I got six quotes to do a small painting project in our home. Normally I do the interior painting…read moremyself but in this case we wanted some rough cedar paneling painted and I was worried my DIY job wouldn't turn out so great because I have zero experience painting paneling. What I learned from the quote collection process is that the cost to paint a room has quite a big range, with handymen type painters willing to do it for significantly less than true painting companies. That being said, the process is entirely different. Vladimir at Maldonado's Painting explained to me their multi step process and made me feel confident the paneling would turn out great. A handyman will paint your room, but Maldonados will first prep, caulk, sand, prime, and not leave the job site until you are completely satisfied. Among painting company estimates, Maldonados is on par. They are neither significantly cheaper nor more expensive. But man, the job they do! Vladimir has an incredible attention to detail. His employees are also meticulous and anything they miss, Vladimir catches on his daily walks of the job site. From prep to execution to clean up, these guys are on point. Our paneling turned out GREAT. His team was also able to remove a built in bookshelf, patch and retexture the wall behind it, and fix some other wall and ceiling issues where we had removed some (ridiculous) decorative brick pillars. They have an impeccable attention to detail and brought many issues to my attention that I wasn't even aware of. They fixed everything to my complete satisfaction and our room looks like a new space! I cannot recommend Vladimir and Maldonados Painting enough. Painting is EXPENSIVE... if you're going to spend this kind of money, hire the best. Hire Maldonados.

Maldonados was recommended to us by neighbors who had received recommendations from a relative in…read moreanother neighborhood who knew several people who had used them.  And so the endorsements will continue as we were very pleased with the work they did.  Prices may be competitive but what makes these people different is the obvious commitment to quality work from the owner through the crew who actually does the work.  They work well together, and Vladimir has empowered his employees to make on the job decisions to do even more work than quoted, when they see it is needed, ALL AT NO ADDITIONAL COST.  When the job is done, he wants to know it has been done the very best it can be, and he is aware that some things can't be seen until the work is underway. We met with Vladimir and walked around the house discussing areas that would need work.  He asked if he could use Hardie board where squirrels had been gnawing at the siding.  When painted, it looks the same and would last longer.  Since we wanted only to replace rotted and damaged areas, rather than residing the whole house, and though our original siding was no longer available, he found materials to make it work beautifully.  In some areas, it was Hardie board, in others, it was cedar and the finished work matches well.  The entire house was re-caulked.  Even where they did not replace anything.  He wants everything tight, with no water getting in to cause rot in the future. We ended up with about 30-40% of the siding replaced, rotten trim around the windows replaced, everything was caulked.  New wood was primed, then painted with the house color before the final painting was done on the entire house.  The quote was for 4-6 days, and the work was completed in 5.  The crew was respectful and careful of the property, draping, taping and covering everything.  The price was as quoted, because that's the way it is with Maldonados.  He does not charge anything additional, even though many more boards were replaced than originally quoted. The pictures attached show windows where all the trim was replaced, and most of the siding.  The close up detail of mitered corners and caulking that were far superior to the original work, and the careful measuring and cutting required to work around pipes and faucet.  Great job guys.
