This is not a review of the club itself but the classes taught on Tuesday nights. Great experience for those wanting a fun and challenging salsa class. The location maybe a little hard to find as you have to go through a door located on the side of the building and then down a set of stairs. The first class is a beginner/intermediate class on1. The second class is an advanced mambo/on2 class. Excellent teacher. I enjoyed his style of instruction and felt I got a great class for the $20 drop in price. Will definitely be back.

Club Viva, oh how that little Latin dance place has surprise this man with nothing but left feet. For one night you made me believe that I could feel the rhythm of the music and of the night, dance, dance, dance! Club Viva is a fun place. The door is located at the front of an alley and the stairs go beneath another restaurant, so you are basically in a basement. Upon walking in there I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed myself immensely. The bartender was great. I'm not sure if she knew exactly what she was doing because she poured the drink crazy strong, so at least I got my money's worth in alcohol, so actually there are not real complaints. I went there with a group of friends for a birthday night out. One of the nice things about this place is that the cover was only five dollars and everyone was extremely polite. Also they have free salsa lessons a couple of nights a week. I believe those nights are Thursday and Saturdays before the normal club hours start. Club Viva is a great place to spend the night dancing, no matter how good or in my case, how bad you are.

I always had aspirations to be a great dancer, aspirations that have never been realized in real life. I was shocked to see that my carpool of friends took us to Club Viva, as we were supposed to have finished drinking and were supposedly on our way back to a friend's house to watch Robin Williams stand up on dvd. The fear rose up in me as I was forced to tag along with my friends. I do not dance. As stated, I've always wanted to, but as of yet don't. The people inside were so happy and looked so cool! There was a nice sized bar and some tables. My husband and I looked at each other, nonverbally communicating to dive for the bar and hide. Nearly successful, our friends caught up with us and pushed us out to dance. Perhaps it was the 'deer in headlights' stare we had, but another couple came up and started showing us moves, but not in a swinger or creepy way, just a very kind and helpful way. Within a few minutes we didn't feel so stupid, and actually had a nice time. I'm eager to go back for the free dance lessons, and encourage everyone else - even those who 'do not dance' like myself - to give this place a try. You'll be warmly welcomed and won't be laughed at.....well at least we weren't.

Never would have thought our…read morefirst night's meal would have been some Cajun Creole food in St Louis style BBQ Country We were so pleased with our decision as their food rivaled anything in New Orleans. As an avid oyster lover, never would have guessed we would have the option for charred grilled oysters in Missouri. We demolished those in minutes and quickly moved on to our entree I ordered the jambalaya and the size the spices we're so flavorful. The shrimp was on point and the chicken almost tasted like seafood plus the andouille sausage was spicy without being too hot. They nailed the texture and firmness of the rice and highly recommend My wife went with the sampler platter and it was hard to tell between the etouffee, red beans and rice, gumbo, or jambalaya which was the best. I know tough decision to choose from but that was a slam dunk that we highly recommend! Walking throughout the establishment you could tell it totally had that Voodoo deep New Orleans vibe going on that makes you feel like it belongs in the French Quarters If you're ever in the Lou and in the mood for some good Creole Cajun food, this is the spot!

Worth it. 100%.

I've never been to a bad show here. It also helps that there are other things to do and eat in the area. You want a date night rock show? This area is perfect for that. I'm prompted to this review because this last show was the first time I've sit up top. Results may vary from venue to venue when it comes to sitting up top. I'm not sure but in the future, I might opt to sit up top for every show. Sometimes you run the risk of the sound bouncing off back walls and ceilings which can make things miserable if you're catching the sound from multiple directions. I'm happy to report the sound is contained in this venue. To begin, all 4 of these bands have perfected their live sound. That definitely helps in small and large venues alike. If any of your favorites roll through here, you owe it to yourself to attend. The only peeve I had this time was the merch. It's a bit odd how this venue handles merch. There were multiple locations for the merch inside the venue. Dayseeker merch was in the big room up front but my question... why not put all the acts in one room? they were spread out which also led to mass confusion with multiple long lines snaking and intersecting with each other. Aside from that, A+ venue. Will continue visiting in the future.

I would always call the box office to be sure of the layout before buying tickets. I saw Qveen Herby and Thot Squad (May 20th) and it was a safe vibe of all types of people. The check in process was smooth and someone helped me to my seat up stairs. I enjoyed the show but my accessible seat kind of sucked because once folks stood up I couldn't see. I asked some other people to help me be a mood killer and kindly ask others to sit down, but the venue should adjust those seats one more time. Also they should go back to just being a smoking building because everyone was vaping and the smell of smoke and marijuana was very pronounced! Either crack down hard or let the people smoke it up. Accessibility note: there is not enough parking so get an uber or pray to the parking goddesses. There is stepless entry but if your seat is upstairs, you will need a proper staff member to key in the elevator for you. I waited over 10 minutes for assistance (they bought me a drink tomorrow ease that soreness). Bring headphones or ear plugs as the whole suite booms! Don't be afraid to tell folks down in front because you cannot see.

The staff... wow.. another story.. Outside bar had an AMAZING waitress, Jess, that truely made our nights and was so awesome and fun. Jess deserves a raise and if you go to Venice cafe avoid literally any bar tender except for Jess. The old lady bar tender on inside bar took two extra dollars from me (I guess thinking I wasn't gonna tip? ) despite me leaving three on the bar and me pointing it out to her. Then a very very large brown haired curly bearded man completely ignored me at the bar, at like 4pm it was me standing directly in front of the bar by myself while he had co convos and gave bar backs shots. I couldn't have made this up.. I couldn't think of anything to even say to address that wasnt not kind or out of pocket so I left. It was an unreal experience and from what I've heard about management just from patrons there they wouldn't care anyway, it was alienating and gross behavior. Venice cafe had a good reputation and it was on my list forever, but I've already shared with more of my groups that we can go somewhere else and be treated much better. I'd second guess this option unless Jess is working outside in the bar.
