed with its close proximity to Waikiki beach.

Best authentic Italian restaurant on Oahu in my opinion! Their dishes taste just like Italy. I love that all their pastas come out perfectly al dente without having to ask them. We got the Bolognese and carbonara pasta and they were both to die for. They took me back to our trip to Rome. The carbonara especially was AMAZING. Like holy moly SO good, rich and creamy. I highly recommend getting the carbonara... it's super filling too-- my husband and I couldn't finish it. For appetizers we got the famous Arancino croquettes which are super crispy and yummy. Their argula prosciutto salad was yummy and tasty too. Service was great! Our waitress was quick and responsive and very nice. You do need reservations here or expect to wait at least 30 minutes... It's busy. The only bummer about the ambience is if you sit outside and they see you at a table right near the rope you were literally eating next to people walking by. I wish they had planters or something to make it feel more like a separated restaurant area.

We just beat the crowd (around 5:30) and were seated immediately, though by the time we left it looked there was quite a wait. Our body clocks were still on Mountain Time so that was fine but wouldn't have wanted to show up at a normal dinner hour. The wine list seems sparse for an Italian place but we enjoyed our glass nonetheless. We had the Insalata Caprese and it was really fresh. I had the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina and thought it was delicious. My lovely wife ate the Paccheri alle Vongole. She would have preferred smaller clams but that's a personal thing. She said the dish was great. Vegetarians know it can sometimes be difficult to search through a menu for things we can eat. A nice touch here, that I appreciated, is that although all the meat-free items are on the main menu, they offer a separate one with only vegetarian items to make life easier. ( I know, first-world problem). I thought that very considerate. And it was not a cheap throw away idea; it was just as nice as the main menu. Respect. We ate on the patio and though it was crowded we found it pleasant. It is next to a pretty busy street with nothing to block the noise, but there is a church across the street and perhaps that influenced the drivers to be more respectful, because it wasn't bad. Service was very nice; Chi took good care of us. The manager (or maybe owner) came by to check in and thank us for coming. When I said "Thanks for having us.", he actually looked touched and grateful. I did NOT like the that a photographer made the rounds trying to take and sell photos - but to be fair, when I said "No thanks" she smiled, said "Okay", and moved on. But I don't understand how this is still a thing when we all have cameras in our pockets at all times. Nice, light mango sorbet for dessert and we were on our way. Was it one of the best Italian meals I have ever eaten? Heck, no - my wife is from Foggia and we used to live in Chicago! But for a tasty , not expensive, almost-on-the-beach Italian meal, I will go back.

Was on the island for work and this place was recommended and lived up to the hype! Conveniently located below the great Marriott resort, I ate at the bar 3 nights of my stay. Night 1 - bartender Giuseppe made some strong recommendations of the scallop carpaccio and rigatoni cacio e peppe AND both very spectacular along with the Pinot Nego. Following night some lovely bartenders recommended the arancini balls which were delightful along with a refreshing caprese salad. One of the ladies overheard me saying it was my birthday and brought me a birthday message and sorbet for an unexpected desert - so sweet! And final night, back to Giuseppe and another bartender - great Pinot Noir from Oregon, lovely conversations, great food again (had to get the arancini again and the Misto salad - both delish). Love the special attention the bartenders paid and made sure I had plenty of water and wine and felt completely comfortable at bar. Truly felt like I was in Italy again! I will be back in two months and this will be my new favorite place for Italian for sure!

My (ex) partner made a last minute reservation for this place for our anniversary. I called and they were able to confirm that they would validate parking (I think it was either 2 or 3 hours) in the Mariott lot, which is the hotel they are attached to. We ended up doing street parking as it was right there and happened to be available. Upon arrival, they asked us if we would like indoor or outdoor seating. They were bustling with business and it was very lively for a rainy night. We choose indoor and they took a few minutes to get our table arranged then we were seated. What we ordered: * Calamari Fritti: 10/10, light, crispy, and not chewy at all. Pretty salty but a good start * Free Bread: 8/10, their bread is super fluffy and delicious. They gave me more later during the meal which I devoured. I didn't really care for the olive oil it was crusted with so I would pick it off hah. * Tagliata Di Manzo: 9/10, perfectly done medium rare steak (in my opinin). The fries were decent, it reminded me of McDonalds fries (in a good way). Also I'm unsure why but the steak just felt like it was so small, almost less than 8oz ( but I did not have a scale so I really wouldn't know). * Spaghetti Ai Ricci Di Mare: 10/10, this was the star of the show as it was the main reason we decided to come to arancino. This uni pasta was creamy and packed with the uni's umami flavor. I was mopping the sauce clean towards the end of the meal with my bread & fries. * Free Tiramisu: 9/10. Super nice (not so surprising) surprise at the end. With a cute "Happy Anniversray" message written and a small piece of tiramisu (and chocolate). What a great way to end the meal. The tiramisu was light, yet creamy and decadent. During our meal, there was a photographer walking around Arancino and taking pictures for tables. They did an amazing job and some of the photos came out perfect. They even gave us a complimentary photo, although it wasn't our favorite of the bunch, it still felt above and beyond, exceeding my expectations of my experience.

Staff was attentive, drink was great (Di Mare), and it was good Italian spot to hit up for any occasion. It's a smaller portion sizes but it's still good food.

Words can't describe how grateful we are to have found this spot after being disappointed by many Waikiki restaurants. Monday evening I set a res for four same day and luckily they had space. The restaurant was packed and we had an outdoor table. We ordered the -pizza carbonara: mandatory egg yolk makes this even richer. perf comfort/carb food -carpaccio di capesante: scallop sashimi was so fresh! Wish it had more dressing though -spaghetti ai ricci di mare: easily my fav uni pasta I've tried in my life so far. somehow felt light and so easy to eat -tiramisu: standard and somehow properly soaked, usually tiramisu can be kind of dry at restaurants but I appreciate this one Tried the arancino drink as well, so refreshing! The complimentary foccacia is amazing as well. Perfectly fluffy and topped with oil. Our server was so friendly and service was fast too. Looking forward to the next time I'm in the area just to come back here.

Came here and had such a delicious meal! Had veggie pasta with creamy tomato sauce. A delicious salad and a very good caprese salad with their delicious garlic bread. Service was good, and the restaurant was cute. Can't wait to come back!

This restaurant was one of the top places on my list to try in Honolulu! I loved it so much the first time, I came back again the year after. I love the wide variety of unique pasta dishes they offer and the service is pretty quick. The ambience is very nice sitting along the street and taking in the slight ocean air. I do recommend getting a reservation since the spot fills up quick during dinner time!

Came here with the family for dinner because the reviews were good. We reserved a reservation on open table and were seated within 10min of our arrival. Our server was both kind and attentive. Here's what we ordered. Meat lovers pizza: 8/10 love the thin crust but it was a little soggy and could have had more toppings for the size and costs. Seafood pasta: 9/10 the flavor was delicious Bolognese pasta: 9/10 a little on the salty side but delicious Cesar salad: 8/10 dressed well but croutons tasted store bought. Spicy arabiatta: 8/10 a little greasy and chicken was cubbed. For $10 extra, it was maybe a few cubs. Should be grilled and at least a decent portion. Overall, portions are small for the prices. I would say overall 8/10. The focaccia bread was good 8/10.

3.5 stars for Arancino di Mare in Honolulu. I was excited to try it based on all the hype, but it didn't quite live up to expectations. The pasta was definitely delicious, but not the best I've ever had -- solid flavors, but nothing that blew me away. The atmosphere leans very touristy and commercialized, especially with a photographer walking around offering to take and sell photos during your meal, which takes away from any chance of an intimate or fine dining vibe. That said, the service was fast and genuinely kind. The staff was very helpful in explaining the menu and guiding us through dishes we weren't familiar with, which we really appreciated. It's definitely more of a casual group dinner spot than a romantic date night location. I'm glad we tried it once, but with so many other great places to eat in Honolulu, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return.

The uni pasta was absolutely delicious. I've never tried sea urchin before and was skeptical but my God! If this would be the last pasta I ever ate I'd be completely ok with that. Calamari was delicious too. Light, fresh and crispy

But the ambiance is dim, semi-private, on-theme, and cozy yet lively. There's a bar area as well as the dining area where we sat. Service was fine. We were checked on periodically, but the food did take quite some time to come out. We shared some pupus, off their happy hour menu. We got the Smashed Cucumbers, House Karaage, and Sinigang Fries. The cucumbers weren't spicy, even though they were listed as spicy. It was more oily, but still crisp and refreshing. The fries were perfect for snacking on, with a nice sour-savory flavor from the sinigang. The karaage was extremely big! Not too crispy like usual, but still meaty. We also asked for six, but only received five pieces. My friend got the Lamb Ribs as well, which fell off the bone, and she seemed to enjoy them. My other friend and I shared the Ulu Taco Flight. We chose Suadero, Pork Belly, and Seafood as our protein. I enjoyed the seafood; it was lobster. It was sweet and mild but nicely cooked. The aioli was a nice addition. The pork belly was fine; it was quite spicy, which was a bit overpowering. My friend who had the beef taco said the wagyu was great but also quite spicy. The tacos themselves were quite small for the price. Overall, if you're into speakeasies or curious, Vintage Books is worth a visit at least once. The food is creative, and the drinks are good. Glad I could come and hang out with my friends. Find them on the ground floor. Parking is validated in the building; give your ticket to the host.

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.
