Carbonara Ramen (LV), Fried Dumplings 7pc (LV), Sauteed Chicken Tender Bao Bun Lunch Special (LV), Tteokbokki (LV).

Third visit here and blown away each time. Their carbonara ramen is so good because they add the fried chicken tossed in sauce of your choice ! Adding kimchi and pickled cucumbers just ties everything together. Food comes out pretty quick regardless if you dine in or drive thru.

First time trying this place & Tyson was SO helpful figuring out what we should get. Ordered the Korean corn dog & it was to die for!! Soooo good & great service! Tyson even went out of his way towards the end of our meal to ask how we liked everything. Will be back!!!

Wings and drumsticks.

Chicken was fresh, crispy and delicious. French fries were amazing. My Korean wife, who's very particular about her tteokbokki, really enjoyed it. Very glad we came...oh, and the plastic gloves?...genius! We'll be back the next time we're in The Ville!

The food was delicious and served hot. The cashier was very friendly and polite. It's very clean and plenty of seating inside and out.

Chicken wings, kimchi fried rice, and potato puffs. (Left overs) the portions are huge).

Great place, atmosphere of Frankfort is better, but quality of food is the same. I Recommend trying this if you've never had it before

Visited Chicken King while I was in Louisville, and I can see why it's a local favorite. This place…read moreserves some seriously good fried chicken. The dining area is small and no frills, so I'd probably use the drive-thru or take it to-go next time. We ordered the 4 whole spicy wings meal with two sides. I was surprised they include the entire wing, including the tip. Each wing comes with the drum, flat, and tip. The wing tip is actually my favorite part, and it's rare to find restaurants that leave it on. The chicken was incredibly crispy without being greasy, and the spicy seasoning had just the right amount of heat. I want that recipe! For our sides, we doubled up on the potato wedges, and they absolutely lived up to the hype. They seem like they're coated in the same seasoned batter as the chicken, giving them an extra crispy crunch on the outside. Pro tip: Order the purple drink! It has a grape flavor with a fruity twist, and it pairs perfectly with the spicy chicken. Overall, Chicken King is worth a stop if you're in Louisville. Between the huge portions and affordable prices, it's easy to see why it's been a longtime favorite among locals.

Someone brought their wings to a pitch in. Never being a fan of wings, I thought I would try them…read moreanyway. Much to my surprise I really liked them. Crunchy breading, juicy and tender inside. They were not spicey or dripping in any sauce, just regular breaded and I thought "I am going to have to go to this place soon" After doing some research I found that they have drive thru only for dinner hours. So I made my trip down Broadway to Chicken King and could not miss the big yellow sign nor the already 7 cars in the drive thru. Since this chicken has a otremendous fan base, I considered myself lucky to be #8 in line as others pulled behind me. The menu is packed full of items, so my first tip is to look up the menu online before you go...less pressure once you arrive...lol I ordered the 8 PC box (regular) for my husband, 3 PC tenders (that comes with 3 potato wedges) for myself and a medium peach cobbler to share. I was very disappointed that the tenders were not fresh nor freshly breaded. They were pressed and glued white meat formed into a tender. I actually only ate one, shared one with my dog and threw the last one away. The potato wedges were the star. I should have ordered more of those. My husband, who LOVES fried chicken was not impressed. He said KFC and Golden Corral has better. The peach cobbler was average. So, I am sorry to summarize our experience as not having a reason to return.

Shannon had an attitude from the beginning, but we brushed it off. Then we waited 55 minutes for his pizza and it never came out. He was the first to order before it got busy. Everyone else was served before him. Shannon, who took our order gave an attitude because we waited patiently while on lunch break. The fact that Shannon gave an attitude when he kindly asked for a refund was undefiled. I didn't even get the chance to eat my food because I was waiting for him to get his meal. The fact there was no communication even though I went up to ask for his pizza and was told it was coming and it never came! Better customer service on Shannon can definitely be better!

Restaurant is pizza/calzone-focused, plus some salads, soups, and quality apps. The by-the-slice option for lunch is great, but I struggle not to get a whole pie anyway...the bee sting is probably my favorite "hot" pizza choice in recent memory (honestly think it's the use of fresh peppers more than anything, you can just tell the difference). Strong selection of rotating local brews. Order at the counter, no table service, but the staff is helpful and welcoming. Don't leave without stopping in the grocery. Lots of good stuff (cannot recall the cold brew brand they have there, but it's incredible), local meats and produce, teas, seasonings and sauces...lots of great and varying selections.

Jeremy makes great $8 fashioneds and has a lot of knowledge about the area. Frankly, we preferred coming here for drinks versus the two speakeasies, which we found disappointing. We also ordered some bites, which were delicious bar food. A word of advice, when you walk in here recognize that Jeremy is a long time Lowville resident so respect his bar, respect his craft and act appropriately. I only say that based on what I witnessed with a small group of young men.

There was a sink in my stall, and beautiful shadowbox artwork above the toilet. The hosts were very helpful navigating the place. They gave us an option to drink at the main floor bar, which seemed classy and had a stage for live music, or to go downstairs, which they said had more of a sport bar vibe. We chose the main floor bar because there were less people and we were helped right away. We got a couple drinks each and all were pretty good- no watered down drinks here! My favorite was the espresso martini. We also opted for the Doritos nachos which were pretty filling for an appetizer! The menu states it's for 3-4 people, but it was a good serving for just the two of us. It had Doritos, cheese, pickled onions, lime, jalapeños, and a mixture of beans and it was delicious. We overall spent about $70.

Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. It took a long time for us to be greeted, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. It was just my friend and me along with a larger group of about 10 people. One thing that made it confusing was that the employees didn't seem to have consistent uniforms, so it was difficult to tell who actually worked there. Our server was friendly, but he kept forgetting items we requested and took a long time to return to our table. I used to be a server myself, so I understand that things happen and I try to give people grace. However, the pace of service felt excessive considering how few tables were occupied. The food was okay overall, but I actually thought my meal tasted better after reheating the leftovers at home. My friend also noticed that part of her chicken looked undercooked, which was concerning. We didn't feel confident about that portion of the meal. The biggest downside for me was the pricing. For the portion sizes, food quality, and overall experience, it felt overpriced. I can definitely see why people like the atmosphere because it's a cute spot, but between the slow service, the concerns with the food, and the prices, my visit didn't live up to my expectations. I'm hoping this was just an off day because the restaurant has a lot of potential.

We had high hopes based on Eagle Louisville's stellar Yelp score. But we walked away disappointed…read morebecause of a major service lapse, curious food seasonings and discrepancies between menu descriptions and actual dishes. We arrived mid-afternoon on a Friday. We had a choice between sitting inside or being seated at a picnic table on the covered deck. We were assigned a high-top table in the dining area past the bar, where a few guys were watching a soccer match. The brine-soaked fried chicken is Eagle's specialty, so we ordered it. I thought the chicken was good,. So per the menu for the three-piece fried chicken meal, you can only order either all white meat or all dark meat. Interestingly, the two people at our table that ordered white meat still got a drumstick with their meat. The last I checked, drumsticks were considered dark meat. For an appetizer, we ordered the hush puppies. They had a nice crunchy texture but were very spicy hot. We also ordered the spoonbread. This was my favorite dish of the day. It was served warm, had a great texture and a light maple flavor. With our meals, we could get two sides. We requested the collard greens, green beans, fries, grits and mac & cheese. Only the mac & cheese was good. The collard greens were way salty and the green beans had odd and unexpected seasonings. Our dining companion was put out, and understandably so, that the menu said the grits came with white cheddar cheese. But instead, though the grits maybe had cheese, they were also loaded with loads of diced jalapeno. They were so over the top spicy, none of us could eat the grits. The fries were strongly seasoned with oregano. WTF? Our entrees came with biscuits. The biscuits were tasty, but unfortunately, because they contained too much shortening, fell apart when buttering them. And that leads up to the service lapse. After we received our check, our server completely disappeared. We waited a half hour for her to re-appear, gave up and asked another server to cash us out. He disappeared and we waited some more. Finally the red-headed server re-appeared and breezily explained she had been out on the deck the whole time. No apology or anything.
