The camp was very comfortable with our son's nut allergies (held epi pen for emergencies) and I felt he was safe and well-supervised. Counselors and Jr Counselors greeted our son (and other campers) by name every morning with a warm welcome, and said goodbye by name daily as well. My son immediately felt comfortable and reported he had "a great time" every day of camp. The camp day is divided into 45-min periods with a range of fun activities (soccer, dance, recess games, basketball, arts & crafts or chess, etc). Our son loved all the choices! There are larger camp-wide events, popsicles in the afternoons, and theme days. I learned that many of the counselors and staff were once campers themselves. Several shared they had great memories from when they attended camp, and made lifelong friendships. I'm a child psychologist, and camp can be an amazing opportunity for young people to practice independence, build friendships, try new things, develop problem-solving and communication skills, and feel a part of a community. This comes from a safe environment, caring staff, clear structure and expectations, and lots of inclusivity, warmth, and fun. Returning campers and staff are a testament to this great camp. We're already planning on seeing you next year, Golden Eagle!

I have never more happy about a decision I've made. Not only has she drastically improved in just two years, getting a title, scholarships and awards to boot. But, more importantly we've found a new incredible family. These kids and parents all truly care about each other and it's so beautiful. No drama just unbelievable support and great vibes. The teachers are the most amazing humans who truly care about your kid and have a great balance of cheering them on and guiding them to their best potential. I adore every single one of them. They have given my daughter (and I) so much love and support that I'm forever grateful for. I also take their adult classes which has been the most amazing experience for me as well. Yes, it's great fitness and fun. But it has also honestly been such a light in my life on my darkest days and been so great for my mental health. I only wantedd this place to prepare him for test-taking. Instead these people have a way of saying your child is deficient in some areas and enrolling you and fleecing you. 1. When you go to enroll, the owner talks to to you for an hour (with lots of disruptions so really she spends less time with you but the elapsed time is long) to grind you down to sign a contract. Even though I told her several times I want to sign up for month-to-month but she talked about the discounts and how you can get more than 1 workbook in a week to speed up. I am sorry to say, I fell for her pressure salesman tactics and gave her a check for six hundred sixty for the 6 months. I don't remember signing any contract. I filled an application form and was not given a copy. BTW they won't give me more than 1 book a week so in no way have I got the benefit of 6 month contract. Other than 10 dollars a month discount. Now she won't let me cancel (although month-to-month folks have the ability to cancel). I even offered her to charge me the month to month rate. 2. The first week we go for the 'class' and she forces me to schedule an appointment for my son for 2 hrs every week. I thought this is included in the 660 I paid. Then she says it will be 350 per month. I said, no I am not interested. And she says it is not much only 70 per hours. Rubbish. As if 70/hr is not much. 3. I have no idea what the heck goes on in the class. I asked the lady at the reception to explain what happens during the 40 minutes class and she tells me - you drop your son, leave and come back!!! Thank you very much. I am asking what goes on when I leave him there. What is taught. What is done, etc. You see, they claim it is a class and I still have no idea how it is conducted. I asked to speak to the teacher and receptionist tells me she is busy. 4. On top of this I paid 30 to get my younger son tested for 30 bucks and she said she did it for free!! I told her I paid. I even have the check counterfoil. Bunch of lies. 5. When I say I want to cancel because I am busy, son is busy, son is stressed and gets headaches, owner tells me we need to see why he is getting headaches! I told her I will discuss that with my pediatrician. Just give me the money back and let me cancel. She keeps saying it is a contract. I did not sign a contract. 6. My understanding is this place maybe suited for people whose kids need help because they are lagging. This is definitely not a place to put an already advanced kid. Very disappointing. Stay away if you can. I want to run away from this place and cut my damages.

They don't want us to pick them up until as late as possible and on off days wake up as early as they can to go to camp. If that isn't a sign that this place is a great place for the kids, I don't know what else. The teachers really work hard to make this place a really enriching experience. My kids have come home with so many thoughtful crafts and projects from Catalyst... they also do a "little bakers club" on camp days... go on field trips... they get to play with kids from other grades and classes so I think that also helps build relationships with kids outside of their class. I also didn't realize that during school time, the kids' schedules are pretty packed that they don't really get to just chill and play together. So I love that at Catalyst they can continue to make friendships beyond the classroom and get to just hang out. One of the teachers also sends me photos of what they do throughout the week, and I really really appreciate that. So grateful for Catalyst at Eaton. Definitely go check them out!
