For reasons left unclear by the Chef De Village, Chief of Sports, Pickleball GOs, the Business Manager, and others working at Club Med Cancun, the once exceptional tennis program, managed by the amazing Javier, was, quite simply, ERASED. There were once seven tennis courts, and a robust, well run tennis program filled with morning clinics and afternoon tournaments. Today, there are zero tennis courts and zero tennis programs, both replaced by ten pickleball courts and a youth water park. Our family, who loves to play tennis was told to "go to Punta Cana and Columbus Isle if you want to play tennis." Sadly, Club Med Cancun was once considered by many who frequent Club Meds across the world as the crown jewel of all Club Med resorts. At one time, I would have happily awarded this club five stars. But today, with the total decimation, eradication, and elimination of all seven tennis courts, as well as the elimination of it's once vaunted water skiing program, I award Club Med Cancun, ZERO STARS. The pickleball program is also vastly understaffed, as often 40 people show up for morning clinics run on two courts, and supervised by only one professional. There should be four professionals, and four courts used for lessons. Instead there is one professional trying to manage 40 GMs on two courts. The beach volleyball program is also vastly understaffed, and poorly run, with often 30-40 people showing up to play at either 11:00am or 4:00pm, with one professional supervising. That professional selects four captains who each select five players to compete on their team, leaving roughly 15-20 people without a team, and unable to play. The tragedy of the brutally eliminated tennis program, water ski program, and understaffed pickleball and volleyball programs, is that Club Med, now run by a Chinese conglomerate, is all about making money. And money they make, as Club Med Cancun is raking in more money than any other Club Med resort in the world. But at what cost? Those wanting to play tennis can't do so because tennis courts take up too much space, seemingly better utilized by more people playing pickleball. This club is filling planes with Canadian pickleball players for whom additional courts are reserved between the hours of 9:00-11:00am. And so if you're not Canadian and want to play pickleball during those hours, good luck! Over-all, for our family, the club felt severely overcrowded. The GOs seemed massively overworked. There were zero answers to our questions about not having even ONE tennis court which could be used recreationally during the day for families who enjoy playing tennis. Instead, a huge outdoor basketball court was built near the circus program, WHICH IS NEVER IN USE. I'm sorry, but Club Med Cancun, let alone ANY resort catering to families wanting to participate in various racquet sports doesn't deserve even ONE star until which time you have AT LEAST ONE TENNIS COURT AVAILABLE FOR PEOPLE WHO ENJOY PLAYING TENNIS ON THEIR VACATION. Finally, having vacationed at over 20 different Club Meds all over the world, I find the decision to simply ELIMINATE AN ENTIRE SPORT, AND FACILITIES TO RUN THAT SPORT horribly insensitive, wrong, and cruel. And so I award CLUB MED CANCUN Zero stars in my review, and ask the parent company to rethink it's previous decision to decimate, eradicate, and destroy an entire sport and once thriving program, simply because doing so RAKES IN MORE MONEY. I urge the new parent company to build at least one tennis court at Club Med Cancun, so those of us who enjoy playing tennis, can do so. I traveled to club med with my extended family recently including 2 children with special needs. Staff at the taco arte restaurant went incredibly out of their way to help us during our trip. Some members of our group are vegan and they made a special meal for us each day, including a special vegan birthday cake! Audrey (manager) was AMAZING and helped to secure us reservations there every night, as the dinner buffet was not accessible for us given my children's needs. She also checked in every day to see if there was anything we needed, and how things were going. The morning staff Maria and afternoon staff member Hector also went out of their way to make sure we had a good experience- my son asked for them by name each day, they made him feel very special. The beach in front of the main area was wonderful, very blue clear water and great to play and swim. It is quite a steep drop down in parts. The beach in front of our rooms unfortunately was filled with seaweed due to the record breaking seaweed in the area- we felt so lucky that club med had multiple beach fronts. My children really enjoyed the water slides at the newly built water park area. I just wish there was more shade there. The kids club wasn't usable for my older child due to support needs- we went by a couple times and the staff for the 6-8 age group seemed ok but not as wonderful as the staff for the younger groups. My younger child liked kids club but did get sunburnt while there. I wish that the activities such as archery and trapeeze had more family hours available- the short 1 hour time block for each age to do all 3 activities wasn't sufficient for my children to be able to enjoy them, and it is very difficult for a family with multiple aged children- it really seems geared towards family whose children can utilize the kids club. The staff member running the archery was kind, but the staff running the trapeeze acted as though we were a hassle. The king bed in the room has a very large divot in the middle making sleeping uncomfortable. read more

35° and no where available between 2:15 PM and 6:30 PM that has air conditioning except for my room... 10:30 AM, accidentally drank (unlabelled) sangria (looks like fruit punch), was beside lemonade, bartender didn't give as f*ck. General vibe from staff is "I don't care", "I'm not interested". To be fair, this is Mexico and I don't think any of this should be a surprise. But it was.... I just will not pay so much for this experience again. Keep your money, stay elsewhere for same experience but for less $$$... read more

Let's start by saying staff are nice and work very hard. It is rare that I give a bad review on my travel but I truly believe this is an executive and ownership issue. The food was awful and the room was sticky and smelly I understand humidity in the Gulf I have traveled in the US Navy visiting countries around the world and I have traveled as a father and spouse to many countries. I know what luxury and delicious food is. Club Med has a critical issue with food that only corporate ownership can remediate. Now there were attempts made to improve our experience but I declined those offers we had to leave or our vacation would have been ruined. I suppose this could have been a bad week for Club med. Hands up, baby! Haut les mains! Crazy signs are always a hit at Club Med! On chante, on danse, on fait des rencontres merveilleuses! Food is good, sans plus! Except for the two fancy gals evenings. If you enjoy Mexican cuisine, it is fresh and abundant but little variety, otherwise. A moins d'adorer frites, hamburgers, croquettes de poulet et hot dogs...Kids are super happy. Activities are plentiful, G. O.s are fun, knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around. Shoutouts to Mr. Pijama (archery) , Wanny (fitness) and John (sailing). We had a lovely family vacation here! The resort is beautiful and the rooms were perfect for a family of 5. The pool and beach were amazing! Water that was so calm and great for little kiddos! We enjoyed the food and drinks and crepes! The staff were all amazing including the kids club staff and people who put on the shows each day. We loved the shows at night and all the restaurants! It was hard to get a reservation for dinner at the steak house but otherwise we would love to be back! Great services including laundry, room cleaning and transportation! read more

Food is very important to me when going to an all inclusive resort. Club Med falls really short on food and liquor. Let's start with the liquor. With all the basic all inclusive package, it only includes draft beer (either Dos Equis Amber or Lager). It was pathetic. The beer was really gross. If you get the draft beer, it gets immediately warm as the outside temperature is obviously warm. The regular mixed drinks were disgusting as they use bottom shelf liquor. The better liquor is of course an additional cost. The food choices are really lame. You can eat at La Estancia, Taco Arte, The Hacienda, or La Creperie as part of the all inclusive. La Estancia was okay, but only if you ordered the correct meat. La Estanica is their Argentian restaurant that requires reservations. Taco Arte, which is much closer to the Aquamarina area, was also not so great either. The food during dinner is served as family style. La Creperie serves terrible unhealthy snacks such as hot dogs and fries. Finally, the only thing that was okay was The Hacienda, which is their buffet. At times, it was difficult to get a drink at the table. Also, the food was essentially the same day in and day out. I don't know where to begin, it's a whirlwind, surreal experience. It's like camp for adults or whole families, or like a cruise on land. Except even better than a ship, because you have a great beach, snorkeling, water skiing, acrobatics and much more. The food is fun, but not great. At the buffet the huge variety of food looks very different, but all tastes kind of the same. No better spot for teens than Cancun Club Med. So many activities, from morning to night. Came here on our annual boys trip. Four childhood friends with a total of 9 boys 16-18. Soccer tournaments, basketball tournaments, beach sports (soccer, volleyball...). Snorkeling, pickleball, Bocci Ball, mini golf, archery, trapeze and more. In the pool: basketball and small nets for water polo. And the small things. Poker table, backgammon, chess sets, giant jenga.... And the place is so safe, just let them roam around. They always found their way to meals and back to the rooms. Other than the above, food, free drinks, snacks in the pool, and other things. But then again, you find that in many places. Its the keep the boys occupied and engaged morning to night is what made this place special. Shut out to Tarik. Kids loved him. He was chilled yet engaging. Our family had a very enjoyable experience at Club Med Cancun. We initially booked this because it had everything we wanted which was all inclusive and activities for the kids. During our time there, we ended up all hanging out together....going to the beach and pool. Our kids didn't do any of the activities so I can't speak to those but they looked like fun. We had a blast each evening during the live music and events in the theater! The Michael Jackson one was probably my favorites. The staff were very nice and we really enjoyed the food. We stayed in the Aquamarina section and it was perfect for a family of four because we had a room for us and for the kids(2 adults, 2 kids). The beach area was kept very clean as well as the pools. I will say if you stay at the Aquamarina, you will want to go to the main area to be on the beach. Another good thing....their golf carts! They run constantly which is nice because the resort is spread out and you don't want to walk it all of the time. But it literally takes 5 minutes or less anywhere you want to go and you get to see the beautiful ocean and scenery as you ride. It was also fun to see the iguanas that run along the paths. CLUB MED CANCUN ABSOLUTELY RUINED OUR FAMILY TRIP AND MY HUSBAND'S BIRTHDAY! This used to be our favorite all inclusive resort, but it's been 10 years since we have been back and we will LITERALLY NEVER come back again. 1. Food has gone downhill 100%, this is a French based club and the food, for buffet style, used to be very good. Now... absolutely not!!!!! 2. Spent over $400 for spa services for our two daughters, where they made us go back and forth from the spa to the front desk to pay because our credit card was not on their room, then they claimed they didn't charge us enough and came banging on our children's door saying they owed money. Totally was their mistake for not writing the correct amount on the receipt, but kept hounding our girls with visits to their room while we were off the resort playing golf. 3. Because the the food was soooooo bad, we would sign up for the specialty restaurants, but they only allow you to sign up the morning of, and unfortunately there are only two, plus one for an extra cost. The two that didn't cost was a tapas restaurant which had terrible service and the Argentinian restaurant literally burned all the food! 4. Out last night there for my husband's birthday I woke up early to sign up for the Bodega restaurant, the one that costs. I also asked about ordering a cheesecake for his birthday. The guy at reservations said they had space for our whole family at 7:30, asked for my room number and asked for my cell number so he could call me for the cost of the cake. This was at 8:30 in the morning, at 11:00 he called my back to tell me it would be $50.00 for the cake. I thought this was a little steep considering this is all inclusive and they have cheesecake almost everyday at the dessert buffet!! Total ripoff! Well, the 10 of us all show up at the Bodega restaurant to pay $120.00 per person to eat for my husband's birthday dinner, after getting dressed up, flat ironing my hair and getting my elderly parents to the restaurant for them to tell us they didn't have reservations for us!!!!! Still don't know what the hell happened but it literally ruined our last night and his birthday evening. Then to make up for it, they told us they would bring us a nice bottle of wine up to the buffet restaurant, they would not seat us at the Bodega, then guess what bottle they brought us... Chateau st. Michelle, really? A $17.00 bottle, they had a Jordan wine, but their mistake was only worth St. Michelle, thanks Club Med! 5. Years ago the alcohol used to be close to top shelf, now it's the worst shit to ever put in your mouth, EXCEPT if you want to pay a fortune at the Bodega restaurant for the top shelf alcohol. Which we would have done had we had the chance to eat there! 6. The air conditioner in the rooms was so bad, it was so humid the sheets always felt wet and the room never cooled down. 7. Almost forgot, before we even got to the resort, we got and email stating they didn't have a first floor room, which I was adamant about for my elderly mother who uses a walker, has a bad heart and is obese and specifically told the club med agent we needed a first floor for her. So after an hour and a half on the phone with a club med agent, they put in our file that it was medically necessary and we did end up getting a first floor for her, thank goodness. The only positive I have is for the excursion office, they were great, we loved our golf days we booked and the horseback riding/cenotes excursion called Rancho Bonanza. This was our VERY LAST family trip with my elderly parents , we will NEVER get this trip back again and we have such a bad taste in our mouth, I'm so very sad, this is not the resort I remember! My family just got back from spending 10 days in club med Cancun and all I can say is we miss it already! Waterskiing/wakeboarding: my husband and I spent almost all day at the doc waterskiing and wakeboarding! The instructors there are sooooooooo good (it's unreal) themselves and teach so well. I probably asked the same questions 20 times and they always had a smile on their face and would answer all of them. If you get into it, you end up spending your days there and many of the skiers (guests @ Hôtel) become friends! Huge shout outs to my fave instructors: Hugo, Hugues and Heidi!! Kids club: My kids (ages 4 & twins who are 3) were not the ones that ran to kids club with excitement. However, after the separation and 10 minutes being there, they absolutely loved it. The only reason I was able to convince them to go to kids club initially is because they would play with James!! James is incredible with kids - he encourages them to be the best they can be (improving their basketball, swimming skills etc). Sara Poster, family manager, is your main point of contact if you have kids. She made sure my kids (and I am sure everyone else's kids) were happy at kids club! She would send pics/videos to keep me up to date :) She is fantastic, responsive and gets things done! Baby sitters: As for baby sitters there is one baby sitter that ran away from us and cancelled on the first day because she said she couldn't handle 3 kids after spending 20 minutes with them (fair, at least she was honest). She mentioned she is used to baby sitting kids when they are already sleeping - we booked her at 530pm (my kids go to bed later). The second baby sitter who we had the rest of the week was incredible - her name is Sara as well (not sure the last name). Entertainment: you will never ever be bored! There is so much entertainment from morning till 2am (if not longer) from foam parties, music, dancing etc. there is also 2 shows one for kids @ 815 and one for adults @10pm. Thanks for everything - asst chief of village - Yanis! Your energy is addictive and I am literally still dancing on my flight back! Food: Great! Especially for those that eat meat, fish etc. Areas of improvement: if you need something from reception quickly don't bother calling them it will takes ages for them to bring something up (if they ever do). Just as an FYI, this review is ONLY for an adult, neurotypical experience of the resort. We also have a son who has ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder). I did a specific review for the resort as a parent of an ASD child, which you may be interested in because I *highly caution* taking an ASD young person to this resort. You can read it on my blog at https://momoftheseasons.com/. We booked a seven-day all-inclusive stay with Club Med, from Sunday to Sunday. We also splurged on the more expensive room (the Superior) with a beach view. When we left the airport, we had trouble locating the driver which was chartered by Club Med to drive us to the resort, about 20 minutes away. We finally located the Club Med rep behind the Margaritaville Bar, outside the airport where transportation arrives/departs. He was wearing a Club Med polo shirt and holding a clipboard. After we asked if he was the driver to the resort, he searched the list and we were confirmed. No person was holding a name sign, like you always wanted, secretly. ;) We were welcomed upon arrival with water with cucumber and lime, a tour of the resort, and finally to our room on the 3rd floor. When we arrived at the room, I was disappointed by the condition. We discovered quickly that the toilet was broken. We had to call for help before our bags were delivered. Plus, despite this being a "superior" room, the provided toiletries were abysmal. For example, the shampoo was a "shampoo and conditioner". Make sure to bring all of your own, including the hair dryer. Also, the daybed, which was a long crushed velvet sofa, was extremely hot to sleep on and didn't come with any sheets (for our son). When we asked for some sheets, we received towels instead (we don't speak Spanish which made asking for specific things a bit challenging). We got so little sleep due to the inadequate cooling of the room I started to feel insane. The all-inclusive included access to a breakfast-to-dinner buffet was an unhappy experience. I was disappointed at how spotty and inconsistent the food, drink, and the staff was. Sometimes we would get served water, but only at dinner for some reason. We either had to find it ourselves or specifically request it (in a disposable coffee cup, no less), while sometimes it was provided in a goblet with ice and provided refills by the staff. This was the same with the house red and white wine and coffee. Sometimes you got a refill, other times you had to hunt it down or just give up altogether. One breakfast I requested coffee with cream and the creamer was actually curdled *in* the container. I didn't notice it until I poured it and it fell into curds. I didn't get a new coffee. The food ranged from decent to low-end and lousy. Considering that the buffet was our kitchen for each day outside of reservations, the quality was a very big deal and this did not deliver at all. The provided bar drinks were incredibly frustrating. They were so weak I felt like I was having sparkling flavored water or a tangy smoothie. I only ever felt a pleasant buzz on the house red wine, when I actually got it. Finally, and extremely important, the Club Mini Med "childcare" for kids was an absolute joke. It was a small, fenced-in, claustrophobic area with a tiki hut and two splash pad places with water slides and other forgettable things. It actually looked like an add-on. It resembled a low-end daycare that you're regretful to leave your kids at when you were flat broke. We -never- used it even though we thought it would be a great option for our son. In addition, the kids in Mini-Med were frequently being led around by the supervising adults (who looked pretty unenthused) shouting things. We couldn't figure it out but they were just walking around yelling and/or singing things for some reason, like a parade, but lacking all joy. Everything was either in French or Spanish, which was the majority of the resort demographic overall. We found out later that the room had ants and fruit flies/gnats in the toilet room. My husband had something mysterious land in his lap while in there that went skittering off, unapologetically. At the end of it all, due to additional circumstances that I have outlined in detail in my blog, we had to leave the resort and return home on the third day. Just for added frustration, the Cancun airport suddenly demanded that everyone inside wear a mask to go through security and charged everyone for it. We paid $20 for 3 paper masks. Right- it was required, but none were free or provided. A nice added bonus to a great holiday. I do not recommend this resort unless you're after the excursions and care little about anything else. I came to Club Med Cancun with my family of 13 and it's a good all inclusive resort but there are things I would also change about it as well. Club Med is known all around the world, so if they have a good rapport why aren't the rooms equipped with good beds and safe bath tubs for seniors? These are just a few of the things I think could be better about this resort that has a good name around the world. Also, I learned some of the rooms have mold from someone complaining at the front desk. Club Med=Club Mold, not a good image guys. I know there are cleaners daily but ours also clogged up our toilet while cleaning, only to have the maintenance guys come to our room while we were there. Also don't get me started on the room change the day after I arrived here. The GO's are nice and live at the resort. So they try to get to know you since they work and live here. They also do the night time 9:30 performances. I say those performances were average, I've seen better. The performances range from a Michael Jackson show to trapeze shows. Don't get me wrong there are some good things about the resort like they always have activities to do from morning until night. For instance, at 12 PM there is aquatics workout lessons at the pool area. Then there could be a foam party at the beach the next day. I did boot camp on the beach with my husband and it was a but much for both of us. I also learned to dance professionally from my second husband, the GO working there Richard. Sorry hubs, I didn't mean to look good dancing with him and not you there! If your looking for an all inclusive resort for the entire family from kids to adults this is your resort. There is always something to do and plenty of food as well! you can either go to La Hacienda or La Estancia for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food changes each day at La Hacienda but at Estancia it stays the same. Altogether, you get a lot for your money here. read more

Club Med Cancun - Ill equipped to manage bad weather First, let me start by saying that I do not blame Club Med Cancun for bad weather. It is simply out of their control and this write up is not a complaint about weather. However, I live by the mantra that you realize one's character in the face of adversity, and Club Med's leadership character showed clearly that they are lacking on all counts in the face of bad weather. Quite frankly, they should be fired. I chose to spend my money here ($7500 for the week plus another $1000 for kids clubs and $3750 for flights for family) and that does not give me any special rights or privileges, but in what I thought was a world class resort, turned out to be false advertisement. Let me list all of the ways: 1. Room smells like a mold-filled musty basement. When I inquired about it, they sent over a re-humidifier. Now that may help remove moisture, but it did nothing for the smell. I asked if they had a scented candle or something and the answer was no. Now, even more important than the smell, is the concern that there are mold spores in the room and what potential health issues is the causing my family and 4 toddlers after a week. 2. Dangerous wet conditions - (Understand it is raining and has been for 4 days). The tiles they use here in Mexico are smooth and very slippery when it rains. My toddlers have fallen several times on these slippery tiles throughout hotel and even on our back porch. The hotel seems to not be prepared for rain as they don't have any slip resistant carpets or material set down to reduce risk. Instead they keep squeegee-ing the floors and seem to have given up. Again, this is very dangerous and I am surprised that management has not done anything to fix this. It's been four days. 3. Hotel lacking basic service nor can they accommodate guests with basic needs. -Hotel didn't have a wine opener for wine we purchased at their hotel - maid says they don't have any (but my wife didn't know I had one and picked it up from a previous maid earlier.). Someone please explain this. -Basic hygienic needs... no staff could tell us where to get feminine products for my wife. -No room service for food whatsoever. -No outbound calling... from room. I also ran into problem and asked front desk if I could use their phone because my cell service was not working properly either. The answer was "no". -Not able to handle basic internal calls - Called the hotel operator and it takes several tries to get them to answer. In this instance, one of several it took me 7 tries at 10pm to get the hotel operator to answer. -Sport facilities lacking as promised - Volleyball on the beach court. One flat and popped. The other is soaked and water weighted so bad it was unusable. Staff had no idea how to solve the problem. I had to find the Shavon myself to see there were no other volleyballs available. - No working ATM on premises??! 4. Staff not knowledgeable about much - Most of the staff knew very little about their facility. I kept getting sent to the wrong places for things. 5. Only two restaurants on property. We were brought on believe that there were 7 or to 8 restaurants on site (it is marketed that way on website). In reality, there is only one restaurant and it requires a reservation which one will find it booked for several days. -What I found interesting is that the staff said to book the restaurant every evening that was open and you don't have to show. If someone cancels, the system doesn't mark it as open either... so reservation is wasted where another couple or family could have used it. 6. You have a tag for everything but have to hand a card to get a beach towel? Seems a bit bizarre in an all inclusive hotel. Where are the guests going to take the towels? 7. Wifi is horribly slow. I get faster service from cell My family will never return to this facility and will more than likely never trust Club Med anywhere else either. I could have listed a bunch more problems I saw, but it is now becoming redundant. This place is mismanaged and I would highly recommend other places and all-inclusive resorts to spend your hard earned money. One last thing, speaking of "all-inclusive"... hardly. Their staff spend more time selling you on excursions and other things to up-sell you. If you think you paid your last dollar in advance, think again. Transportation is also not included from hotel to airport and vice versa. I have asked for a meeting with the general manager and he/she has yet to call. This review will be easy. EVERYONE I mean EVERYONE there was so welcoming. All the wonderful employees at the resort are just fantastic which made for a super first time at a Club Med. It's like being on a cruise ship and being treated like a king all the time All remembered our names. Must be a training thing like working at the post office with addresses. Food is great at Taco Arte and La Hacienda. Food is not so great at La Estancia where they served us vs. buffet style at the others mentioned above. Tennis was fun and everyone great as usual. Sailing was fun even though my lesson before still didn't prepare me for a correct return. My fault. I thought I was going to float to Cuba. No worries I figured it out all the while they are watching us from shore with binoculars and a power boat to rescue if needed. Snorkeling was super. Best spot though not the main one where you get the gear for free is....shhhhh. It's a secret if you have your own gear (which I recommend highly) is Just to the left of restaurant Taco Arte near the reef. Thank me later! Iguanas, iguanas everywhere. Some fatties. Very cool. Want to see crocs. Which we found out later is near the mangroves near 6,000 or 7,000 buildings. Best beach to hang out and swim is the main one which is close to the bar which is important if you like tequila. It is near the check in office to your right. Rooms are clean and adequate. I seriously wish I had paid the extra bucks for the upstairs ocean view. Tip)))When you get off the plane ignore the dudes trying to pretend to be from Club Med trying to sell you stuff including a ride to the airport. Look for a sign saying CLUB MED for your free ride to the resort. Use the free no tip required for helpers who will help you check in to your airline on your return! No stress. Though you will need your documents of course. I went on the tour to Chicha Itza. (Sp?) All day trip. 2hr drive up and back. Almost a requirement when visiting. Next best thing to the pyramids. Amazing but a tiring trip for sure. Overall, an amazing time. Not sure I'll go back when it's busy. Only 158 people during covid time in the entire resort. Enjoy! read more

Hi all, this is a review for Club Med overall, as we never were able to make it on our trip. I'm sure this property would have been great, but that amount of hurdles we went through just sent up so many red flags. I think knowing what I know now I would have booked a different property for a trip to Cancun due to the customer services with Club Med USA, poor website interface and limited contact with the actual property. I could write a lovely multipage experience book here, but let's face it none of us have the attention span for that these days. A few points that made me feel like it was important to write a review for others: Customer Service: A mistake was made with my son's name on the reservation for flights and property that I noticed immediately. I called the customer service line and it was closed. Sent an email and no answer. They run on East Coast hours and are only open for a period of time which seems odd for a costumer service handling flights for people. Once I got ahold of them, I was told there was absolutely nothing that could be done but buy a new flight through Club Med for an outrageous price and most likely my husband and I as well unless my 2 year old wanted to fly alone (so many visuals filled my mind with that one). I called United Airlines myself and the name was fixed for zero cost in 5 minutes. This story is actually so much longer but I'll end it there. My husband and I ended up getting very ill right before we were supposed to leave. I was in the hospital literally hours before the flight, so we were not going to make it. Also, we had so many hiccups with this reservation and company, I was hesitant to suck it up and board a flight since if something else happened, I'd most likely be told the new famous motto of "there's nothing we can do". Due to the limited customer service hours, I had no one to contact and we had arranged transportation to pick us up early in the morning (no one needs to sit and wait for the family that is not arriving). I tried calling the hotel, who was kind, but you can tell are not familiar at all with helping customers with their reservation issues. They also let me know there was nothing they could do. Lastly, when I finally got ahold of costumer service in the morning when they opened, they told me once again, there's nothing they can do, I would lose all my money for the room as well as the flights with no options for credits, reimbursement or rescheduling. Thankfully I learned my lesson the first time and had already called United Airlines directly and they were very helpful and gave us travel credits. If I had not done that and listened to Club Med, I would have been out thousands of dollars. Customer service was also strangely cheerful when I mentioned that I had a medical emergency and was now cancelling, then she put me on hold. Never an "I'm sorry to hear that, let me help you with your trip, I hope you feel better", which just seems like basic customer service training and it almost felt like more of a slap in the face. I think when United Airlines customer services blows Club Med out of the water, there's some serious reflecting that needs to happen. Last thing! I Promise! The website interface and app made it difficult to actually see what you had booked or modify bookings without calling my fave customer service line. I had hoped to adjust a scuba diving reservation as well as gain more info on Petite Mini Club Med for my son, but it was very limited. I also noticed that the website doesn't work well on a smartphone, but the app has even less information on it. Ok, that's it. I'm sure this property is a lot of fun and we had dreamed of going for years so this experience is a tough pill to swallow. I think the risk of any slight change or modification and the poor costumers support is just not worth it for us. read more

If you're looking for a stress-free getaway, look no further than Club Med Cancun. This resort gives you plenty of relaxing/recreational bang for your buck! This is my second time at the Club Med Cancun. My 1st time here was 15 years ago. Since then, the resort has undergone a significant, elegant face-lift. Seriously - this place has gone high end. Pros: - Pristine beaches - Clean, comfortable rooms - Friendly staff - All-inclusive food + drinks - A plethora of outdoor activities (everything from tennis/pickle-ball to scuba diving to archery). - Daily/Nightly entertainment (their Michael Jackson tribute show is a hoot!). - The resort is only a 15 minute drive from the airport. - Since it's all-inclusive, there's no need for a wallet (though I would highly recommend tipping your servers/housekeepers at the end of your stay!). - Top-notch spa. I had one of the best massages ever here. Cons: - The food here can be a little hit-or-miss. My recommendation would be to stick with the Mexican grub (tacos, chilaquiles + freshly squeezed juices + chocolate bread for breakfast). Their Taco Artes restaurant serves higher quality food than their main cafeteria. - Don't come expecting high quality margaritas. The spirits here are very low-end, and cocktails are mostly watered-down or full of yucky mixers. All in all, I had a wonderful stay here. And I would come back here in a heartbeat. read more

We spent a week here and had a great time. The weather was perfect, the water was great, and the group we went with were fantastic. This is an older resort which needs some updates and they are working on that. The Room: ocean view off the reef but a ton of updates are needed. The lights didn't work in the hall and the sliding door was stuck and wouldn't lock. Maintenance fixed the issues in a timely manner though. The Food: the buffet was great! Fresh food and juices for all types of diets and 95% of it was excellent. I wouldn't say that it was high end grade but it was good. There are two restaurants on campus, a Mexican place and a steak house. Both were underwhelming. The Mexican place had a weak menu and the steak house served thin cuts. My friend at the beef carpaccio and got quite ill. Plus I noticed that all the appetizers were pre made and sitting out for a while as I walked around. Not good for raw meat. The staff: Excellent people work here. Very friendly and they go out of their way to make sure all your needs are met. The Drinks: typical well fare for all inclusive and most of the bartenders make the drinks as strong as battery acid. Only dos xx and dos xx Amber are included in the all inclusive. Overall it was a good time! Was I blown away? No. This is a family friendly resort with a ton of kids around. I think I prefer less of that to be honest. Would I go back? Sure, if the price was right. It definitely does not warrant 1600 per person so if you can obtain a discount, do so. read more

Bought a day pass to check out this property and we were not disappointed. Multiple pools, fresh fruit alcohol drinks, transportation between property pools, check in staff ver friendly and helpful. Unfortunately high winds prevented snorkeling in the main area but kayaking was available. Very enjoyable experience here for the day. read more

Been to this resort over ten times, and it's never disappointed. The scenery/beach/lush grounds are absolutely stunning. The staff all works like crazy to ensure we're well taken care of. A special shout out to the bar staff. My group of friends, well, let's just say we enjoy our drinks. And the bar staff BROUGHT IT; party after party, day after day, hour after hour, with speed, efficiency, and courtesy. A special shout-out to JEAN-LUC whose expertly crafted specialty cocktails of the day brought life to our parties. And he tirelessly served them up with a smile and greeted me by name. His frozen beverages were nuanced with real fruit, and not overly sweet, but still packed a punch! Can't say enough good things. Looking forward to my next visit to Cancún, Club Med. read more

Known to some as Club Mold, we coined a new term: Club Confused. Everyone here is confused, untrained, unqualified, or simply doesn't care. The food is mediocre at best. We had undercooked bacon, salmon, mold on strawberries, a fly in soup, a piece of metallic plastic (like from the top of a kid's juice box) in a salad. When my fiancé showed the "chef " the uncooked salmon his first response was that's from the sushi bar. Ah no. Fiancé brought him to food station to show him. Often food was extremely bland. They had a deli meat called "turkey of ham" it looked disgusting. Fiancé could not eat it. No one cares here. Our mojitos were sometimes good other times terrible. There is no consistency here. My fiancé had to go show the bartender how to muddle the mint to make a proper mojito. Bartender has never been shown here. They let whoever work here and provide zero training. Our drink orders were gotten wrong daily both at the beach and during meal times. We couldn't deal with the food situation after a few days so skipped lunch opting for fruit instead. Then we were starving at dinner. You may starve here the food is so bad. We left premises twice for dinner we were so in need of decent food. Our room smelled musty. We just got acclimated to it. I don't even want to know what mold could be behind the walls, etc. When we first arrived they told us we had two rooms booked. The person checking us in couldn't resolve the issue which I thought was a non issue since you pay at an all inclusive by number of guests and not number of rooms. We wanted to see their reasoning because obviously I wasn't going to pay for a room My fiancé and I weren't using nor had booked. It took talking to two other managers and 3 days before they clarified what I had thought all along - it's not about rooms it's a cost per person. They don't train anyone here so you can never have anything resolved quickly nevertheless in the moment. The physical structures all over the grounds are in disrepair and crumbling. The place is in need of some serious TLC. I overheard a couple on first floor complain that there was flooding - collected water - in their room. Fortunately we were on 2nd floor and didn't have this issue. Add in that our safe wasn't working when we arrived. A repair person repaired it but it was wonky the entire time - we had to aggressively tap it each time several times to open or close, 4 or 5 times almost calling front desk to have yet another repair person come. Additionally it says our room came with a tea kettle - it didn't. In summary, spend your money elsewhere or be ready for a mediocre at best experience at Club Confused. We won't come back here and we won't recommend to any friends. read more

I really wanted to give this more stars. Started off great it really did minus a minor leak in my room that they fixed within seconds. We stayed in the Jade area. Staff at that pool was INCREDIBLE. Remembered you named drink (that were weak), so nice just awesome. Cristel was incredibly helpful for all of our needs. There was a hurricane while we were down there and I do have to say they handled it great. Made sure we had food, were ok and tried to keep everything clean also offered us a free day at any club med to make up for not being able to leave our rooms.Nightly entertainment was fantastic especially the Mayan show. The staff on top of being nice is very talented. Now the cons. Food was really not good especially for an all inclusive to the point several people in my party got food poisoning.The best I had was chicken nuggets and french fries all week which while I love those I expect better on vacation. A few of us had money/credit cards stolen from our rooms on our last night which definitely put a damper on things. Wouldn't say it was the worst vacation but definitely not the best. The resort itself wasnt bad, beautiful views but could definitely use some upgrades/modernizations. Especially things like elevators. read more

I am currently sitting on the deck of the Taco Arte or some shit restaurant under an umbrella enjoying the warm breeze from the ocean. This particular restaurant has a 180 view of the ocean. Every day for breakfast and lunch I eat overlooking the water. Paradise. I came by myself for 5 days/4 nights during a week off I have from my horrific job. Let me summarize my stay so far: I arrived at around 1pm. It was so humid that my jeans literally became my outermost layer of skin of my legs. I got the run down from reception. You need to pay around $400 by credit card when you arrive to put money on this bracelet that becomes your room key. You can use this at the boutique, not sure where else you would. It didn't seem like an option and I was a little bit surprised about this. I was assured I would receive whatever money I didn't use back. I was shown to my room and given a run down about the resort. When we entered my room I was really impressed. I went the cheapest route possible but my room was still very large, clean, and cozy. They provide bottled water for you daily and I was instructed to call the reception in the event I needed more. I called my parents to inform them I survived the trip to Cancun from NY and headed to lunch. Taco Arte for breakfast and lunch has buffet style offerings. There's also a spectacular salad bar but let's be real I didn't come on fucking vacation to eat healthfully. Adjacent to the restaurant is a bar with an extension of the same beautiful view. At the bar you are better able to creep on the people participating in the water sports. I saw a few people eat shit while wind surfing. After enjoying a few drinks, I set off to explore the rest of the resort (my parents told me to). On the other side, there is another, GORGEOUS beach with a nice view of the rest of zona hotelera down the shore. In the vicinity are the other two restaurants and the main pool. In between this beach and the water sports beach is the snorkeling place. In another place that I can't describe, is water skiing and trapeze/acrobatic shit. During my stay so far I have done: paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing, water skiing (more accurately would be to say attempted and subsequently ate shit x3 and swallowed a significant amount of lagoon water, laying on the beach, aqua aerobics, mexican "cooking class" more accurately described as watching a french sous chef make fajitas without describing pretty much anything he was doing. Pros: -staff are out of control friendly, I couldn't ask for nicer and friendlier people -the "all-inclusive" nature of it -beautiful resort with spectacular views -variety of activities -for monday-friday I spent around $850 with everything included, good deal imo -I was actually initially supposed to go to Turks & Caicos but this has been the hurricane season from hell (2017) and that resort was closed for repairs, they switched me over to Cancun at my request without any problems for the exact same accommodation class and dates, offered to pay the fees to change my flight -food is really good for the most part Cons: -with a few exceptions the drinks aren't that good. they use mixes for like the daiquiris/pina coladas so they aren't super authentic. some bars are better than others -the drinks are weak AS FUCK, let me tell you something: I am quite possibly the biggest lightweight on the planet and only twice was I actually intoxicated. I've pretty much been drinking a significant proportion of my time here -you need a reservation to go to 2/3 of the restaurants for dinner even though they're like 30% full, makes no fucking sense. Why do I have to decide what time I'm going to want to eat in advance? I'm more of a go-with-the-flow kind of person I have ONE FULL DAY left and I'm extremely depressed. This has been a spectacular vacation and I've already been trying to plan my next one at ClubMed. read more

Terrible food. Really really disappointing. My child wouldn't eat a thing after the first day. I can't say I blame him. It's also very very hot throughout the resort which doesn't lend itself to having a healthy appetite. I guess they'd not believe in air conditioning. For my money, I'd recommend going somewhere else. read more

Giving this 3 stars is a stretch! Just took my son & grandkids over New Years and although we still had a good time, I, having been to many Club Meds, was disappointed with this one. I was harassed the minute I arrived, due to their mistake for not showing I had already paid for transportation... Toilets never flushed in the morning, wristband (used for key) would work sometimes?, WIFI that is advertised to work, is free, etc, etc......Never worked, or it would go on, then quickly go away!! The photo people would take so many pictures of my grandchildren, that I actually had to yell at one of them to leave us alone!! Club Med tells me that are not associated with them, as the "braid lady" is not either...who was mean, & really not at all friendly...(which helped me to decided not to do business with her.) For what this trip cost me, I think I can do better for our next vacation. I think this Club Med can do better! read more

We love Cancun Club Med. Went over the Thanksgiving holiday. Weather was perfect. Great place to go for a family vacation. We rented a catamaran and went to Isla Mujeres. That was a great experience too. Overall if you have a large family with lots of kids, this is a great vacation spot! read more
