MadeBy Studios is such a special place! I brought six girls ages 10-13 and they had an incredible experience. We ended up staying for hours because they didn't want to leave. There's a great range of activities, from simple and fun projects like patches for backpacks or bracelets with charms, to more personalized creations like designing your own stuffed animals. One of the most unique offerings was the ability to create AI-generated coloring books where the kids can become the main characters in their own story, which was such a fun and creative idea. I'm sure adults would enjoy MadeBy just as much as my pre-teens, there are so many cool activities to choose from. The staff was attentive, patient, and encouraging, which made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. It's a perfect spot for anyone who loves crafts, creativity, and hands-on activities. We'll definitely be back!

I love the concept of this place, and I love that it's woman owned and there's a strong women presence in the staff. I recruited 4 of my closest friends and we were ready to bring our sneaker designs to life. So I give the sneaker activity a 4/5 from an adult perspective. It wasn't what I expected. We had ideas in what we wanted to make, but the customization is very limiting. I expected: - The shoes already being there, and getting to put the designs on myself. In reality, the shoes weren't there and they heat press your designs for you at a later time - more freedom on design like coloring in other sections of the shoe or adding design to the shoelaces. You only get at most 5 places to add design to, per side and per shoe. And everything is done on Canva - to leave with my shoes. You wait a few more days to pick up the final product. On the Square website, yes I was aware of the sentence that said shoes are picked up the following week. But i thought that was merchandise before we start design So I interpreted it as, book the appointment at least a week ahead for the shoes to be there in the store. (I booked over a month in advance) So to reiterate, this place is definitely 5/5. I'd come by for the other activities. As for the sneaker activity, skip it if adult only.

5 stars because the staff here ( Ashley and Winny) are so amazing!!! My partner and I signed up to do tote bag making - first off they were very flexible with letting us use our credits for other activities even though we ended up going with the tote bags. Secondly I took over 3 hours and had a complicated design and the staff girlies were so patient! They never rushed me off a desktop, they were diligent in making sure my designs would print out properly and even offered to print parts of it again if it came out improperly and they were so careful in ironing my design to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. I also wanted to add my name to my tote bag at the end but the letter patches didn't have all the letters of my name so I asked if I could print my name out and pay extra and they let me just print it out for free! So kind!!! Lots of selection of activities in the store - most of them felt targeted to a younger demographic but there is a charms bar w a decent selection, night light, water bottles engraving, custom sneaker, custom stuffed animal, custom stickers, custom framed art and custom patches. Price for the tote bag was 30 dollars which is def felt was high to start with but for the fun and quality of the finished project I think it was totally worth it! I do think for younger kids the value might vary since you def can speed through these activities. TLDR had fun and loved the staff and loved the result!

Went to the Grand opening and it was pretty chaotic. The kids saw a bunch of other kids sit at a table and started working on a stuffed animal craft. My daughter thought it was free as part of grand opening. I asked to double check and it wasn't free but by that time my daughter had already almost completed her animal and wanted to pay for it. $60! I felt a little tricked. After I bought it, I realized there was an extra $4 charge for an accessory they never told my daughter about it before adding it. I'm pretty upset at the lack of price transparency.

What a great place to get your creative juices to work! My wife and I came here and got to choose from many different choices to make an item and customize it. We decided to make some keychains for our kids with there names on it! The facility is really nice! I love the decor and set up of the place! Very cool spot located in downtown Mountain View. Nice date night activity to do before or after your meal in downtown. Our kids loved the keychains we made them! Staff was very friendly and help full! We will have to take them with us next time!

We've had three visits now to MadeBy! My 11yo did a day camp on President's Day and she loved the comic book design the most. Then my 40 person team came for a team fun event and it was a nice change of scenery for these events. The badge bar was a hit. Now I'm here with my two kids and we made lunch totes at the patch bar. We love having this space right on downtown. The folks working here are always friendly and super easy to coordinate pickups for things that are ready next day!

Awesome place to spend an afternoon with your kids making crafts and personalized items. You can make your own images with Canva and chatgpt and then create stickers, night lights, hats, print them into sneakerd/water bottles. You can even create a short story and print it out as a comic. There is a also a charm/necklace/ bracelet DIY bar. If you want to crochet or knit, they have that too! Everyone was so friendly and helpful! Prices are extremely reasonable. Come stop by and see if for youself!

***3.5 stars overall***…read more I took a friend to Color Me Mine for their birthday. This location was convenient but it was really small. I am glad I made a table reservation. (You put a $10 deposit on the table that ends up going towards your final bill.) Because of the long rectangular shape of the store, the staff sit in the middle of the store, so no one greets you when you walk in. Thus, we were a little confused when we entered -- not knowing if we look for our table first or look for a ceramic piece first? Or do we check in somewhere? A greeting from the staff would have solved this. Without leaving their counter, someone briefly and hurriedly explained the process and locations of everything, and left us to begin. Even though I had done this before, it was my first time at this store and it was my friend's first painting pottery ever, and we were both lost, even after her mini tutorial. (I have been to pottery painting places where they walk you to the paint area to get you started, as an example of comparison.) Thankfully I remembered things from previous experiences that the painted ceramic tiles by the paint bottles with 3 squares symbolize what the different layers would look like after firing. (This is critical knowledge that the staff should point out to each group, so we'd understand how each layer of paint looks when dried/fired because sometimes we may want to paint 3 layers of paint, but not always. It was crucial to understand how to reference these tiles!) The paints and brushes were in one corner; the sink and paper towels were around the corner in the back of the store; and there was one main shelf of unpainted pottery choices (with a range of prices, but after adding in your $10 a person sitting fee, the final cost adds up, so be sure you like the piece you choose!) We chose to paint one large piece together rather than 2 smaller pieces. To make the look more cohesive, we chose colors within a certain range (lavenders and yellows/orange), and then we didn't look at the each other's side! It was very fun. **Some Things To Note** - Your table reservation gives you 2 hours. (We finished in that time but we also didn't do a lot of detailed work. I actually think most people would need more time than that if you choose a large ceramic or are painting details.) - The tables are pretty close together, so you don't get much privacy. We all heard each other's conversations. It was also very narrow to walk between the tables when people were painting, so it may not be a place to bring active kids who can't sit still for long periods of time. - It looks like they allow outdoor food because many were bringing their own snacks. I brought in an outside drink, which I'm glad I did because it was warm and you sit there for hours. - They do have a bathroom, if anyone is wondering. - It may take a week for them to get to your ceramic piece, glaze and fire it, but we got a text that it was ready around 4 days after painting it. It is a fun experience to paint pottery, as long as you can afford it and feel comfortable approaching the counter to ask your questions because the staff doesn't seem like they go out of their way to offer help unfortunately.

We booked a reservation at color me mine around 3:00 PM, and after checking in with the staff we were shown our table and started right away. When you arrive, the staff are super welcoming and walk you through the candle-making process step by step. It's beginner-friendly, so even if you've never done anything like this before, it's easy to follow along. There are tons of scents to choose from and you can mix and match a few to make something unique, or pick one signature scent you love. You also get to control how strong or subtle the fragrance is, which is a nice personal touch. The space itself is clean, well-organized, and smells amazing! Plan for about two hours total: the first hour is for scent choosing, instructions, and pouring your candle, and the second is for drying time. During that time, you can explore nearby shops or grab coffee in downtown Mountain View. When you come back, you can decorate your candle with labels or small touches to make it gift-ready or keep for yourself. Overall, it's a relaxing, creative experience that's perfect for date nights, small group outings, or even solo time if you want to unwind and make something special. Highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for a fun, hands-on local activity!

The other customers had a good/friendly enegy as well so I was able to fill up my creative and social cup from the event. I smiled or giggled a ton from people or just putting a charm in the right spot! I definitely want to come back outside of an event just because it was such a fun and relaxing experience for me that even though I went home tired I internally felt rejuvenated! I spent around $119 which I think was definitely worth it because I got to learn a new skill, I got good quality merchandise, I have items that is literally one of a kind, and I got to take care of my inner child that day. GIFTS: I was so shocked at all the gift options in this place! And I almost didn't go in because it's located INSIDE the community senior center. But I found the things they sell remind me of what you'd find at Cranberry Hill, nice quality, only this shop is smaller and the prices are lower. Gifts for ME too...lol. Given the pricing and cute stuff, I might have (definitely did) buy a few things for myself too. EASY TO FIND: Anyway, it was easy to find, they had a sign. You just turn right as soon as when you walk in the double doors and they're right there. The center is that huge lot by the duck park, and the senior center is at the far back of the lot. PRICES: They really have a wide range of pricing because of their selection so I feel I can easily find something price appropriate for the person I'm buying for. They had a ton of small things under $5 (even $2 and $3 dollar things) like little mats for under your coffee mugs, but higher end like the amazing colorful hand knit scarf I bought...for myself. It was hand knit with that extra thin yarn...a million stitches and only $45?! Bring on fall! CARDS?! What? YES and so cheap (good riddance Hallmark). Tons of cards like those high end Papyrus ones at the store that are more like a part of the gift, only these started at only $3.50 a card. Crazy. HAND-CRAFTED: Sometimes I think "church bizarre" when I hear that, but they said everything in there was hand made and it looked so professional to me. SELECTION: They fit a lot of stuff in that little shop. Candles, paper art, purses/bags, jewelry and lots of beaded things, knit things, towels, even children's stuff, and a ton of hand sewn gifts like placement settings, and cup holders, etc. Even some of the jewelry (Pom-Pom key chains and seed bead stuff) were teen friendly, along with some of the fairytale paper art boxes. TWO CRAFT FAIRS: They were advertising a craft fair and said they do two a year, in May and November and that it's supposed to be huge with tons more stuff, so I'll be heading back for that. MEN: Honestly, this seems is a great place to men to find gifts for the various ladies in their lives.
