What is nice is the ability to book out very far in advance, which I love as a planner, but apparently everyone loves that. I would have to book out a month in advance to get into a class since I book one at a time (I do not buy packages since I do not live here). It makes me pay if I want to get on a waitlist with no guarantee to get in, so I do not use the waitlist. Often when I go to a class, between 2 and 4 people no show, which is pretty surprising given the cost and early booking opportunity. Yet, every time I come I have enjoyed the classes and instructor. The instructors are motivating, challenging, and provide variety. The workouts are never the same, but are a full body experience using the Allegro 2 reformer. The studio is very clean and pretty too. I recommend trying a class here. When you arrive, you pick the reformer you want to use by number and have the corresponding locker number. Classes are 50 minutes long and are offered every hour.

It's a comfortable, informal space. It's also immersive--the familiar incense, heat, and black interior help me focus and put the outside world aside for an hour. Different instructors have their own styles and music but class structure is similar enough to practice across all of them. I love how many classes there are, all day every day, from 6 am to 9 pm or later--even holidays!! And multiple locations. I practice at Dallas Lovers but have gone to classes at the other Dallas studios and in Houston and Round Rock. All are equally comfortable and welcoming. I also appreciate the difficulty level. There's no pressure to do things you can't or don't want to, but there are lots of opportunities to advance. I'd classify myself as intermediate but I like the chance to practice headstands, arm balances, creative binds, etc. even when I'm not very good at them. You never know what you can do until you try!

So with 50 people attending the classes you have to find parking in the other side of the fence which is a bit sketchy, but fine.

I signed up for her all levels class and was offered 10 days unlimited for $20, a deal that truly cannot be beat! It was a great class, so I decided to try Janie's all levels class on Tuesday. It was a challenging class, and I was definitely feeling it in my shoulders! On Wednesday I dragged my mom who was in town and Eric R. to Tara's deep stretch class, a favorite of mine from the other studio. It was just what we needed during a furious holiday week. The studio was closed on Christmas day and I had already booked a class elsewhere Friday, so I returned today (Saturday) for Ashley's power flow class. I walked in nervously as I was not sure I could keep up with a power class, and luckily another person expressed the same concern. Ashley assured us it was just about a fast-paced cardio segment in the middle 20 minutes of class, and she would watch us and adjust pacing if needed. It was a really great class, starting with core work. We did a lot of cool things that I thought were really good for me and even movements I did not think I would be able to do in the past. I felt accomplished at the end of class! I still plan to take yin and gentle yoga to try more classes before my pass runs out on New Year's Eve. A few notes for people new to the studio: the spots are yoga-mat length/shaped raised cork from the floor and the mat goes on top of it. You can use a mat from the studio for free or bring your own. The studio has a lot of props including bolsters, blankets, blocks, foam rollers, and weights. It is very clean and spacious. It feels welcoming for all ages.

The studio was located on the 2nd floor of a historic-looking building, and it had its own private lot, which was a bonus. The practice space was spacious and stunning. I loved how the room was lined with windows that brought in natural light. The class I signed up for was at 6:45pm, so it was just in time for the sunset. Deka was our instructor for the flow. He was so welcoming and kindly got me acquainted to the space. He has such a calming voice that it nearly put me to sleep during savasana. I look forward to stopping by V12 Yoga again next time I'm in Dallas.
