Such a fun time! We went for a Sunday evening drag show. It was small and friendly downstairs for the late night show. I hear they do larger shows other days of the week in one of the other levels of the large club. This location was perfect for a first time visit. The Queens were SO AMAZING with their performances! Comedy, dancing, a burlesque performer AND a puppet show.... Afterwards they all came out and chatted with the crowd. I did not want it to end. Such a fun night. I always say, Sundays in Savannah are for drag. And then I figured out Wednesdays in Savannah could also be for drag. Both those days are in the basement and usually low key. This time I went on a Friday and thought it would be crazier or more crowded. While it was on the second/third floor this time, when I went to the 12:30 show (yeah, yeah, I know it's late), it wasn't crowded at all. In fact, me paying almost 40 bucks for a VIP/table seat didn't make much sense because all those who paid for regular seats (higher seats with no tables) got to move to tables after the show started. My anxiety would have me still buying a table to secure my spot (second row is perfect), but there are no bad seats in the house. The queens here, as I've said before, are amazing. I've been going to Club One for years. There is always a new show and fun things going on. There is a stage upstairs that usually has a drag show going on. There is a bar up there as well. This last visit we saw a musical. First of its kind for me in this area. The middle floor has a big bar and a large dance floor. The basement has three pool tables and two dart boards and a really large bar. They usually have viewing parties for Rupaul's drag race which is super fun. They are serious about carding people so bring your Id. It's a great place to go with a group. It's so much fun. The bartenders and doormen are always nice. read more

Each lady's performance is about 20% lip sync and dance, and the other 80% these beehotchs are just out collecting their $1s. My husband made reservations for September 28 for the two of us plus three friends. Hurricane Helene hit us in the early in the morning of September 27th causing extensive damage in the area in which we live and leaving us without power. This was similar to the damage we had with hurricane Matthew, which left us without power for a week. I work from home and need to have electricity and an internet connection in order to work. Given our past experience and not knowing when our power would be restored, we decided to stay with family in Virginia for the week. I called the club after 5 pm on the 28th and no one answered. The recording said the fastest way to reach them was through Facebook. I left a comment on their post for that date and didn't receive a response. I called again on Monday, left and a message, and again received no response. My husband tried to cancel but was told his money was non-refundable. My understanding is that if you don't show up after 15 minutes of your reservation time, your reservation is released; so in essence, Club One made $366 that night. I would understand if we just decided to go, but there were extenuating circumstances in this case. This and the fact that I received no response either time that I tried to contact the club (including their preferred method) has left me with a unfavorable impression of Club One's customer service. read more

Club One is a three level gay club, gay bar, and drag show venue. Currently it's the only gar bar in Savannah. During the week it's quiet. There were only a handful of people downstairs at night and about 20 on the dance floor. On the weekends it gets a lot busier after 11pm. There are 3 bars (one on each level). The upper floor is the nightly drag shows. There is typically a charge to see the drag shows. On a busy holiday weekend I was able to get a ticket just before the start. Every ticket gets a seat. The main floor has a large dance floor and large oval bar. The music is top 40's and dance music. There are usually enough seats if you want a break. They have a second bar on the main floor that's not used. It's kind of a weird area that doesn't have a purpose. There is a cover charge on the weekends. In the basement is more of a bar. Smaller bar area, pool table (I think), darts, karaoke, and a cafe. The staff were friendly. Unfortunately, there were not enough staff on the weekends to meet the crowd. Club One is very dated. It seems like it was repurposed a few times. They would benefit from updating some areas. read more

I've been here as a visitor from California many times. My sister and I were lucky enough to see The Lady Chablis, back in the day. Wonderful, wonderful, a night we will never forget! The last time I was there was in 2018 with my daughter who identifies as Queer. We had a great time that neither of us will ever forget. Everyone was so welcoming. Tuesday night karaoke (Terryokee) was the best! While in town for a conference, our crew decided to head down the street for some late night karaoke, and at first we were skeptical of the location. All fears subsided after karaoke host, Terry, started off the night with his flamboyant dance moves in stiletto boots, and a voice built for Broadway! Our crew didn't leave until the lights came on and would have stayed until the sun came up if they would have let us! My husba and I went to Savannah for vacation on Labor Day weekend. while there we met a group of people also visiting. We decided we wanted to go to a place that we could dance and do karaoke. Club One was suggested. And yes we were aware it was a gay bar. When we entered the bar, music was playing and while waiting for our drinks my husband was tapping his hands on the bar to the beat of the music; not loud, not offensive. The bar tender asked what he was doing and my husband responded 'tapping to the music'. The bar tender responded with 'if you want to hit something go home and beat your wife '. My wife and I were in Savannah partly on her fascination with "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil". It seems that part of the storyline involves this Club and The Lady Chablis that worked and performed here many years. We went in so she could say she had been here even though Lady Chablis passed on a couple of years back. We ventured down the long staircase at 6pm on a weekday night to find about 3 customers and a bartender. Not just any bartender but Dawn Dupree. While asking questions about the book and movie, Dawn shared her stories of being friends with Lady Chablis for 20 years or so. She had 1st hand accounts of being her designer and being a part of the book and movie. Amazing personal stories - ask her about Arnold Schwarzenegger! For the price of a few drinks, tip and buying Dawn a couple also, we received one of the most fun afternoons of our vacation. Thanks Dawn! The regulars were also very friendly. Attended this venue on 1/28/22. Arrived to the bar around 11pm. The crowd was sparse but growing. Service on the main bar and basement bar was inattentive. One of the bartenders in the basement bar couldn't be bothered to remove themself from their phone to give service. Drinks are measured for a consistent pour, not what I've came to expect from a traditional gay bar who normally does a heavy handed pour. The drink prices were higher than a traditional gay bar. The patrons seemed to be extremely cliquishly. The main floor mens room had urinals lined up, with a mirror at the end. This set up provided limited privacy. This is not the ideal set up for me, but it would be for some. I will not be venturing back to this bar. read more

I will start off by saying that most of the staff is very friendly. Every year I visit Savannah I come here, only because it's the only LGBTQ+ bar left in the city. The drinks are weak (measured by the jigger) and they charge big city prices. You certainly do not get what you pay for here as far as cocktails. The basement main bar really needs a remodel as it seems stuck in the 1980s/1990s. The drag show was really fun however and the queens were very entertaining and talented. The dancefloor has an awkward layout and to be honest, I went here New Years Eve 2021 into 2022 and the DJ was not what I would consider very talented. This is an acceptable place if you want to go to an LGBTQ+ bar; however if another business owner stepped up and opened up some competition I am sure this place would suffer some. read more

I came to club one with a bachelorette group last night and was extremely disappointed in every aspect. The bride was ridiculed in front of everyone at the show. The host told her that her outfit was "tragic" and that "daddy's money" must be paying for the wedding. Our group left shortly after this along with many others. This was my first time going to a club. And I got to watch the beautiful queens be themselves. The staff was super nice! My mother has non epileptic seizures and had one during a song. When my parents sat by the bar and talked to the bartender. As soon as he had a moment he talked to the DJ and they stopped the strobe lights so my mom could enjoy the rest of the show. This was our first time to this club since moving here from California. We went to the New Years Eve drag show and then dancing and drinks. The drag show was very good. We enjoyed it with several performers really top notch. The venue is older and could use a cash infusion to update and make it nicer for the audience and performers. They deserve it. Bro, don't put a beat over old ass Olivia newton john songs. When the dance floor is empty, that is a clue. Please play dance music and update what you're doing. It was obvious he made his own mix and worked hard in it, but the end result was just not good for dancing. I was surprised there was no dress code either but I guess things are different here In Georgia. The crowd was not what I expected but we did talk to several nice people. All the staff was polite and professional too. Overalll, we will return again because I think this is our only option and we did have fun.
