Incredibly rude. Despite being polite and understanding the owner and bartender was still incredibly rude to myself and guest. I came here for my birthday this evening and was repeatedly told to keep my party quiet as if we weren't celebrating and in a karaoke bar of all places. She doesn't know how or have proper ingredients to make cocktails then over charges. There are so many restrictions here it is impossible to have a good time. Stay away from this place the owner/bartender is extremely rude and the husband just goes along with it. They shouldn't own a karaoke bar if they don't want people to have a good time. Would give 0 stars if I could. Came in with a group of people to celebrate a birthday and they did not let half of us sing karaoke, in addition the service was genuinely terrible. Aggressive tone, bad customer service, and overcharging everything they can. Do not go to this place. They will yell at you for not paying for your entire table and they will do it on the microphone in front of the entire bar. These owners need to sell. read more

A dive karaoke bar in the Chesterfield area. I ended up here for a friend's birthday night out. This definitely would not have been my first pick, but to each their own. The place is a little run down and outdated. There were a fair amount of people when we were there making things a little tight. Of note, the bathrooms were immaculate. The ladies room had a wait so I decided to use the men's bathroom. I'm always hesitant to do this because I've been shocked at the low standard of cleanliness men's bathrooms typically have. This bathroom was equally as clean as the women's bathroom. From my best guess a husband and wife duo run the place. They came off a little abrasive in their approach to guests. The system for lining up songs is chaotic. You turn in post it notes with your song choices and turn them in at the bar. It's basically a crap shoot on when and even if your song would be played. The matron quickly sets the ground rules letting you know up front there is a two drink minimum. The bar had a wide selection to choose from. The drinks are well balanced not to weak and not too strong. There seemed to be a fair amount of regulars that night. I spent the majority of my evening having my ears assaulted by people attempting their best at rock and heavy metal music which just glorified screaming. We came with a large group. The owners (husband and wife) aren't the friendliest and clearly have no idea how to run a good karaoke bar. As you usually do in a place like this, you meet new people. Our new friends wanted my husband to sing with them and the owner flat out told my husband "no." We were a bit taken back by his response and decided it was time for us to leave. Before then, they just didn't have that personable behavior that makes you want to stick around and they do not seem to like new people in their bar. Just all around not a great experience. Alright, after reading all of these weirdly low reviews, I feel like I had to leave a review. My coworkers and I (all who work at a restaurant/ entertainment venue & know about customer service) LOVE Koreana Karaoke. First I have to let you know that this is owned by a couple. This place is what fuels their entire lives. They love that place and hold it closely to their hearts. This isn't some top of the line insane karaoke. This place is a small locals only style place. They use YouTube for their lyrics, they have a 2 drink minimum for a cover charge & their private rooms are a little outdated. BUT as repeat customers/ guests there, I can tell you the second I walk through that door they know what I'm drinking, which song I'm singing & even special ordered in angry orchard because my coworkers love it Anyone who has left a low review must have had to of disrespected the owners somehow or clearly don't know how to pick up on the vibe. Sad to say but this place is not consistent with their karaoke "rules".., (n should there be such rules when one is out with friends to have a good time?? ) ... apparently if there's no more than 4 ppl in the place, you're not allowed to sing karaoke! My friends surprised me with a night here for my going away party (I'm moving to Korea)!! There were 10 of us all together so we reserved one of the larger rooms for $40 an hour. Don't be scared when you roll up to Koreana! It seems weird that this bar is in a strip mall and that you can hear blasting bass from the parking lot! This place is pretty much no frills but it gets the job done right! Having been to Korea a few times, Koreana is just like the types of "noraebangs" I've been to in Seoul. You can sing at the bar (but typically only in Korean) or you can rent a private room with your friends, loosen up with some drinks and sing Karaoke till your voice is gone! Koreana has a giant book of songs to choose from to keep you singing all night long. One thing we learned is that our waitress hinted that next time if we'd like we were welcome to byob. Basically every group that walked in after us has cases of beer and bottles of liquor. However, the bartender and our waitress didn't let us go thirsty at all! Koreana Karaoke is a ton of fun! Our group of 7 came in for a 10PM reservation, and the very friendly owner showed us to our cozy room and patiently explained to us how all of the various Karaoke systems worked. There are two traditional Karaoke systems, one with a large selection of foreign language songs, and one with a better selection of English language songs. There was also a third system that everyone could connect to on their phones, and use to queue up music from YouTube. It was a little bit finicky to get it going, but once we did, this was a real highlight. The main bar area, where you go to order food and drink, is accessible right outside the private rooms. I had a lot of fun occasionally venturing out there, ordering a drink, chatting with the owner, and seeing what the sparse, Thursday night crowd was singing. One thing to note, is that the food selection was limited to one item on the night that we went. It might be a good idea to call and confirm what food is available when you're making a reservation. Private room reservations are $40/hour. Singing Karaoke is free in the main bar area. read more

If you're looking for noraebang in STL, there aren't a whole lot of options. This place has a decent selection of English songs (albeit there are some...interesting translations of the lyrics), fairly cheap private rooms that you can smush into (prices range from $20-$40 per hour depending on how many people you have), and a seemingly lax policy on BYOB. Singing in the bar area itself is a little terrifying if you are not Korean due to the slightly older Korean crowd (many of whom can actually sing pretty well). Although if you're willing, they'll put on an English song for you. No guarantees on the reception though. read more

Will never go back. I was there for over 4 hours and only got served 1 drink. When my father told the owner that he had been waiting for a ridiculous amount of time for a beer the owner proceeded to cuss my dad out over the microphone calling him awful names and yelling at him to get out of the bar. She was literally yelling the "F" word. Calling him a mother f*****. All because he said you might want to hire a bar tender...the most unprofessional, inappropriate, and ridiculous thing I have ever seen in my life. This place is so weird. It was like a karaoke party in your Asian parent's basement. There was linoleum tile floor, old light-colored leather couches, and a cheap formica coffee table in front of an old-school tv-karaoke setup. We ordered a bottle of vodka for our party. June runs an amazing operation. Great songs, awesome atmosphere, rooms to rent as well as a large common area...and now a game room or "area to find your voice". The owner was very racist towards me and my friends. First and last time going there. Walked in and was told we had to order at the bar but another (white) group walked in after we did ... was seated, waited on as well as drinks being served while we watched. The owner never came back over to us and was upset that we came in the first place. If I could give her "0" stars I would. She told us there was a two drink minimum (but of course did not mention it to the other group) and also made it seem as if our group would of put her over capacity but the group that came in after had just as many people. It's very diverse with a lot of regulars that are like family (minus the kids). The owner is very friendly and does not tolerate offensive behavior, violence or intimidation. If it does the police are quick to follow up. It's a one drink minimum if you want to participate in karaoke. It's busy Saturdays and after 10pm on Friday's. My uncle waited 20 mins for a beer and when he politely said they should hire another bartender, the owner got so mad that she got the microphone and screamed "this MOTHER FUCKER said I should GET ANOTHER FUCKING BARTENDER. Koreana's is a great hidden gem of a karaoke bar. They have both English and Korean songbooks and a good selection in each book. The owner recognizes the regulars and has a funny sense of humor with everyone there. Come a little earlier to be sure to get more turns to sing, before it gets busy. The website insists on making reservations which I did. I was NOT made aware, when you're making a reservation you're reserving a private room for $40 an hour. When I spoke to a female that works there, she was indignant and insisted this info was on their website. IT IS NOT. Very misleading. Speechless is how I left this horrific place. Never before have I experienced the rude, aggressive, vile, foul mouthed, combative, wicked behavior of the owner. This place may deserve 4 stars but honestly I am not sure how to rate it. We went for the karaoke room but as I always seem to have to try any food a place has, I did do that also. The lady that seemed to be the owner? provided great service, taking care of any requests we had. I had ordered the hot wings and pot stickers, not knowing how big of an order they were and they came out on large platters ($20 each). Everyone agreed the pot stickers were excellent and they in fact are probably the best I have ever had. The wings did not come with any sauce but upon our request for ranch or something to dip them in, she brought what we needed. The wings were also very good. The only drawback was that karaoke in the main room was ridiculously loud for anyone in the private rooms like we were, having to turn our music up louder that we would have liked. But, the couches were comfortable and clean and the system easy to operate and the rate of $40/h seems reasonable to me. Not a karaoke fan really, but would I go back?
